I was just thinking about Payne too. I think he took a bit too much hate. He had problems and a really bad season but he played hard and had the ability to be really good at times.

The trade will look really dumb if we end up not using the TPE we got for him this season.

I still don't understand why Ishbia decided that we needed to get rid of every last player from the 2021 finals run. With an almost entirely new roster we are so out of sync.

He was an ~8th-9th rotation level guy but I said before the season he was one of the few real NBA level guys we had on the team last year and kind of didn't like that we just gave him away. Better player than Bol, both Lees, etc.

That Eubanks/KD/Watanabe/Gordon/Okogie lineup needed Goodwin desperately. Dunno what the **** that lineup was.

Again ultimately this PG stuff means little until Beal gets back.

But if Brogdon becomes available I'd look at going really hard for him.

He's the true 1B because KD is just not the same guy anymore. Age is setting in.

To be fair, Beal will make a massive difference. Everyone is getting easier shots. Especially him. Now, they can sag off and either our guys make or miss.....lots of missing tonight. Beal will be the basketball version of a cleanup hitter for us in this offense.

He's the needle mover as we know that KD/Booker will bring it every night.

Cam Payne was a fools gold bubble player who ultimately sank back to his averages. He often played reckless and had that ugly hitch in his shot that made him easy to close out on.

Who did they lose that was a great defender? And you better not say CP3 or DA lol.

Craig was fine but irrelevant.

The last great defender they lost was Mikal, but I make that trade any day of the week. It’s Kevin freaking Durant.

DA was a good defender that can switch onto many guards. CamJ was another good defender that has length to bother shooters, Crowder was a great defender that slowed down AD in 21 playoffs. Even though Paul was older he was still a decent defender and of course Mikal was the best defender on our team.

Kevin Freaking Durant is already 35 with tons of injuries just like CP3 we acquired few years ago who happened to also be 35.

Doesn't really matter where he is on the hierarchy as long as teams still defend him like a 1A which is exactly what they are doing

KD refusing to shoot 3s is fcking crazy. Like your contested midrange is not falling, try from 3 instead when you’re actually open.

They needed to clean house after looking like a finesse treadmill team who was constantly getting throttled in 2nd round match-ups and closeout games.

I tend to agree but ultimately at the time, going into the offseason, he was objectively one of the few rotation quality guys even if he was 8th/9th level type of guy. We had Okogie/Landale/Payne in that order as guys who were not god awful, and that was it. So given the choice of not bringing him back, without knowing the guys we'd sign in FA, it was an easy choice to recommend keeping him.

I'm just saying that if this continues then Beal and Book will be the defacto leading scorers.

I do like what our periphery guys are doing, minus Grayson.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

This the kind of weird stuff from KD I don't understand. A fadeaway mid-range shot. Made the shot alot harder then it needed to be.

Allen has completely destroyed his preseason good feelings tonight. Let's hope it's a one-off.

That missed KD jumper and missed Allen 3 was a tragic sequence. Shouldve been ball game.
