Portland still in the playoff mix. Looks like they are going down the same road as we instead of tanking they are winning. I know they are really high on CJ mcCollum but are they as blindsided on that 8th spot like we did. Offer them Knight,Len,Kieff for CJ and top10 protected 2016.

Yes, they are like us in 2013-2014....two good guards, a few good frontcourt players who have been in the league a bit, and are overachieving, in the first year of a rebuild.

Man, with two rim protecting bigs with no range, and Lyles being the best rookie 3 pt shooter as of now out of rookies, they are SO set at the big positions and so raw at guard that I would try to pry away Favors, but there is likely little chance we have enough, unless we throw a ton of picks for him or Lyles. MAYBE Knight, especially if it was Favors, but without being a passer and getting those guys involved, I don't know that they'd want him. But now that Lyles looks like the real thing, there might be a better chance they move a big....they might want a big back too...like maybe Len as a backup...would you do Len, Knight, the Cleveland pick and the 2017 Miami pick for Favors?

I wouldn't trade the Miami picks at all. We're getting a lotto pick in 2017 and an amazing one in 2020 or whenever it is.
I'd go for Lyle's since favors price tag would be too high. As bad as knight has been I think he can help push the Jazz forward.

I think Payne will be an excellent team oriented point guard in 2 years. Kanter has been picked apart so long he is now underrated. Suns will need to unload Chandler somewhere.

Kanter is so bad defensively. I'm not sure adding the worst rim protector in basketball is a good formula for a team that already doesn't defend. I'm not a Knight fan, but I'm not sure I could accept that. Payne is a good fit for this system, but he's not so good that I'd take him over the pick we'd probably otherwise get for Tucker.

We need a 2 way PF. If we move Knight, we have Bledsoe, Booker, Warren (hopefully Jeff isn't still starting PJ next year, but Jeff's been so bad this year it wouldn't surprise me), PF, and Len.

Booker, Bledsoe, and Warren will be taking most of the shots in that offense. There is only 1 ball.

I think we'd be better off with a PF who can hit the 3, plays good D, and helps protect the rim.

I like Lyles a lot, so I'd actually be okay with this. Problem is Utah would have to believe Knight is a PG. They don't really need a 2 guard. But if they believe that he's a 1, he's a massive upgrade to their absurdly awful PG spot, and they've struggled to get that PG through the draft.

A part of me thinks we should hold onto Knight in case a team gets #1, we get #3, and then we could use him to get Simmons. I wouldn't be okay with what some have mentioned (trading for the pick before the lottery), but I'd be happy to do it if it's after the lottery so we know exactly what we're getting.
