Kinda shows that pre draft evaluations can sometimes be completely pointless.

Tatum was supposed to be a non athletic, poor defender player that cant shoot.

He was even compared to TJ Warren by a few

Surprised at his 3PT% in his first season everything else is tracking about as expected.

I'm just glad we didn't pass up on him. No regrets with JJ, but man, if we could have had him I would be upset right now.

Philly really got shafted. Had they not made the trade, they still would have wound up with Fultz probably. Boston was taking Tatum no matter what.

I will never root for Boston (unless they play the Warriors) because of the Nets trade. That team is going to be a juggernaut for the next decade plus.

I think Tatum will regress to the mean eventually, but yeah he's already as good as Otto Porter with additional ISO skills, could be Melo Lite with a motor/passable D but his numbers are definitely inflated under the set plays of Steven's system. But I still think JJ has the higher ceiling if he puts its all together and he was outplaying Tatum the second half of the regular season without Booker

I think he's going to leave what he is now behind in the dust.

Check out this guy's 3 pt attempts and % in regular season vs postseason and past 5 games. What did they tell him to practice 3s all season long and in the playoffs when our opponent is least expecting it, we will have you unleash your 3 pt game on him?

http://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/2968439

He's another free agent this summer. Wonder what he'll get paid.

He shoot 2 less 3-pointers in 9 playoffs games than he shoot the entire season.

I have been watching the playoffs and I think that Tatum is gonna be a perennial All Star.

He has EVERYHING in his arsenal, the ultimate all around player. He is soo skilled... His defense is really good and he can handle the ball way better than expected. Amazing decision making. He can make damage in the post, mid range, 3pt, offensive rebounds...I mean, everything.

I would prefer him on my team over Simmons or Mitchel. All three are terrific young players, but I have a better feeling with Tatum.

Ainge is an amazing GM. It is what it is.

I think JJ would've looked a lot better and more poised in Boston and Tatum would've looked a lot worse here if that's the way it had gone.

Boston's elite, well executed system is worlds apart from our do what you want, no real roles or accountability coaching from the last few years.

If we drop to 4 I really want Michael Porter Jr as a consolation, he is like Tatum on steroids with 2 additional inches , superior athleticism and a smoother perimeter stroke, and could play the 4 as well in this pace n space league

Yup. Coming out of college, Tatum was always the more polished (at least offensively) player than JJ. Being on a lotto team with no real coaching certainly helped exacerbate JJ's lack of polish while being in a well execute offense with Tatum's polish and shooting ability made him look like a ROY candidate early onwards. I don't think Boston would've been any better with JJ though. Boston really needed his polish, BBIQ and shooting abilities to run that system well

I’m a big Porter fan as well.

I’ve seen some mocks in which he drop out of the top 7 which is crazy. If that happens I would trade Bucks pick, #16 and #31 to move up for him.

Imagine...Doncic, Booker, Jackson, Porter Jr & Capela....so much firepower!

Yeah, Porter, in theory (since I haven't seen him really in college fully healthy) is intriguing. I wouldn't be upset if we took him at 3. That would mean he checked out medically. I just think of a Durant type player potentially.

It's just hard to know without him playing, and it's also hard because I believe in Trae.

For a second I read that as trading out for Otto Porter.

I've always had MPJ pretty high on my board although he had dropped recently with other prospects moving up. I think I still like Young more but I do like MPJ about as much as JJJr, if his back checks out.

I wonder how he's going to handle the physicals. Is he going to make them available to only a selective few teams to get to where he wants to go?

He cant pass tho. It's amazing how different he is from Jontay.
Definitely a 3-lvl scorer in the NBA, already built like a truck.

Boston Celtics forward Marcus Morris -- never short on confidence, as his shot selection often confirms -- is ready to embrace the challenge of defending Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James.

On the eve of the Eastern Conference finals, Morris showered James with praise but also stressed how he feels he's one of the best in the NBA at making things tough on James.

"Personally, I think I'm probably the best guy defending him in the league, outside of Kawhi [Leonard]," said Morris.

Who are people pulling for in this series? It is very hard for me to pull for Boston, but Cleveland isn't exactly fun to pull for either, though I guess when you consider the fan base, it's one that isn't exactly used to much success in any professional sports, especially when compared to Boston.
