Re: Season Speculation, Trade Ideas & Discussion Pt. 2
I'm trying to remember, but this all seems to have ramped up after Sarver took over. There were obviously other bad incidents in the past 50 years of Suns basketball, but I swear it seems to have exponentially increased since Sarver took over.
It started with the Joe Johnson situation. Then Marion. Nash. D'Antoni. Porter. The entire Lance Blanks/Lindsay Hunter debacle. Gentry/Majerle. Dragic. Isaiah Thomas. Morris Twins. Hornacek. Watson/Bledsoe.
Most people remember the incident(s) involved with the above mentioned players/coaches/execs (I'm sure I missed a few as well). The one constant in all of that is Sarver. There were obviously some bright spots during Sarver's time as owner, but I'd say those were in spite of him.
I know it's always been popular to hate on Sarver, but am I off the mark at all in pointing out the amount of embarrassing things that have happened under his watch? This organization can only truly turn the page once he sells the team. I honestly believe he wants the team and franchise to do well, but I just don't see it happening while he's involved.

Done. That would be a really good package.

Re: Season Speculation, Trade Ideas & Discussion Pt. 2
Denver has the most resources to make a deal.
Malik Beasley is a better prospect than Troy Daniels. Reuniting Trey Lyles with Booker and Ulis as a more polished stretch four would be a good idea. Arthur is better than Faried for cap relief and Faried is already complaining about his role in Denver. Plus Denver can offer a number one pick.
Arthur, Lyles, Beasley, #1 would be a great deal. The light just is never going on for Mudiay. Lyles and Beasley are not in the rotation at the moment.
We should then think about how good a fit Chriss really is. When McD was asked if it was Coach Watson's fault Chriss came in out of shape he said no- not that Chriss was in shape. Celtic's loved Chriss and almost took him at three. Smart may be on his way out after not reaching an extension. Chriss for Smart works straight up.
Then we have
Smart / Ulis
Booker / Bealey
Bender / Lyles
Jackson / Warren
Len / Chandler / Williams
and three 2018 first round picks

Man, I'd think about it. That Jackson deal sucks, he makes $18M in '19-'20.
Yeah, that's pretty bad. Wouldn't seem that bad if we didn't have Knight through that time as well. He's a better 3 pt shooter than Bledsoe though and about the same when it comes to assists, though ast/to ratio quite a bit better and he has had a really good assist year once, averaging over 9 per game.

Reggie Jackson was a huge crybaby in OKC. That could blow up in our faces and be worse than this Bledsoe situation. That being said it's a solid return for Bledsoe who requested a trade.

coming from a Pels fan, you dont know the meaning of the word humiliated, I'm sure the Kings ans Nets fans would have something to say about that too.
suns have had a wealth of good teams dating back to the 80s. Yea they are having a bad time right now, but the players they are losing dont fit the timetable and arent worth crying over, and the Suns have loads of assets.

Smart is a horrific shooter, but would be a perfect defensive PG next to Booker on the other side. If Jackson can keep hitting the 3 well, and Bender gets there, that lineup could be pretty good on both sides of the ball I think.

I'm not trying to compare scars. Humiliation is still humiliation. Plus as you said, the Suns have had a higher standard historically and these are def. the lowest points since I've been a fan.

Personally I dont think the Suns situation is that bad. The Suns management has been navigating the draft rather well, and has yet to reap the rewards of the Miami picks.
Id rather be rebuilding and tanking with lots of young players than finishing late lotto with Dragic Bled, and the Morri. I fully expect this team to be back on top of the West soon

If I had to bet, I'd say that the trade will be with the Celtics for Marcus Smart

That's highly debatable.
Sarver is the worst owner in the league. McD has done a decent job. Can you imagine working for Sarver?
Oh I hate the **** out of sarver. But I still think McD has mismanaged several situations and deserves a share of the blame.

50/50 shot on McD making those perceived mistakes. The biggest mistake as always would be thinking that Sarver is a reasonable person.

We can not trade 1-3 without ditching a bunch of guys.

If only we shared in your positivity, but... it's pretty difficult at this point. Rock bottom, though. Can only go up from there.

We need a PG coming back. I'd much rather Payton than Smart. We kind of have a SF logjam as it is.

The Celtics would give you some other assets and I think Smart would play the "fake point guard". Sharing ball handling responsibilities with Booker
