I really like Dunn too, would have been nice to take him and Bender... and Chriss. :D

Devin Booker won't turn 23 for 3 1/2 more years.

Me thinks Bender will have to sacrifice some of that gazelle like mobility if he wants to tack that much onto his frame. Thats KD weight and he isn't much of a banger

Man, Jaylen Brown looks like a ghost in this game. 2-11 FG, 1-4 3-point, 6 points, 1 rebound. He was pretty much standing in the corner the majority of the first half.

Crazy! I totally forgot that. 18!?!

It's crazy to think that we got a solid 6-8 years before our guys(Book/Bender/Chriss & even Ulis) should be entering their prime.

Hopefully they are all still here then. Its hard to keep players.

how about you talk about how well the players that we do have did?

1. I like Ulis. He remindes me something from Isaiah Thomas. Small guy, active on defense, 7 assists and good stats. Devin Booker had a point when he said that Ulis is a steal in 2nd round. Well done dude.

2. Chriss is a beast. He is doing very well with the cut from pick n roll and his ability to jump high creates alley hoops for our PG. Rebound ability is in high level and he will find a special role in our team , as we need one guy to secure the ball.

3. Bender a 7-1 guy , has 1-7 from 3point range. Ok :noway: . This is unfair and bad strategy from our coaching staff. During 4th quarter i remember him to be in the corner of the court, waiting a pass. Why? He is not a guard or a point forward to be spotted outside the paint aera.
Although he had some good skills from midrange , posts up and hooks and that is the way to be a Pf or center. But we can be patient about him to be practised and i suggest that we need a veteran guy to teach him the PF position or center. Not shoots from 3point range . Post moves, good positioning after cuts or dives and complete his inside game (face game or post game).

MFW Chriss and rebounding are used in the same sentence

Funny, that's the same face I get when hearing Dunn and Assist used in the same sentence...

Had the same DReb/40 as a Freshman (4.6) did that Dunn had Assts/40 as a Freshman (4.6), yet Dunn was able to develop...I'm sure Chriss won't, though, right??

Definitely a possibility. I'm hoping that he can become a bit more explosive as he continues to grow into his body and gets put into a solid training program.

I don't think so, he can add some strength without losing mobility. He doesn't have to become huge. He might actually gain some mobility with a little strength training.

Flawed reasoning, there isn't a one to one comparison between those two categories. Chriss had the second worst defensive rebound rate among prospects in the last 30 years and played an entire season, he has knack for wading through traffick and getting offensive boards but how many opportuniteis will he get beyond his own misses if he plays away from the basket more as a true Stretch 4?.Dunn wasn't a first year starter and was sidelined early by a labrum injury that forced him to redshirt as a sophomore. As a junior and senior he was first and second in assist percentage in the nation, didn't drastically improve but kept up his level of production and was the main reasoning Providence wasn't an NIT team

I didn't see a ton (yet) that makes me think, "man we really blew it". It's summer league.
If he's great then there's nothing we can do about it. Boston passed on him too.

He had the same number of assts as their Bench PF!! WooHoo!! Same number as our starting C!! But, but, but...he played SG?!?! I'm sure that will be the response, but we all know he's a PG, and if the Wolves drafted him to be their SG of the future, then well, I don't know what to say other than, uh...not very good move, there...

He can play as an off guard because he's a god cutter without the ball in his hands, gives the mmre flexiiblity and awesoem dfensive backourt with Rubio. Obviously Lavine is their future at that position cauz he can make it rain

So, it's ok for Dunn to attempt to show versatility, yet others (not you, saint) are giving hell to our coaches for having Bender attempt 3s, etc.

Point is, some fans are acting like Dunn shooting 55%, 60% FT%, getting 27 pts, with as many TOs as Assts, proves that Dunn should have been our pick at 4, when Bender, at 7'1" showed great handles, rebounding (as did Chriss, BTW), effort, movement, etc., yet shot 1 of 7 from 3PT, well, what a horrible pick we made...

Saw the highlights of Devin Booker. He's too good for the competition, really. The game looked slow for him.

Yeah I have no qualms with Bender/Chriss getting the greenlight to showcase themselves, this is an exhibition game after all looked like AAU ball so gotta take it all with a grain of salt. I was hoping for a way to make out with both Bender/Dunn, but we would have had to take Dunn first and traded up in front of the Nuggets at the very least ( who knows the Wolves/Pels would have nabbed Bender as well0.

Bender looked awful today. Tyler Ulis will be a steal.

Thank you.

His shots aren`t falling today but Bender demonstrates a terrific motor, nice handles, good defence (he covers a lot of space) and generally a good feel for the game. Excellent prospect all around.

Bender had a bad shooting night, he's a lot more effective on the perimeter than he is on the post. Sure he can improve his inside game, but if you expect him to be a mid-range/inside PF, then you're going to be disappointed.

I will remind you that he is the #4 pick .
So if you telling me right now that we have a guy only to shoot 3's and not to be a mid-range/inside PF you have a big FAIL in your choise .
Those type of rookies are between #20-#30 (just like Portis) on draft.

It is the easiest thing in basketball , to deal a 7foot guy on the perimeter , by playing overplay, force him to drive , traveling or making a turnover pass.

Hahahahaha. The fact is that you 're going to be disappointed. I know very well bender , 3 years and i saw his euroleague games. But i hope our coaching staff to develop this player in order to be dominant. Dunn is ready

Here is why Bender should shoot threes. He is not physically ready to play in the post against NBA talent. At 18 years of age, his body still needs to mature and add more muscle. Coach Watson mentioned this in a radio interview with Doug and Wolf. He said Bender's post game will have to wait until his body is ready for it. Remember, Lebron did not develop his post game until his second season in Miami.

But KD was 215 at 6'10.25"

Bender is 225 at 7' .5"

...so 2.25" difference allows for more than 10 lbs difference in weight--closer to 20lbs, so if Bender can get to even 235-240, and he's likely a full 7'1" by now, that will be a similar frame to KD at 240lbs, I think, and should be able to maintain his mobility at that weight. In fact, today, he didn't look as skinny/frail as I thought he'd look...
