No, but Josh Smith's problems have never been system. His only real problem has been basketball IQ and a refusal to stop taking open deep shots when he's not hitting them. He can shoot you out of games.

Ray Ray, is Markieff working on his 3 ball? Have you heard anything regarding if that's going well?

I'm not sure if people know this, but trying to make a point by using false statements isn't the smartest way to go about making a point. In fact, you usually negate your point.

Trading Bledsoe, Markieff, and a pick for Favors is silly. First, it isn't happening. Second, McD isn't going to lose that much value for a non superstar.

Oh well, let the massive amounts of negativity continue. :-(

You can't just look at raw turnovers per game. Bledsoe ranks 42nd amongst qualified point guards in A:TO ratio

http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/player/_/stat/assists/sort/assistTurnoverRatio/position/point-guards/count/41

To use the guy you're comparing him to, Curry has a 2.49 A:TO ratio, whereas Bledsoe falters at 1.80. Bledsoe needs to improve his decision-making.

Yea I think when most people talk about turnovers their talking about turnovers to assist ratio. Nobody would care if a guy averaged 6 turnovers a guy if he also averaged like 12-15 assists a game.

Obviously many high usage players or PGs have high turnovers, the question is are they making up for those turnovers with enough assists while playmaking or not. That's why nobody cared about Nash's turnovers because he did it while he was getting ton of assists. In order to get ton of assists like that, you will have some turnovers as well and that's understandable but that's not the case with Bledsoe.

I dunno. I always felt his problem was a coaching issue. Teams that are laxed about 3PT shooting or allowed him to hang outside too much got a lot of 3's from him, naturally. But when they are strict with him, he gives them the Josh Smith we expect. The season he shot 7 3pts over 81 games was one of his best seasons.

I think Bledsoe's main issue is just trying to do too much rather than taking what the defense is giving him, he's got such outstanding athleticism that I think it leads him to try more questionable passes and sometimes you just see his mind outracing his body, playing frantic rather than in control. Steve, even when galloping down the court at full speed always seemed in control, recognizing where the defense was and never rushing where he was going with the ball unnecessarily.

The good thing is that Bledsoe is still quite young at 25, I don't think he'll ever become top caliber in terms of avoiding turnovers but he certainly can improve there.

Ryan Anderson would be an amazing acquisition for this team I feel.

No doubt. He'd open up space for Bledsoe and Knight the way Frye did for Bledsoe and Dragic. Having Chandler back there on defense would be a huge plus especially.

If they could alternate Anderson and Morris at PF next season, I think that would be a major upgrade. Not Aldridge but an improvement anyways. Anderson is experienced but he's certainly not "old" either.

Channing Frye is probably available and he has a declining contract.

I would take back Frye if they agreed to throw in Gordon, Dipo or their unprotected 1st rd pick in next year's draft.

I used to work for the Hawks when he was there. He drove the coaches crazy with his shot IQ. Not sure how strict they were with him but I know they saw it as a problem and it didn't get fixed. Not so much with the 3s, because if he's hitting 33% you can live with that, but the long 2s.

We don't want Josh Smith.

Josh Smith? There is a better chance of Aldridge changing his mind to Phoenix than the Suns pursuing him.

They have 0 chance. Not even a top 10 team. Kobe will shoot them out of every game because he still believes he's the best scorer in basketball, just like at the start of last year when ESPN was lauding him while not looking at the fact that he was taking an insane amount of FG attempts.

The guy has so much talent as a big man but he falls in love with his jumper. I just feel like if he was used exclusively as a face-up PF, he could go back to being a high FG% player

But an assist to turnover ratio should not be used when discussing whether a player is a "turnover machine". :banghead:

I've never liked the assist to turnover stat as reflective as much. If you really compare a relevant stat to turnovers, which is steals, he fares much better.

Because he creates turnovers with steals, and also with blocks that usually result in turnovers, this negates a little bit of his turnover problems for me. But it is frustrating..he doesn't seem like a natural passer, but I will say sometimes it has been him working with very young guys fumbling the ball (Plumlee or Len).

If we could pick up a PF that can shoot, rebound, and play acceptable D then it would really help our team. Anderson/ McBob or someone in this mold; someone to clean up the rebounds when Chandler/ Len alter the shots.

Bledsoe, Good-Knight
Good-Knight, Booker
Tucker, Warren
Anderson, Morris
Chandler, Len

Has the makings of a solid team.

Man, reading the list of all these second rate PFs we could pick up is **** nauseating. If we move on from Keef, instead of signing or trading for some **** tacular vet, just say **** it and run super smallball with at least one of Len or Chandler on the floor at all times. At least then the stable of youth could all get minutes.

Return to Phoenix Suns
