Yeah. You just look at his numbers as a starter and his age and it's pretty obvious he's a future all-pro. We have our "star". We just need to keep hitting the draft and get him running mates. I think Len at worst is a solid starting center in the future. Warren at worst is an elite 6th man, although I have hopes his D will improve enough to make him a good starter. If Len can become more of a consistent force offensively, and get his blocks back to what he did in years 1 and 2 it would go a long way.

Also, unlike Harden, Booker wouldn't need to pay strippers 6 figures to date him.

Unbiased advanced analyst take on Booker...

George (Tucson, AZ)

What do you think Devin Booker's ceiling is? He seems to have a great feel for the game and good instincts in the pick and roll in addition to being an incredible shooter. Is it crazy to think he can be better than Klay?

Kevin Pelton (3:06 PM)

Yeah, I think the ability to create his own shot is what gives Booker a realistic chance to be better than Klay Thompson offensively. Being better than him overall is a different story because Thompson is a good (if overrated) defender and thus far Booker has not shown much indication of developing into a positive defensive player.

Things may be rough in Phoenix atm but you guys have something special in Booker. He's a future perennial all star imo.

Booker with 25.8 ppg scoring in March. 6 games. Best 6 game run for a Sun since Amare in 2010.

That's certainly a part of it. Still though, how awful a person must Harden be if he can't pull in a stripper when everyone knows he's worth like $360 million.

I think Booker will be All-NBA, not just All-Star level. I think he'll be a top 2 or 3 guy at SG. We're really not as far away as our record indicates due to our underachievement. We're really just a really good 4 away. Bender or Simmons would potentially fix that.

Yes, if we don't get one of those guys, or even if we do get one of them, and especially Bender, I wouldn't be against taking another PF or maybe even 2 others since that is clearly the one position we have a massive hole at...it seems we are 2-3 deep everywhere else.

I just posted about a guy we might want to consider with our 2nd round pick, though it's just based on seeing his #s last night and reading some stuff about him. Maybe you've seen him play if you've watched Dunn.

I may have to get home and try to catch some of the Providence/Villanova game to watch Dunn and Bentil.

He must be pretty awful. Fixing his teeth wouldn't hurt though.

Until Devin starts getting some love from the refs, I am going to hold off on his defensive issues; he plays so passive because of the refs, IMO.

Wait til he drops a little baby fat and adds some muscle! He won't even have to try that hard, he still has a kid's body.

Have we had a player get superstar calls lately? Even Nash hardly got them.

Just had a look at the games he's scored 24 points +

They came against D-Rating Team Ranked - 1, 3, 5, 13, 16, 20, 21.

Makes it even more impressive.

Just took a look at Durant's rookie numbers to see if he ever put up 28.4 points per game during a 5 game span and he hasn't.
So this means... Booker > Durant

Love the excitement around Booker. I'm not as sure as you guys, especially because I think a good majority of you guys went on about Archie, which I always thought was ridiculous.

But here's what I'll say about Booker: if he adds 10 pounds muscle and increases his 3pt %, he'll be a very solid NBA player in this new NBA we're witnessing.

My money, he doesn't. But I'd love to be surprised. I don't think he's athletic enough, he doesn't handle the ball well enough nor does he control the offense well enough. I think booker is a korver type guy. He'll be better than korver if he keeps working but that's his type. He's def not a franchise guy.

But hey, who knows. Maybe he takes some strides forward and grows from all of this playing time. But, I will say, I really doubt it. He's a terrific draft pick, a good NBA player at this trajectory, and a wonderful supporting teammate.

I really don't understand why you're saying is gonna be a Korver type of player whose only ability is hitting 3s. Booker shows us he has additional qualities.

This "analysis" is so far off. It's comical.
