So let's say Brooks tears it up.

Oh look, he's a RFA this season.

Someone will overpay him, and we won't re-sign him.

Oh look, we just traded away a big part of the future of this team and a first round pick for nothing.

Let's say he sucks.

Meh, put jwil on your foe list, and it becomes so much easier to read this board. Oh and please don't quote him, so I don't ever have to read his garbage. As far as the trade, time will tell, but I don't like giving up a first. So now we have givin up Blair, Hairston, a first, and $500,000, for Brooks. He better be worth it. :o

And therein lies the rub. We won't be able to re-sign him. And if we are, that means Nash is gone. For what?

I understand that Brooks can (and probably will) help us on the court starting tomorrow night.....but jeez if it isn't horrible for the future.

brooks will be effectively hidden behind nash for the rest of this season. Then we cna re-sign him and you know nash is a goner now -s so bascially brooks wont "blow up" until after nash is gone, which will be after we re-sign him to a decent contract

he definitely seems like someone who would relish the chance to stay in phoenix's system and replace nash

I'm with JVC, Ma Falla, BH & Rsavaj on this one.

We will regret this trade in the long run and maybe it won't be right away but in time Goran will burn us everytime we play his team.

Also how can anyone think he was unhappy playing behind Nash. He idolises Nash and it's also clear that Nash has enjoyed mentoring him.

Well Dudley did great and we signed him for a decent price. With this new CBA, it isn't bad to have guys that may expire next year. If someone really wants him, we can always do a sign and trade.

I am not a fan of the deal, but I don't know. Maybe something else is in place? Getting Millsap would have been baws.

But Vaj, Brooks is shooting 94% from the line, while Goran sucked this year from the line. Maybe not a game changer, but almost a thirty percent difference down the stretch might be great to have.

That is true.

Dragic's FTs troubled me the most this year. Leaving points off the board, you cant do that.

Because if we re-sign him to the deal he'll want to/be able to get, that would mean Nash is gone, and I just dont think thats gonna happen, or is wise.

That's an expensive alternative to a shooting coach .....

rsavaj summed it up brilliantly: they are so close as who gives a sweet **** except that Brooks will need to be resigned or let go in three months. No need to restate the problems with that, after they were so nicely presented a few posts ago.

Also, do a search for Brooks and attitude - it worries me.

I say by the end of the season Goran is starting

do u realize how scary good the suns would have been if they did land that Millsap deal for Lopez and Petrius? Gortat and Millsap would hold the fort down in the paint and not let anyone score while picking up 30 rebounds a night among the two.

WOW:

Gort/Frye
Millsp/Hak
Hill/Duds
VC/Josh
Nash/Brooks

I think I'll step away from the deal for today, think about it tomorrow. I know my emotions are clouding any sense of objectivity.

Eff Houston.

That's all.

That does not mean Nash is gone, Brooks does not make much more than Dragic and we would have had to resign him too, remember he was due a new contract.........

My emotions would be in a much better place if we would have landed Millsap :(
