I've read in other places, I think Bobby Marks, that they had a standing offer of like Smart, Kennard and a pick for him and they wouldn't even mind giving that up and losing him since they want to clear cap space anyway to extend JJJ.
I think they'd just do it kind of like Toronto did for half a year of Kawhi...gave up DeRozan and a first for Kawhi. At first that seemed like peanuts for him but now looking at it for half a year that seems like quite a bit, but they got a championship out of it.
It would be great to see Butler in Memphis.
Now Butler to Memphis makes sense for a team wanting to win a title
I get he doesn’t want to go there. Which is odd as if you TRULY want to win a title, the Grizz are much closer to being there than Phoenix
So truly how much does Jimmy B want to win a title and how much does he just want to get one more contract for $110m?
Well Bob, I think you've answered your own question there.

He doesn’t want Memphis or staying in Miami...other than that he is OK going to any team (first option Suns) in the league.
If the Grizzlies are crazy enough to give up assets for him he would literally do NOTHING to help them on the court. I doubt they trade for him, they have to know that Jimmy isn't posturing about it.
Do you really think he would do that? Not try on the court if they traded for him?
If he did do that he can basically kiss another contract goodbye. He'd have to take the MLE somewhere. There will only be a couple teams with cap space (that would surely want no part of him) and Memphis wouldn't do him any favors helping him work out a S&T.
The NBA just announced that Toumani Camara is one of four players named as an injury replacement for the Rising Stars event during All-Star Weekend, along with Ausar Thompson, Anthony Black and Ryan Dunn. Scoot Henderson and Bryce McGowens are also slated to participate.

I am pretty sure about it. You are seeing what he is doing to the Heat and he has said specifically that he doesn't want to play for the Heat and Grizzlies.
Sunsdeuce wrote:Ryan Dunn made the rising Stars roster. That must piss Booker off that Dunn will be at the all-star weekend and Book won’t be
Booker will surely get a another injury add if he doesn't get a regular spot don't you think? Luka may have to get voted in to make it since he has missed so much time. Others injured too. But it depends on whether people think guys like Powell, Harden, Fox, Ja are deserving over Book. Book has played pretty well during our recent stretch against the bottom feeders though.
Edit: I didn't even see that the full all stars were announced.

Why would Gambo have connections with either the Pels or the Heat? He's just Ishbia's mouthpiece on this whole subject
How many and many times he needs to be right about Suns moves or NBA info to give him credit?
At this point I don't get it. I don't care about him as a person, I just care about his info from the Suns and the league.
Gambo does have good sources around the league. I still think his best source lives in either Salt Lake or Dallas
Ainge and my guess, Kidd have used him to get information out there to float stuff.
As for being a mouthpiece - I think Flex is a bigger mouthpiece than Gambo. Flex always tweets crap like "these things take time" or "the Suns front office is playing chess not checkers."

Well Bob, I think you've answered your own question there.
Hence, another reason I am leery of trading for him. He will show up and play to get the extension and next year, he Book and KD will be content and happy making $55-60m each while the team is average at best.
Oh wow, none of those other guys I named other than Harden made it either, not even Luka. Of course he's been out. No Kyrie either which is a bit surprising.
It's getting too tough. I was thinking a while back, asking a question about Jalen Williams vs Book, but I figured it wouldn't make sense on the forum since most probably don't know Jalen Williams game well. It's good to see he made it. OKC is certainly deserving of two all stars and will probably have 3 the next few years, but I'm a bit surprised he made it over guys like Kyrie and Book even though I think he is a phenomenal player (heck, I traded Jokic for him in fantasy dynasty. Well, him and Sengun).

Gambo relies on ex-players/ex-suns staff/ex-Caridinals players. Gambo doesn’t have an “inside” source so to speak. He just has sources that were associated with Phx at one point or another since he came to Phx 25 years ago.
Flex just started with Bookers brother/family which he used to expand his reach for info.
Neither one of them are great insiders but yes they have more inside info than the average person.

Ishbia is a perfect example of how a person doesn’t need to be extremely smart or better than another person to get rich. It’s really a matter of right time, right place for many of these billionaire who didn’t come from wealth.
That being said, Ishbia definitely shows that he isn’t the most brilliant man in the room with a lot of these silly decisions he makes. Right now, between his decisions and Jones poor decisions, it might take a decade to fix the mess those two have created.
But hey, we dealt with it for close to two decades with Sarver. That which does not kill, makes us stronger.

At least with Sarver -- they had some cap flexibility and draft picks at times. If Ishbia overpays for Butler and decides to triple down and extend Butler and Durant - if you think 2010-2020 was bad - just wait for 2027 to 2035.

