The longer this goes, the more reasonable Bledsoe's contract gets. Right now I would say we are in the 10-11 million per year range.

To be honest, I'm starting to think he is going to take the qualifying offer and be an UFA. Which would really hurt the suns. Lose him without compensation.

Are you rubbing that in? Lol. But seriously, the hornets, for the first time under Jordan, are becoming pretty good.

Guy was injured almost half of the season...he's not walking away from 10-12 mill a year if that's what the best offer turns out to be.

Sure 9 mil a year for Lance is a bargain but I don't think it can be used as basis of what Bledsoe will get paid. Lance is a legit crazy person if he wasn't he would have got a max deal this off-season. The fact that 9 mil was the best offer out there for him should tell you just how crazy he is.

I would be flat out shocked if Bledsoe played for the QO he would lose a ton of money next season and it's a huge risk for a guy with his injury history.

Duece- I don't agree with you but I have to say I respect your total and absolute dedication to negatively lol

My guess is the Suns offered EB the same deal as Curry after his injury...4 yrs / $44M with annual increases and bonuses. If we get that, we're golden.

You have to be kidding.

Would you really want him representing your city/franchise?

Based on talent it could be a bargain but he is a keg of dynamite waiting to explode.

Basically every successful franchise with money available passed on him for a reason, many reasons.

Well he definitely had talent. And they only have him for two maybe three years. I think he is a head case but doesn't take away that it was a good signing. Jordan protected himself on that deal.

i thought he might get more

Wow, that surpising he'd take that over Charlotte's 5/44 offer. 8.8 million a year for 5 years seems better than 9 million a year for 3. Maybe he feels his value will skyrocket and with the salary cap potentially going way up, in two years he will be a big time player.

If Charlotte can keep him under control, they are going to be pretty tough, especially if Vonleh develops quicky.

Potentially? The NBA gets about $450 million from ABC/ESPN and $400 million from TNT. They expect this number to double. The salary cap is going up. I read somewhere in the range of $77-$83 million in two years. Setting himself up for a bigger payday in 2 years. Smart agent.

Yes, this would be one reason I wouldn't be totally surpised if Love doesn't opt out of his current contract, so he could be a FA in summer of 2016 (like LeBron) instead of signing a big deal next summer.

I am as impatient as anyone and would have hoped we would have done more thus far in the off season but overall there really is not much not to like about what McDonough has done and has not done.

Basically we have not over paid for anyone. Maybe slightly in the case of Tucker and Tolliver but not really over board. We did not get into a bidding war for Frye, whom I like, and he basically walked on his own with not much resistance on our part. If we signed him we would have basically used money that will be required to keep the Morris brothers around next summer with health issues as a concern for Frye. The Morris brother are 24 and healthy with potentially a lot of upside. I can understand the thinking.

I think Bledsoe fits into the same line of thinking that Frye does. Health issues and not wanting to overpay. I am still hopeful that we can keep him but if we vastly overpay we are setting ourselves up for a firestorm next summer with Dragic. The good part is that we hold the cards and whatever deal he signs this summer we will have the last voice. I have no clue as to the ending of this story. However we are in pretty good shape with or without him in the back court.

I am hopeful we can get a deal done with Bledsoe that is reasonable and that we can pick up another big like Ed Davis. I think that would make this a very good if unspectacular off season in my book.

I still think we could be lurking in the background in any KLove deal that goes down.

Very good and well thought out statement. Don't know if can say there is nothing else Ryan Mcd could have done or how he went about his business. But yes the suns did not overpay for the three players that they got more specifically Thomas. He probably overpaid for tucker but it's not like it's a huge amount.

Anyway good post.

@SportsWhispers: #Wizards are close to acquiring DeJuan Blair through a sign and trade with Dallas (ESPN)

Totally forgot about Blair

The Wizards will be deep. They could get home court advantage this year. Great offseason for them.

Nah, I think the Suns have made a very substantial offer and its on the table. He likes it. But they have also said feel free to test the market and if he gets a bigger offer, they will match. So there is no risk for him to go shopping. The problem is that it is not really shopping because everyone knows the Suns will match.
