With the Lakers primed to compete 2 seasons from now, I think it's even more sensible for us to push the timetable out by trading for more picks (and keeping #4). I really, really hope we're not wasting time making plays for Butler, Love, or any other vet.

Then I would dangle Markkanen (7th pick) along with Jackson (4th pick) and a future 1st for Porzingis.

Im still about keeping #4.

Send Bledsoe and Bender (or Chriss) to the Wolves for Rubio and #7.

Package Rubio (Who the Knicks have really wanted for the past few years), with the #7, Warren and both Miami picks for KP. Thrown in whoever else they want with the exclusion of Ulis/Booker/#4.

I agree - don't go crazy for Love or Millsap. If you can get Porzingis - well that's another story

D'Angelo Russell and Mozgov dump traded for Brook Lopez and the Nets pick.

Lakers are going "all in" on forming the next superteam.

Also means Ball is the probable pick at #2, but I'm
not sure how well he would mesh though if the plan is Paul George + LeBron and thier current roster, he's not a scoring PG and LeBron is still going to be ball dominant.

Maybe Fox is a possibility? I'm fairly certain the Lakers are picking Ball, I just don't think he'll be a good fit

Gambo thinks that we are gonna pick Davon Reed at #32. He seems pretty sure about it 48 hours before the draft.

He projects to be a solid 3&D SG.

Hmmm interesting. I interpreted the Dlo trade to mean they were definitely picking ball, but I guess it just means they're definitely going with a point guard.

But I'm not sure Fox fits much better given concerns with his shooting. At least Ball has that going for him as a spot-up shooter in the half court.

Good point. They will pick Ball, trying to recreate Showtime 2.0. Good luck.

I don't dislike Reed, but I hope we don't pick him over Brooks or Hart if they are still there at #32

Yeah, I think I posted an article about him in the Second Round Prospect thread.

I think I'd prefer Brooks, but I'd have to go read about Reed (and Hart) again to know for sure.

I'd definitely prefer Brooks (I think he goes in the 20's though) but Reed over Hart wouldn't bother me, I like both of them but I'd lean towards Reed.

Totally. It’d be serious reach. Guys like Ojeleye/Hart/Bell/Brooks should be targets there as majority of them will be gone late first. One that remains should be grabbed.

Guys like Reed and Kadeem will almost certainly be available at 50’s.

Gambo can barely get the 4th pick right let alone the 32nd pick - Ryan doesn't know who is going to be there. Also mentioned the SMU kid - Ojeleye (sp)

If Reed from Oregon is there - that guy should be the pick - but leave it open.

I am guessing Barbosa will not be brought back

Dissappinted that we couldn't get Russell, but I'm pretty sure McD tried and the Lakers preferred to send him east where they'd only have to see him twice a year. Unbelievable that the Lakers used their promising number 2 pick to dump the guy who they signed at midnight a year ago. But they now have the 2+27+28 and cap room to work with.

I am not it is becoming clearer that he is more of a shooting guard and we already have a better shooting guard.

“We do a ton of intel, a lot of background on every player,’’ McDonough said. “We have dozens of reports. We have scouts go to practices, talk to just about every assistant coach. Talk to the managers, talk to the graduate assistants, the training staff, the strength and conditioning coach. People around the program. We vet all that and we’ll continue to do that.

“Obviously, I don’t want to comment on specific players, but there’s nobody in this draft – at least in the top grouping of projected lottery picks – that we’ve removed from consideration due to an off-court issue.”

“Over the next few days, we’ll have a meeting with our medical team to go over all our medical information that we have and make sure everybody checks out soundly that we’re interested in,” he said. “At that point, the scouts will submit their rankings to me, (coach) Earl (Watson) and (owner) Robert (Sarver), and then we’ll meet as a group to go over it. That’s an evolving process.

"Obviously, it’s subject to change in case you get any last-minute information on say Wednesday or Thursday but it will be set over the next couple days and then right before the draft we usually explore trade opportunities as well.”

At least 13 million in Celtics salary as to be outgoing in a Butler deal. The article is odd reporting at best.

So much talk, so little truth. I don't believe any of the crap that's come out recently including Boston saying no to Butler for the 3rd.

I figure we have a chance to draft Jackson, Tatum or Isaac and I'm fine with that, to hell with all the fake reports. Right now, I lean Tatum, Jackson and then Isaac but if Ryan and company are convinced that it's Jackson or Isaac first, that's good enough for me. I still believe in our front office despite the absurd Love stories and the Butler for the 4th reports that are sure to circulate now.
