OH MAN

During last season, without assurances that Love would resign with Phoenix. Wonder if we could have kept him over the summer.

Well, the Cavs players have been expecting Love to be traded.

How surprised were Cavs players today? When team meeting was called, some players speculated Kevin Love had been traded

And they have had locker room discussions about Kieff.

I cannot take credit for this trade - I was having a twitter conversation with Chris Stewart and somebody posted this -- the reasoning: Kieff gives them small forward scoring
Tucker gives them SF depth
Knight gives them two guard depth
Goodwin gives them ??

But, it was
Tucker, Kieff, Knight and Goodwin for Love and JR Smith

I would be all over that deal. All over that deal!!

I'm still puzzled about why he came back to them.
He was always supposed to be their whipping boy when something is ruined.

His self-respect level must be on a career low to accept this kind of bullying just to share a team with LeBron.

And I think something like Morris, Chandler, and Tucker for Love and Mozgov. Chandlers defense, rebounding and championship experience would look quite enticing. Same with Tucker. Even Morris is appealing to the Cavs. I think they would bite on this.

^Interesting, I actually pegged us trading a 1st rounder with Kieff/IT for Kevin Love last year. Now this year, maybe Knight/Morris + Clevelands pick for K-Love. I'm not sure if the Suns would be entirely interested because Love can't defend his own shadow and he's getting paid big bucks. I would certainly do it though. Love isn't going to make much of an impact with the current roster, so I imagine we continue to lose.

I think TJ would be involved in any Cavs trade.

And then next year

Chandler/Len
Love/Leuer
Warren
Booker
Bledsoe

We might actually make a playoff push. But the biggest thing would be taking out 3 birds in one stone - Tucker, Kieff and Knight all gone.

edit: Of course, would be nice to send Chandler packing as well.

Hey. This works. Kieff, Chandler and a pick to the Cavs. Love to the Lakers. Hibbert, Randle, Mozgov and right to swap picks with the Lakers to Phoenix.

Love and Booker means defense will be unbearable.
You will need KG or Duncan prime to even balance out the interior defense and maybe Kawhi Leonard to cover the perimeter defense.

Depends on the progression of Booker, Warren and Len. There are so many other factors that would go into a Love trade. Like, do you include Chandler if your goal is to make the playoffs next year (same thing with Mirza), do you include Warren if you are likely to draft Simmons or Ingram during the off-season, do the Cavs even want Knight with Shumpert, Delly, MoGotti and JR?

That's a steal for Phoenix depending on the pick. The right to swap picks would essentially give us the best chance of winning the draft. Also we get Randle who is a looking like a young double double machine and can run the floor like a dear. All for the price of Chandler & Keiff, two players we're looking to move anyway? Question is who (Lakers or Suns) would provide what pick to the Cavs. Don't think the Cavs would do this though.

If Love comes to Suns.

Chandler has to stay.

Warren is not ready yet as a defender so you need an Otto Porter or Ariza to start with Love to cover defense. Because coaches will just attack Booker and Love all game.

Bledsoe has his lazy plays off when he gets discouraged by his team mates defense.

Getting Love needs 2 to 3 other moves to balance out the defense.

You're basically trading a 1st rounder, Kieff and Chandler for Randle and the right to move up 1 or 2 picks at best.

Contrary to popular opinion, Randle is terrible. I watch the Lakers a lot and I would never want him on the Suns.

I do not know how realistic all of this trade chatter is. I find it hard to believe the Cavaliers would trade Love this quickly after he re-signed with them immediately. I certainly think the trade would involve Knight and Morris and probably the return of the Cavaliers own draft pick if it happens. Knight and Markieff plus the pick for Love straight up works in the RealGM trade checker. I am not a big fan of Love but I would trade Knight and Markieff for him in a heartbeat.

Maybe, but it isn't a title team. We should build around the 19-24 age range. I like love, and if we can get him for our scraps (Chandler, Morris, Tucker) and keep our own first, you do it. But I do that to move Love elsewhere or else as a stepping stone moreso than make the playoffs next season. For instance, I'd 100% move Chandler in that scenario. He's better equipped to play next to Love, but he won't be good by the time that team is ready to contend, so it's pointless to me.

I would rather get Irving than Love for age reasons. We still have a free trade chip to an extent with Knight given Booker's development.

I'm willing to trade TJ for Love. I view him as Lakers fans view Clarkson, a good efficient young player with a limited ceiling. Most likely a bench player or slightly above average starter.

Besides, you can't have a starting lineup with Booker, Love and TJ on defense.
