Will we extend Bridges or will Sarver not pay 4 players big money for 1 or 2 years?

I was most worried about the bench pg and bench playmaking going into the season.. really impressed with what Cam Payne has done. Having a solid bench is really going to raise our ceiling.

Hate to say it but it’s time for Galloway to take all of JCs minutes.

Galloway's net rating is amplified because he makes so many shots is so few minutes and these are based on per 100 possessions. He wouldn't be able to keep that up in a lot of minutes and against starters, and as you can see in my spoiler, his defensive rating is by far the worst on the team.

Now you may be saying Cam Johnson to start and LG to play more minutes in 2nd unit but CJ is our PF in that lineup.....Jae is good...just had a bad start shooting.

Didn't JC go through a slump last year where he was forcing too many shots, like he's doing this year? Monty needs to pull him aside and tell him no shooting unless you're wide open, just come in and play D for 94 feet. The rest will come.

I would probably have Cam continue to come off the bench, but play 30+ minutes and close most games if he outplays Crowder within each game.

I meant replace Carters minutes with Galloway.

Don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but Frank Kaminsky gave such an entertaining interview after the game last night. Worth a watch!

Paul 30
Booker 36
Bridges 33
Crowder 24
Ayton 32

Payne 18
Carter 9
Galloway 12
Johnson 26
Saric 20

Moore -

We really do have some roster challenges (but the GOOD kind). First thing, I'm THRILLED that Bubble Payne has carried over. He looks like a perfect backup PG and the only downside I see so far is that he isn't signed to a longer term deal, because he'll get decent money in the offseason, but for now, I'm glad we have him.

I'd like to see some E'Twuan Moore at some point this season, I think he could end up eating up some of Carter's minutes when we need a more offensive minded weapon. Next, I think that Kaminsky probably can be effective in limited minutes. He shouldn't be the type to try to absorb 20+ minutes at the 4/5, but to come in for 10-15 minutes a game I think he can be effective. However, I ALSO think Smith will eventually start to eat into some big man minutes, because he's going to continue to grow and improve the more he's around the team and settles in to the NBA. Finally, I think Nader can be a solid NBA player, and could eat up some spot minutes and play very well in a limited role.

I don't know what the season will shake out to look like, but give James Jones a ton of credit for assembling a team that top to bottom deserves NBA minutes. I truly feel like our roster, from 1-14 (exception being Jones), can go into a game and be a positive force for our team on a relatively consistent basis. What other NBA roster is that deep? People have been saying it's the deepest roster we've had since the Nash era, but I actually think its the deepest we've had since the Barkley years, because there were a number of those Nash teams that only went 7, 8 or 9 deep. Remember the days of Marcus Banks, Jumaine Jones, Eric Piatkowski, and Pat Burke? Our bench now would smoke those clowns.

Honestly the Cavs at 3 is far more surprising. I thought the suns should be pretty good on D coming into the season.

Small sample size. Which is skewed by the absymal 3pt% of the Pels last nite. Plus the Kings are not world beaters either - no matter how some people here fluff them up. We will be good on D - just not this good. Top 10ish for the season - but not top 5 I think.

I'm lazy to look it up, but I bet our O is a bit worse now than we thought at the begining of the season. We also had a puke of 3pt% in our first game against the Kings, plus our starters need to gel a bit more. So it will get better than the current rate we are going.

No surprises here for me.

I mean if we become top 10 in offense AND defense that is an elite contender level.

Looking at the standings - of the 8 teams that made it past the 1st round in the bubble, only 1 is above .500 and they got beaten by 50 recently.

I wonder how handicapped they'll be from not having a typical post-season rest.

Quite a departure from Oubre. I wish him the best, but felt he was more about fashion and his brand than basketball and his teammates. Bridges + Cam will be awesome for years. Is anyone else a little bit worried about how we pay all of these guys?

I like them a hell of a lot more than the last twins the Suns had.

Looking back the Suns have done a great job of drafting in the late lottery ever since McD's tenure and have been pretty terrible everywhere else in the draft. Really makes it feel like all those years tanking were a complete waste of time.

I don't question Oubres commitment, dude played hard and was a positive guy to have around. With that said Bridges and Cam are both naturally higher BBIQ guys than Oubre and I guess now that Bridges refound his shot they are both more natural shooters than Kelly. Suns appear to have made the right choice.
