Re: 2022-23 Dynasty Season Discussion
So the only thing that I noticed is that you were able to input Pokusevski into your lineup on Sunday, even though Vanderbilt is still on the IL+ list and he isn't injured anymore. Unless you started active roster for the entire week I thought you couldn't make adjustments to who was playing if you have someone on the IL list that isn't injured anymore?
Essentially, I thought you weren't able to make any changes until the player that is on the IL list that isn't eligible to be on it is either dropped or back on your activated roster. And the only way to get them back on your roster is to drop someone else.

Interesting, I too was under the impression you couldn't change your lineup when you had a healthy player in an injury spot. Which is a good safe guard for gaming the system.
I don't have an issue is someone leaves a guy on for a couple days, that happens especially if you're not checking daily. But yeah we shouldn't be gaming the system and leaving them there for weeks.

Re: 2022-23 Dynasty Season Discussion
This isn't the same scenario as having a healthy star (or even a role player) on IL and dropping one of your scrubs - nobody cares about that and it has happened countless times already with nobody saying anything...because that isn't an advantage. You're not "gaming the system" by leaving a decent player on IL when you have scrubs available to drop - you're shooting yourself in the foot. As a side note, for the sake of competitive integrity I do wish KylerMurray would activate Christian Wood...
The better comparison is (again) if hypothetically a bottom/rebuilding team has an entire team of prospective young players, as young project players essentially have the same value. Ex lets say someone picks up like Ousmiane Dieng (or however you spell that) after their Nassir Little gets injured. When Nassir Little is healthy, there is basically 0 reason to drop Ousmiane Dieng or any other player on the roster because everyone on the roster has the same approximate value.
The reason this is an advantage (with ZERO drawback, mind you), is that the rebuilding team isn't even trying to win. They are essentially able to stash more players than their competition (their competition being other rebuilding teams) because of injury. In fact, if we don't police IL and rebuilding teams start exploiting this, this means that those teams should WANT their players to get injured so that they can stash more players. Contrast to my case - as a top team I have no incentive to hope my players get injured.
There is also another scenario where you can leave healthy stars on IL and tank for a high pick, and play healthy scrubs to meet games played...I suppose people could do this by putting the stars on their bench anyway. But we can punish this sort of stuff by dropping the offending team a draft tier.
I also thought this was the case, nor is there any way to change it. I think Yahoo might allow this because even if changing your lineup with a healthy IL player was forbidden, you could set your lineups waaaaaay in advance whilst the player was still legitimately injured to get around it. I am not able to add players from FA or waivers, but I can still make trade offers, as well as trade offers with healthy IL players.
I am in favor however of doing something about it, but quite frankly Id rather stuff like this be resolved in the offseason. To get everyone on the same page we have to get them all into this thread and some managers disappear from the forum for weeks whilst remaining active on yahoo.
Also with players not being as frequently out this year because of Covid, I do want to reduce IL+ by one, so we have 2 IL and 1 IL+.

You can make changes to your lineups wih a healthy player on IL. I just don't think you can add/drop other players.

Ultimately I don't think it should be policed, but more the honor system used, but we added extra injury slots because of COVID and tons of injuries for people, and all the rest days (but primarily COVID) and it's fine with injured players, but to utilize those spots simply to deplete the talent pool for others even though you have healthy guys isn't what IL is intended for. In fact, it should force you to drop a player and move someone off IL if they are no longer eligible to put there if they are not there already.
Would you be fine if others moved players who were not even injured at all, to IL because they were not contributing and were young prospects not playing much, so you could add more players?
I imagine not. If we had instituted that designated prospect slot that you couldn't play all year, then fine.
But the whole point of dynasty is making tough decisions like wheter you should drop guys that help you compete or the guys you want to keep for the long haul because you hope they develop into good players.

Re: 2022-23 Dynasty Season Discussion
Are you able to make trades of players that are on your IL list that are healthy? I thought if the trade was accepted, Yahoo would tell you you have too many players on your list of active players, so again you'd have to drop someone?
Ultimately, I don't care too much as long as everything is fair. I didn't think Sunskerr was cheating or anything of that sort, but I thought it could have been possible that commissioner gets some kind of power where some rules didn't apply and maybe Sunskerr was just unaware that he was able to rotate players being played while someone was on the IL list that shouldn't be, while other teams didn't have that ability. Since it appears not to be the case, I don't see any reason to change anything. The only thing that should be changed is either the IL or IL+ should be reduced by one instead of having 2 for each.

