Some people don't understand that logic. Did anyone watch the video? Deng was all over the place....driving....cutting....shooting.....passing.... With our fountain of youth (guys still 29) he'd be like that on a consistent basis.

+1

Paul Pierce was great last year at PF.

and Melo!

Please tell me you arent comparing Deng to Melo or Pierce for that matter, 2 HOF players.

Anyone care to do a quick recap on SUNS related news for the last three days? I've been away, just got home.

Gotta be smart deng at 12mil :noway:

Houston
Bosh,Dwight
Dallas
Dirk, chandler
Clippers
Griffin, Jordan
Grizzlies
Zbo, Gasol
Warriors
Lee, bogut (whenever healthy..)
Pelicans
Davis,asik

MAYBE
Thunder
Gasol,ibaka

Portland might be the only playoff team last year without a 2 big threat.
Do not pour money into deng do not be stupid.

Upgrade at 4,5.
McD exit video he said he wanted upgrades at 3,4,5.
Well the wing issue was lack of scoring he got that in warren.

No doubt in my mind he's looking at 4,5.

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

I liked trying to sign Deng if we were going to get Kevin Love for the Morris twins, and draft picks, but that isn't going to happen.

If we aren't going to get a superstar via trade (Kevin Love) or free agency (Chris Bosh), we may as well just continue to develop our youth and maintain flexibility so we CAN jump at the right deal when it comes along.

I like Deng, but I'd rather take a chance on signing some younger players with potential to reasonable deals and trying to extract their potential.

If we roll with a starting 5 of Bledsoe, Dragic, Green, Morris, and Plumlee, with Goodwin, Tucker, and Len off the bench, we still have a fun young team with lots of upside (+ our two rookies).

Good post. I am down with that. But what if Len has a Plumlee type growth?! What if we played the Twins Towers?

Dragic is a year younger than Deng, but they are not even closely comparable in minutes played. Deng played nine seasons of starter minutes (heavy minutes), even playing most minutes in the whole league in 11/12 and 12/13. On the other hand Dragic had only two starter seasons so far. Dragic has a lot more in the tank, unlike Deng.

I think Luol Deng is so overrated and way past his prime. He was not nearly as important to the Bulls anymore as people thought either. When he was traded on January 7, the Bulls were 14-18. The Bulls finished the season 48-34. So they went 34-16 without Deng. Not to mention, but they finished as the second best defensive rated team in the league. The main difference between Deng and P.J. Tucker is that Deng is taller, but his shooting percentages are not good. 43% fg and 30% 3pts (awful 3 point shooter). After just agreeing to re-sign Tucker and having a rookie that averaged 25 ppg in college ready to play, I have no idea why the Suns would want to give big money to Deng. He is barely an upgrade over P.J., if at all.

When we sign Deng for 12 million then we can all load up in my Explorer, drive to his house and throw eggs at it.

The Deng dragic age comparisons are absurd. Deng has a bajillion miles on him and has be a 40 mpg forward for years clearly in the twighlight of his career. Goran has one season of starter minutes and just made the all NBA team. Not even close.

This whole "don't sign Deng because you don't wanna be an 8th seed! SUCK!" crap is *such* nonsense.

You can't convince a superstar to come to a team that can't even get to an 8th seed by themselves. How are you expecting that superstar to come in *and* launch us immediately from where you want us to be, which is right near the bottom, immediately to the top?

You need to build the foundation for a superstar player to say "hmmm, you know what, if I went there, they could go from a 6th-8th seed to the top of the conference."

Getting good players does that. Deng is a good player. If not him there are some other good players, too. Is Deng at the top of my wishlist? Of course not. But I'm not going to act like a weepy vagina if we signed him.

You'd think we'd have gotten rid of this loser mentality after we won 48 games last year after being expected to win 20, but I guess not.

Ill tell you what since I believe you may actually be Deng's agent, if he is will to accept a deal similar to Tuckers Im in with your boy Deng, but I think you are going to be surprised at the amount of money you are able to get for your client.

Showing all offensive highlights from one game of Deng is not a good reflection of his skills. If you're trying to sell Deng, start with his defense, not the offense.
