Just so you guys know, DA didn't play in Saturdays game for the blazers either. So this isn't a case of every other game off. Also in a brand new system with brand new players around you, you'd think the coaching staff and DA would want him to get some minutes to familiarize himself with everything. They are obviously sheltering him.

That is true. But this is a preseason game against the 3rd stringers of the worst team in the West.

It's a casual scrimmage for KD, I don't think you can judge anything to do with him based off this game.

They are playing none of their vet starters. No Brogdon, Simons, Grant or Ayton. The only guys that may start who are playing are first and second year players Scoot and Sharpe.

If I was coaching them I wouldn't play Ayton in this one either. Too much of a circus for him and then you have the toxicity of the fans. Best to just avoid all that. Even if he did play and play well, Suns fans would say he didn't have to go against Nurk. Sounds like earlier in the day he thought he was going to play according to that post lilfishi made earlier.

I am not watching closely but I don't understand what the complaining is about looking at the box score. He's shooting 60%, 5-5 from the line, 1-3 from 3, no turnovers. What is this issue with him? He usually shoots better from 3, but that's not bad...that's near Book's average.

I agree that father time will kick in at some point and that he is unlikely to stay healthy and still would have never traded 4 unprotected firsts, and unprotected swap, Bridges, Cam and Jae for him. That was absurd, but I wouldn't put a ton of stock in a preseason game or two.

He had a pretty bad playoff game or two with turnovers and didn't shoot particularly well, but he has also has crazy good #s overall the last few years and had crazy good #s for us last year overall.
