Can the Knicks get their meeting with LMA done with already?

I mean, I know he's a whopping 2 years, 9 months older than LMA, had the highest Offensive Rating in the NBA last year, at Age 32, was 12th in the league in total WS (7th per48 WS), 6th in Total Rebounding % (5th RPG, 4th Total Reb [in 75 games, no less]), etc.

So why wouldn't LMA want to play with Chandler? And why are there a bunch of media outlets that are saying we DO have a good chance?

So Lamarcus has only 9 years of experience. The max salary for a player with 9 years is roughly $18.9M. Incoming salary can be $5M more than the outgoing salary in a trade for him. So we would need to move about $13.9M to sign Aldridge. Maybe we can work a reasonable deal with Portland where they get the Morri and one more young player plus a few draft picks for LMA. Get to keep Len, Warren, Granger, Booker, Tucker, etc

Maximum salary for a 9 year player (without being named NBA all-star starter twice or all-NBA twice) is 30% of cap. I was looking at the wrong cap number for 2015/2016. It is estimated on RealGM to be $67.1M so it's 20.13M to max LMA. Would need to send $15-16M to Portland ( Morri plus two other players )
