This sucks. Spencer seems like a good dude and I hope he still gets paid next year.

So dumb how the Lakers were able to add him, Schroeder and Harrell in the summer after winning the title. Is there any freaking doubt of them not repeating this season? Seriously, regular season is gonna be fun and games but Lakers are just gonna win another chip in the playoffs because their team is ridiculously loaded.

Does Josh Jackson have the tools to develop into a Joe Johnson type of player and be a number one or even 2nd option on a team?

When we drafted him we thought so. I saw he started tonight and had pretty good shooting #s.

Man Christian Wood with 20 pts on 8-16 shooting and 3/4 from 3 and a block...in the first half!

I wonder if we targeted him at all or just had our sights on Crowder the whole time.

I doubt it, I think if we really wanted him then we could’ve had him. We’re much closer to his hometown of Nevada plus opportunity of playing with CP3 & Book would’ve been enough to allure him if we had serious interest.

Marc Gasol signing doesn't bother me since that dude is old. Harrel is somewhat annoying, but he is exploitable in the playoffs. What really irked me was the Thunder gift-wrapping Schroeder. That dude is a menace, especially when he is surrounded by good players. I really wanted Schroeder for our bench, but no way Sarver was going to pay $16mil for a bench guy.

Schroeder wouldn’t have came here to be a bench player. He said it in an interview that he made it clear to his agent that he wants to start no matter what and his agent made it clear to whatever that acquired him that he won’t come off the bench anymore.

His agents made it clear to the Lakers that they shouldn’t trade for him if they won’t start him. So if he won’t come off the bench for the reigning champion Lakers then he definitely won’t come off for the bench for us.

Gasol still has game. His passing is still elite and he can still play 1 on 1 defense against most elite Cs in the game today. He’s awful at switching now and his rim protection has got weaker but he’s still very useful. He’s the perfect C for the Lakers because they can run pick and roll with him and Bron so well cause Gasol can find Bron for off ball cuts like he’s been doing.

I still think he can develop into 2nd option but then again I'm biased towards Jackson. The biggest concern with him has always been his attitude. If he can turn that around then I think he has every chance to become a very good NBA player. Detroit seems like a perfect spot for him. He can get lots of playing time with a good coach behind him.

Remember someone said we can talk badly of James Jones. Lmao. James Jones doesn’t know talent. He’s actually really bad at talent evaluation. I would say he’s worse than Ryan. Josh Jackson was still a number 4 pick on his rookie contract. Smh. Jalen smith? Are you kidding? Cam Johnson at 11 is that a joke. Traded up for ty Jerome. Come on. James Jones is trash in talent evaluations. Hopefully his reputation brings free agents to Phoenix cuz he isn’t the best.

I'm confused. Are you saying Cam isn't good? If it's true that other teams around the 15 range were angling for him, then it's more likely that no team wanted to move assets to move up a few spots to swap with us.

Smith we know nothing about yet outside of a promising first game.
We probably take Haliburton if we didn't trade for Paul is my guess, but with him, and with us aiming to re-sign Carter and already having Payne for another year, we had no place for him.

If we kept the Bucks pick we would have picked 30th this season with an equally good chance to pick a bad player.
We had to pick someone at 25 last year and needed a PG to groom. Jerome didn't work out and we moved him in the CP3 deal as OKC seemingly considered him an asset.

As for Jackson, he was a bad apple. Maybe he improves his game but his maturity was too far behind where we needed him to be for this team. If you knock Jones on him, also knock the Griz and any other team in the league for not even offering him more guaranteed money to keep him from Detroit.

The Suns have improved a lot with James Jones as a GM. That's a fact.

James Jones is an excellent team chemistry builder but a terrible talent evaluator. Cam Johnson is good but wasn’t 11th pick good.
There were plenty of better options than mr tortoise no handle pg ty Jerome.

Why should I knock the Grizzlies or any other team. They have so much young talent they don’t need him. They also got Melton in the deal have you forgotten? And we got little old Jevon carter who won’t amount to much more than what he is now.
He sold Josh jackson low and you never sell low. Everyone knows that. Except james Jones.
