Man Compazzo really blew a chance for Argentina to steal the game - especially after that unsportsmanlike foul on DA. Missed both free throws and has been a ball hog / chucker ever since.

The trio of Ayton / Hield / Gordon to this point look like enough to get them qualified.

It's not just height - it's athleticism at that size. There's not a single guy on that Agentina roster with even 2/3rd's of it. That being said he's hitting most of his jumpers and after the 1st quarter he's been contesting a lot more shots in the paint.

He must be feeling somewhat energized being the team's #1 option - but we know that will never be the case in PHX. Still don't see signs of any handles or willingness to take guys into the paint / low post. That's where I want to see the most improvement on the offensive side.

Agreed on his improvements. All I’m wanting from DA is to show us something new at this point. I feel like we’ve seen the same type of moves from DA since he’s been in the league. All of us can list each of his moves. This is his time to show it since he’s a #1 option. For the Suns, we just need him to be active and finish at the rim.

I think we’re gonna see a lot of Eric Gordon running the offense for us. EG has quick hands like CP3, I think his defense is pretty good. I can definitely see him closing games for us. I just hope he can stay healthy.

The lineup of EG, Book, Beal, KD and Ayron will be deadly. A ton of open looks for sure.

I liked Gordon doing backup PG in Houston vs GSW playoffs a while back.

Get a lot of spacing when the PG is hanging around 25 feet out with Beal staggered in the 2nd unit too then Watanabe, Bates-Diop, Bol, Lee etc... around the arc.

I tried adding this to the previous post but it wouldn't make the video playable without clicking the link. Weird

Damn, Ayton has shooting touch. Still amazes me how some people try to sell he's untalented athletic dude, who depends on someone like CP to make him look good. Imagine if he was working on it and was asked to do it more often like Amare who came to the league with zero shooting ability outside the paint and became very good at it. Ayton had the touch even as a rookie.

I've only seen the highlights, but it seems like DA is vocal on the bench. Looks like he has a leadership role given how few NBA quality players are on his team.

Big 4 + 6th man candidate. This should be one exciting season.

Like I said, if Ayton was on another team, as a 2nd or 3rd option with more usage. He would for sure avg 22/10

the only thing I would want to see this year is hustle on defense, and dunk when you can not try to do some lay up, get the for sure points without any risk

I watched that in real time and it was kind of funny. I'm sure he's a lot more comfortable acting like that in that huddle. I swear every time their was a timeout they'd cut to the Bahamian coach and he would literally be drawing up a play for Ayton.

After that timeout, things got a bit shaky for the Bahamas:

- Campazzo ripped the ball from DA and was about to jet down for a fast break easy bucket, but DA pulled him down by his shoulders which netted him an unsportsmanlike call. Compazzo missed both free throws.
- DA then gets another bad foul pushing Carrafo to prevent an offensive board
- Campazzo then goes total iso ball missing shots and destroys any chance of stealing the game

One of the things I was watching for was DA's motor/energy and at about the 6min mark of the 3rd quarter he already had his hands down on his knees while he was huffing a bit. So that's why I found his "they tired" speech so interesting. Then again they didn't have a single guy who could compete with him size wise.

Glad Ayton’s playing well. I’m not going to get too excited about it considering the level of competition though. A bit early to say he’s turned any corners when he’s clearly not matched up against NBA talent. I’d still love to see him start to get to the free throw line too.

What is exciting is that maybe it’ll motivate him to want to play well with for the Suns. I just hope his confidence, leadership and love for the game translates over to the NBA season. We will need it.
