Kind of sucks that we faced Memphis after they lost Gasol. Memphis is losing by 42 to the Rockets right now in the 3rd. They're terrible.

I am so over the we have to lose at this point. We are top 3-5 unless we are jumped. Ingram and Simmons struggles accompanied with Murray rise, for me, provides at least six players I could careless who we drafted. Simmons, Ingram, Dunn, Brown, Bender, and Murray are all a crap shoot in my book, so I am not stressing over the losses as much, especially when we are at worst a solid 4.

If we beat Minnesota twice we would be fairly close to them in the standings.

Remaining schedules of MIN, PHX, and BKN.

1. PHX:
@UTA, @LAL, vsMEM, vsLAL, @SAC, vsBOS, @MIN, @MIL, vsWAS, vsUTA, @ATL, @HOU, @NOP, vsSAC, vsLAC
Winnable Games: @LAL, vsMEM, vsLAL, @SAC, @MIN, vsWAS, @NOP, vsSAC
Verdict: The Suns are the hardest team to try and get a grip on because you never know what type of energy they're gonna bring to the game. They can win against any of these opponents at any given night, but they can also get blown out at any given night. Guesstimated Wins: @LAL, vsMEM, vsLAL, vsWAS; Record: 22-60, 4th worst.

2. BKN:
vsPHI, @CHI, @DET, vsCHA, vsCLE, vsIND, @MIA, @ORL, @CLE, @NYK, vsNOP, @WAS, @CHA, @IND, vsWAS, vsTOR
Winnable Games: vsPHI, @ORL, vsNOP, @NYK, vsWAS
Verdict: There's no way around it, Brooklyn has been a bad basketball team all season. Players may give up and mail it in sooner than other teams. Its hard seeing them win another game this season but they have some pretty inconsistent opponents coming up, so you never know. Guesstimated Wins: vsPHI, vsWAS; Record: 20-62, 3rd worst.

3.MIN:
@MEM, @HOU, vsGSW, vsSAC, @WAS, vsUTA, vsPHX, vsLAC, @UTA, vsDAL, @GSW, @SAC, @POR, vsHOU, vsNOP
Winnable Games: @MEM, vsSAC, @WAS, vsPHX, @SAC, vsNOP, vsHOU
Verdict: Minnesota is a young team, and with that comes inconsistent performances. Still, they are some ways ahead of us in the W column so we should be safe. Guesstimated Wins: vsSAC, vsPHX, vsNOP; Record: 24-58, 5th worst

Back in the 3 spot after the Brooklyn win. Keep the tank alive! We must lose the 2 Lakers games and the MIN game. Please... Please... Please...

Wow, Bojan Bogdanovich with 44 tonight. Maybe he will have an end of year breakout and lead to some wins. Yeah, I know it was Philly, but it's gotta help his confidence.

Yeah, regardless of our recent wins, Brooklyn's schedule is so much tougher than ours there probably wasn't much of a chance we finish with a worse record anyway. The worst thing about beating Minnesota is making us that much closer to THEM. And Knight played horribly. If he just plays ok, we could play competitive against a bunch of teams.

If we would have lost to Minnesota I would have felt pretty comfortable we would finish 4th worst, but with that win, I think there is a pretty good chance we finish 5th worst. When it's a blowout win there isn't much to feel bad about, but losing one like that when it really could have gone either way hurts.

Though I guess we lost plenty earlier in the year that could have gone either way at the end.

I don't think this is a draft where finishing 3, 4, 5 would make too much difference.

If the odds of Simmons are 12% vs 7%, you have to run the draft 20 times on average to get Simmons once extra.

Then players 2 onwards I don't see much difference.

It's as much a test of our FO strategy, whether we really believe in a rebuild or want to take shortcuts.

Ingram is the prize of the draft.

And that's what makes this a sad draft.

All depends on so many other things. Simmons is so supremely talented but an NBA team has to know what to do with him. What do you do with a 6-10 rebounding pf that wants to play pg on offense and cannot shoot outside of 8 feet? And then there is his defense. Yikes.

With Ingram, you know what to do with him.

Skal has been ripped and sat by Calipari all season. I have a hunch Watson could get him going.

Bender is an unknown and likely a huge defensive liability.

Yeah I think Ingram fits our team better than Simmons. Simmons needs to run point and be surrounded by shooters.

Huge night for the tank tonight!

We need to lose to the Jazz.
BKN plays a winable game against Chicago.

Not that I'd be upset with taking Simmons if we landed the #1 pick but part of me is thinking he could turn out to be a bust just as well.
Landing the 3-5 pick could be a blessing in disguise.

I was thinking, Bender, since he's a real shooting thread, could give us a ridiculously good 3pt shooting trio in Knight, Booker, and Bender. Even if we deal Knight, having 2 shooters at key positions, and are this young, would really help us long term.
I'm starting to want Ingram or Bender more now.

He had all sorts of wrong here. Not only do we not play the Jazz tonight, but Brooklyn didn't play Chicago, Washington did. And apparently is was winnable, because they are up 12 midway through the 4th. It's looking really safe now that their pick is safe for us (provided they don't jump to top 3), so from here on out for them, it will likely be best for us to see them start losing more now.

Minnesota winning, which is good.

Yeah, I've been feeling the same way and kind of mentioned that in the draft forum (where someone proposed a #3, #13 and Knight for #1 deal) and in our draft thread here. I'll be pretty happy to end up with Bender. I know there is bust potential, but there seems to be a lot to like about him too. I'd also rather have Ingram than anyone else...one of those two is ideal because after that it's a bunch of guards and Brown who can't shoot and hasn't looked particularly good lately. I want us to have that great Suns offense, and there isn't any guarantee Brown will be an elite defender anyway. That's they hype and hope, but that's pretty much all he's got, and finishing at the rim isn't all that important in a SF.

So I think if we don't get Bender or Ingram (or Simmons), perhaps we trade down or trade the pick for a player because teams will overrate those guards there. Then take one of the power forwards with Washington pick. I take another PF with Washington pick even if we get one of those top 3 guys since that is our position we have zero depth and have depth everywhere else.
