Pierce has proved to make the big shots and his veteran leadership could push us into the playoffs. The plus is, he is also expiring after this year so it would be $15mil off the books. With that being said I only offer Okafor and a first (maybe another first) but absolutely none of our current players.

Giving up two firsts for someone who is isn't going to around in the future and will get in the way of Marcus Morris getting minutes? :o

League sources with knowledge of Chicago's plans say that they'll definitely be looking to deal Luol Deng before the Feb. 20 trading deadline. Deng is a free agent this summer and the Bulls don't want to pay him anything close to top dollar.

Lets get on this! Tucker and Indiana pick for Deng!

Deng has so many miles on that body...I have a feeling he's gonna fall-off big time once he's on the other side of 30. I don't want to be the team paying his next contract.

I think with his injury history, he may take a bit of a discount to play for the Suns training staff which could extend his career. Plus he will have a defined role as a 3 & D guy here who can do more if needed. He will hardly have to worry about creating his own offense here.

Not trying to troll, I thougt Deng was one of these "stars" your FO and fans really wanted.
which superstar are you guys interested in besides Love that is somewhat within reach?

The FO has said they are looking for "stars" 25ish and under. I'm not saying its out of the question form the suns to trade for Deng but there's no way they would deal dragic for him.

Someone mentioned pierce. I guess if all other moves fall through and if pierce could be had for okafor and the indi 1st (a couple 2 would be better) it would be worth considering. But kind of doubt the nets will deal him for an expiring. If they do trade pierce it will be for some over paid dude with some basketball value that the other team wants off the books. Nets would do it to at least get something and don't care about the lux tax.

Only way we trade for Deng is if our 25 and under trade target falls thru. Gasol falls into that category as well. Doesn't mean we would resign them. We would get them primarily for a playoff run.

I just don't think Deng moves the needle much for us...certainly not enough to justify the difference between his and Tucker's salary.

Anyone else feel like we revisit the same topics every 4-5 pages on this thread and everyone states the same opinions they did 4-5 pages ago? And 9-10 pages ago, etc?

We can stop talking about Deng now. Cavs just traded for him apparently, Bynum & a draft pick to Chicago who apparently in tank mode now.

Cavs also send a pick. Cutting Bynum saves the bulls a ton of lux tax money. Probably amnesty boozer this offseason and try to do a quick rebuild with their picks (they also can get the Charlotte pick I think) and the good Euro they have stashed.

Good timing for the Suns as we play in Chicago tomorrow :)

I would love to see Thibs and Noah's reaction when they learned about the trade.

Deng turned down a 3-30 extension?!? I don't want any part of him this summer. He's gonna be looking for a crazy ass offer apparently.

He may get it from Cleveland. Dan Gilbert has always been a fan of spending stupid money.

Word is bulls aren't done dealing. Wonder what the Noah price tag would be?
