I still can't imagine giving assets away to unload a contract unless it's absolutely necessary for cap reasons.

Agreed. I do think there would be suitors who would give value for him. He's just not a very sexy acquisition at this point.

We were bailed out by Grunfield’incompetence, he made McD look like a GM who actually knows what he is doing. Can’t count on that happening again

Relevant question: Can a team even approach .500 with you at the helm?

Does anyone know why Hoopshype would have Humphries still on our books for $4.6M next season? I don't think McDoough would have bought him out if he had another year left on his deal. We'd have hung on to him in case we needed to include him in a trade this Summer.

I'm guessing it's not a mistake, but yeah, I wonder why we didn't keep him if he had that year forcing us to absorb the cap hit. Probably just Sarver wanting to save money realizing the cap hit will be inconsequential with the rise of the cap.

basketball reference says the same. http://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/PHO.html

Humphries contract next year is fully unguaranteed.

BTW, Basketball Insiders have the most accurate NBA salary info right now.

Kyrie for Bledsoe, Tucker, 28?

Suns get: Kevin Love/Gordon Hayward

Cavs get: Eric Bledsoe/Tyson Chandler/Trevor Ariza/Trey Lyles

Jazz get: Kyrie Irving + #28

Rockets get: Brandon Knight

Cavs surround Lebron around defensive oriented players. They have a team ready to run with Lebron at the 4, Ariza at the 3, Bledsoe and Shump in the backcourt.

Jazz get great value for Hayward who is expiring after this upcoming season. Lyles is added because Hayward's value dips a bit because of his expiring contract.

Mike DA wants a PG that can shoot the ball. Knight brings that.

Suns get Love and Hayward. Draft Dunn if we want to go more defense, or draft Murray if we want to go for a lights out approach. Deyonta Davis slips to 13 and we draft him there.
Murray/Booker/Hayward/Love/Len +Archie/Warren/Davis/fatdrunkguyeatingnachos

That's not bad value wise for all involved but I don't think the Jazz want to trade Hayward for Kyrie (they mentioned as much in the trade forum). They still have high hopes for Exum.

Wow. When I refreshed my feed and saw my notifications that you quoted me I thought, "Here comes BW raining on everyone's parade because the trade is somewhat lopsided in the Suns favor." You saying value wise is not bad is almost a backhanded compliment and I'll take it. :D

See, the trade makes some sense for all teams, but i doubt we could get Hayward just giving up Bledsoe&Knight, let alone attaching Chandlers contract to it and receiving Love as well.

I'm sure most Cleveland fans wouldn't think that is NEAR enough value for Love and Kyrie, but like you said, those types of players might be better fits around LeBron. But with Bledsoe's injuries, they'd probably be hesitant to do anything. I don't know if it helps their 3 pt shooting or hurts it...pretty neutral, but improves their defense. Still don't think they would beat the Warriors though. It will be interesting to see how tomorrow night's game goes.

Here is an interesting one on the trade forum.

Personally, this makes a ton more sense for the Cavs (Seeing as they are the main facilitator) if the Rockets are cut out completely.....and Knight goes to Cleveland instead.

Suns trade: Knight/Chandler/#28
Suns get: Love

Jazz trade: Hayward/Lyles
Jazz get: Irving/#28

Cavs trade:
Love/Irving
Cavs get:
Knight/Chandler/Hayward

------------

My love for Love is fading fast though. I'm beginning to believe that he's mentally breaking. From what i've see from him lately i just dont think he has the stuff to be a #1 or even #2 guy. He's a liability on defense.

This season he's shot 42% from the field and in the playoffs a putrid 39%. And to make matters even worse he's shooting an even worse 35% from INSIDE the 3pt. I dont think i could stomach that from a max contract player. I feel like he's become that volume shooter that appears to be doing well when he gets a boatload of shots, but his efficiency is awful.

If there is or was any trade with Jazz involving Hayward...

I want him on the Suns... I dont want to help Cavs to get him.

Hayward is a 2 way player I like... Would be ideal 2nd option on a contending team.