Sure he'd likely get targeted defensively, but then so will Jones, And our offensive scheme is unfortunately half-court oriented with or without Paul as Durant and Booker don't really like to run a "fastbreak offense anyways!
So if we're stuck in a halfcourt-oriented style of play anyways, then we might as well maximize it with one of the greatest passers/ floor generals in NBA history don't ya think man? I just don't see much inherent downside here in comparison to what we're already doing with Jones? Just his leadership, accountability, and basketball IQ make it a good swap. And the effect that he could have on this team that's soft, lacking leadership and direction would/could be a catalyst to helping turn this whole thing around! At least for this season.
bwgood77 wrote:I know you are posting as much as you possibly can with as many trades you can think of, to get rid of our picks, but would you prefer one of these go down or us to save this 2025 Cleveland pick for this year so you can start your in depth draft stock and post us hundreds of videos of the new KJ, Marion and Amar'e type players in the coming weeks?
I always appreciate the consistently condescending veiled sarcasm man! And everyone here should know far too well my position on the draft, draft picks (1sts and 2nds), and even where I stand on the all-in or blow-it-up discussions. I'm only posting trades, tweets, etc as potential discussion topics and thought experiments to foster discussion under the current restrictive conditions we're futilely stuck in, and resulting from the consensus reports that our owner and front office strategy (that I don't agree with) is: to go "All In" and completely destroy our future due to the irrational shortsighted compulsively narcissistic nature of our owner!
And as to your question, You know me well enough to not even have to ask this question. But of course, I'd personally prefer to keep that specific pick or all three in a logic-based scenario and draft an actual cost-controlled young high-upside athletes with size, length, explosive athleticism and loads of potential, and a bright future to add to our long term core just as I promoted with Dunn! Heck, even some of my Nurkic trades like the one to New York had us getting back Kolek and Dadiet. And My Allen premise had us getting back Jonathan Mogbo in that trade, the trade with Orlando had us getting back Jett Howard, so I'm still low-key trying to add more young talent to our Durant Retirement Boys' Club project (# DRBC forever!)...LOL.
I understand you're frustrated with our situation and the big picture that a lot of people are ignoring or oblivious to due that'll inevitably result in a horrific decade+ long miserable rebuild. And that you're just venting your frustration by deriding my trade proposals. But again, I'm only posting ideas and premises because these are the unfortunate conditions we're left with to work around. I remember telling people that it was a bad idea to give up so much as we did in our past trades, I also remember frequently promoting draft pick (1sts or 2nds) acquisition and also (along with many others here) suggesting building younger with more size, athleticism, tenacity, talent, physicality. And I remember also suggesting in the offseason/preseason that we secure along, physical, athletic big and add more size and athleticism in general and nothing really came of it peer usual. So my point is that as a fan, I didn't ask for or hold any sway over the situations that brought us here into this situation any more than anyone else here did either.
So I'm just curious as to the reason you're feeling it necessary to target/mock my posts when it's fairly clear that none of us have any choice in our team's direction, and all that's really left is to discuss such ideas, premises, and rumors to pass the time until we fully implode and can then shift focus to other possible topics.

Had our owner not had a compulsive nature like a gambling junkie on coke! we could've had two of those names and one hell of an elite defensive wing duo of Camara and Dunn that other teams would covet!
None of our big three are really leaders at all! And has there ever been any superteam that actually won a championship or even made the finals without a true leader on that team?

Makes me think of a Bickley and Marotta blast I listened to/watched on youtube where they were saying Ishbia shouldn't be taking heat and talked about how willing he is to spend money.
While I think having an NBA owner who is willing to spend money is great and all, I think having one that has no problem spending money and will do so without a second thought with the combination of not being a real smart strategist when it comes to NBA salary cap, roster building, etc, and being reckless with picks, etc...that is a dangerous combo.
I'm not saying he's a complete idiot with all that stuff necessarily, but it's complex and people have been at it, learned this stuff, learned from mistakes, gotten experience from it, etc, for years....there are basketball pros.
Now I think they have been able to do some out of the box thinking because they have Trevor Bukstein as the VP of Salary Cap Administration, but I don't know how much experience the rest of the front office has and I also think it's extremely apparent that Ishbia takes a very hands on approach.

Jalen Williams is not better than Book, he is bigger and stronger and more versatile defender than Book is but the gap in their offense is pretty big imo. JDub is their second shot maker and creator on that team but there's level to this. That said the Suns can't have two all-star, that's just the reality. And he hasn't been good.
The 2005-06 Suns will always have a special place in my heart
