This cracks me up because it's such a classic negotiation tactic. Tell them they can't have something that you're totally fine giving up in hopes they say ok well do it if we get him so you can ok you twisted my arm let's complete the trade.

Rich Paul pulling his string as a de facto LA GM and Anthony Davis' agent.
Sucks that Dell Demps is falling for this trap.

Demps isn't the GM anymore

Ohhh, it's David Griffin.
Just make this 'news' even worse, because Griffin is actually a good talent evaluator.
If he thinks Kuzma is their best trade chip, why would you even bother?

Get the best talent availabe for your team and screw Rich Paul.
CALL AINGE (see what Leonard did with Raptors)... - HEY, HE CAN DO IT IN BOSTON TOO.

Yeah there's a lot of "them" and "the raptors", then he quickly corrects it to "us" lol

Sad...
If GS doesn’t plan on maxing Dray... they might as well move him this offseason.

Wow. Holy ****.

I must admit I was a bit irritated GSW had so much firepower and I think KD's move was weak, but I'd never wish these two horrible events on any player or team.

This is why you play the game. Injuries happen. Things change.

GSW now must offer MAX contracts to players that both have career changing injuries and both might miss the entire 2019-2020 season.

Think about that! A max for a guy with an ACL, a max for a guy with a Achilles tear, and then you have to worry about Draymond (who is not worth a max, but may command a max).

Exactly. This is pretty much The Death of The Dynasty. GS is screwed.

GS is going to be awful next year. They haven't had money to spend on anyone else. They're going to roll out Steph-McKinnie-Iggy-Draymond-Jones. That's rough. Klay, Cousins, Cook, and Bell are all UFA. They will have a little money without Durant and Klay on the books but you have to think they give Klay his $30M a year anyway and then that's a rap for their cap space.

By the way, I'm definitely down for a Draymond trade if Golden State would be so inclined. I'd consider even offering #6 and Josh for him. I know he's 29 already and his shooting has declined a bit but damn if he can't defend his butt off and pass the ball. He's a bit overpaid but who cares at this point. If we could get his outside shot back to form I'm ok with a 10/7/7 guy at $17M/yr.

2 Top Tier Free Agents that they would have loved to and done anything to try to keep are now going to miss what is most likely the entire season next year......and no one knows if they will ever be the players they once were when they do return from injury. So as GS, do you roll the dice and pay them....or even one of them, pretty much giving away $30M+ a season (for each) while they sit out the entire season, or do you not offer them a deal and be stuck with a shell of a former team......while also being known as the team who dropped a very loved player once they injured themselves and pretty much ruined the rest of their career trying to save the team from the brink of elimination?

YIKES!!!

BIG YIKES!!!

They are pretty screwed either way with whatever they do. I mean they almost HAVE TO let Klay and Durant walk in FA so they arnt saddled with one or both of the contracts while not knowing what the player will even look like when they return in the fall of 2020.

Watch the Knicks sign both KD and Klay to max contracts, tank the season, NBA gives them the #1 pick .....which they then trade to Houston (With Barrett attached) for Harden.

Harden/Klay/?/Durant/Robinson

Knicks got to roll the dice.

Honestly I think Tyler Johnson is better than any of options offered in the poll
