Rising stars challenge is like the All Star Game for lottery teams. 4 Wolves represented. Shabazz Mohammed vs Robert Covington.

Good fun though.

Funny I just came here to say "why am I always much more excited about the Rising Stars game before it starts than while it is on?" Sometimes I wish these all star games were taken more seriously.

This one might actually have a little more D than usual.

Then of course I have UofA on ESPN beating down the Huskies.....at least I can alternate.

how many other teams in the league don't have an all star or a rising star?

I'm guessing none. Maybe now that AD is out they don't have anyone in either game but at least he was named an all star. Dallas would have maybe been there too until Dirk replaced AD. But those two just popped into my head...hadn't thought of all the teams. Charlotte?

Cody Zeller plays for them, I thought of the Nuggets and the Lakers

True I forgot about that, and Lakers would've had Randle if he didn't get injured

Kobe in the same boat as AD, he was named an All Star but can't play due to injury. So you can't include the Lakers.

The Suns don't need any of that.

All-Star or Rising Star.

More respectable to win without one of those.

Yeah, who give a crap...the only guy participating in the entire weekend is a guy 95% of the fans want out of here.

Pure genius getting IT in the skills challenge. He gets pissed hearing his name in trade rumors, wins the challenge, ups his stock. :D If he loses big time, everyone would agree he should go (at least many).

What was up with Aldridge saying Goran is clearly not returning to the Suns? Wtf!?

Then he names off Houston as a trade partner, but listed all of their assets that would play with Goran. So David, wtf are we trading Goran for exactly?

Every year I get suckered into watching this All Star weekend and every year I regret it. It's 60% self promotion, 35% awful commentary and about 5% poorly designed displays of basketball skills.

And whoever the host is... Succccckkkkks.

It was fun watching it as a kid but as the years went on I became more distant from it and don't care much bout celebrity game, all star festivitis and only enjoy watching all star game on Sunday. But it would be nice seeing players compete more to win like they do for MLB the side who wins gets more home games in the nba finals. I would love if they change it to that would make players play harder but could also result in injuries which would totally suck.

The rising stars play a lot more defense than the all stars though

I haven't watched anything having to do with All Star weekend in 10-15 years. Maybe longer than that. I was at a bar having a beer Friday night and it looked like there was something all star related on TV. Not the least bit interested.

I think Cousins will get in a fight in the All Star game tonight, because he's an a**hole like that.

Lol the East's starting lineup is basically the same as the Hawks. Korver just jacking threes like they're out of style.

Really. Now that's appointment TV. Finally, a good reason to switch to the All Star game.