Re: 2022-23 Dynasty Season Discussion
I think eventually, Sunskerr will have to make the decision on who to drop, in order to get some players back on his active roster, such as Jarred Vanderbilt and Jaren Jackson Jr. Okongwu I could see staying on your IL list because he isn't producing with the current construction of the Hawks roster. I see Sunskerr dropping Payne once CP3 is back, probably Mason Plumlee once JJJ is back to being healthy, and probably Jalen Williams simply because it's hard to trust whatever it is that OKC is doing with their players. None of those guys are surefire keepers, however I could see Sunskerr trying to make a 3 for 1 trade of some sorts since the rest of his players look fairly young and have potential.
I assume SGA, Trae, Ingram, and even JJJ are for sure staying, but I could see Sunskerr attempting to package Pokusevski, Sengun, Huerter, KPJ, Bol, Vanderbilt, and Okongwu for something. Good luck finding someone to trade!
Also just took a look at Trae's stats. Didn't realize he took a huge hit to his FG% this season with Dejounte Murray as his backcourt teammate. I'm really wondering what Orlando plans on doing with Bol, or Isaac, or Bamba. I think Banchero should be the 4 in this modern era of basketball.
Also JJJ is planning on playing tonight!

Re: 2022-23 Dynasty Season Discussion
Let me preface again by saying again that I agree that healthy players should not be allowed to remain on IL. I'd prefer not to have to use an honor system and would rather have something concrete that ultimately applies to everyone.
Nobody is asking other owners here to drop Pat Bev (4 ppg). People are asking me to drop THREE of Mason Plumlee (10/10), Cam Payne, Jalen Williams, Okongwu, and Vanderbilt. If I drop three of these players, I have to make sure everybody in the league has adequate time to know that they will be on waivers. It would be unfair if I dropped them and someone didn't check the app or website, particularly because I am being pressured to do so and a potential rule change is coming.
So in other words we have to make things official and everybody has to know about it with ample time before any of these players are dropped.
As a competing team I do not want my players to get injured, so you cannot ask me if I would move healthy players to IL or IL+. I want everyone available because every single player I have should be rostered.
But that question does apply more to the hypothetical scenario I outlined twice in previous posts, where I explicitly stated that rebuilding teams do (as of right now) have incentive to hope their prospects get INJ, O, or GTD tags. So the answer to that question is, yes, if I was rebuilding, then I would want my players to pick up a sore ankle or whatever, so I could pick up another prospect. And on that grounds I do not like that healthy players can remain on IL.
If you have any ideas about how to implement it then please pitch. We can also just reduce IL+ by one now with Covid health and safety not being a thing anymore. This is concrete. Would prefer it to have been done over the offseason, but imo it's something I overlooked and yeah, we're seeing the effects of that now on my team.

Ultimately I don't care that much...at all really, but can see where bigfoot was coming from. You mention how good those 5 players are as if that is more of a reason such a rule should not be enforced, but that is the exact reason it should. Lets say you have 15 players eligible to play on your roster because old injured players are on IL, but someone else has 7 active players and sees a depleted FA pool because others are leaving some of their healthy developmental guys in IL spots.
I can just understand why someone would have a problem with that. Being as it's just a game, I don't really care that much. I don't even look at other people's rosters other than once or twice a year....and don't often go look at FA pickups unless when I am editing my lineup I notice someone is out.. My lineup rarely changes until I see an injury. Actually just looked to see Bane is out for a few weeks. So he gets to join Middleton on my injured list...and Bazley.

Re: 2022-23 Dynasty Season Discussion
Yeah, ultimately it is just a game, but as the head commish I'm totally interested in fairness and if there's ways to make things more fair, then we should. Unfair games are not fun. But being fair also requires that everyone be aware and have adequate time to prepare.
I also just love team building and think its the best thing about basketball
love scouting prospects and developing players so that's why I'm probably more inclined to sit prospects out on the IL+ slots.
I definitely agree that it's cheesy to have Okongwu and Vandy healthy on IL (I wish yahoo would automatically enforce IL eligibility i.e. lock lineups until resolved), but its tough because the question of fairness arises because those players are good whilst the rest of the active team is stacked. I could make the same argument for Pat Bev and RoCo but nobody really bats an eye because they are older vets averaging 4 ppg despite coming off solid seasons. They could easily regress positively and you could speculate the owner is taking advantage of the IL to do just that.
Also now if I drop players according to what we've discussed today, every manager needs to know... Like I can't just drop a guy contributing player or keeper prospects after discussion from other players because the owners who consistently read this board would have an advantage over someone who is just using mostly the app and checking the forums every few days. That feels like borderline collusion unless everyone knows.
For example, if Okongwu suddenly appeared on waivers, that's a Rob Williams-level of potential guy appearing on waivers for a rebuilding team, and if you stepped away from the league for a day or two and are not an active reader here, you wouldn't have had a chance. But if you did read the forums you'd know that I'd be planning to drop a potential keeper.
Also I looked on yahoo and unfortunately it says I cannot reduce the IL+ size mid season (I can only decrease it). Understandable, but annoying. That would have helped prevent stashing in the IL+ spot (players get GTD/O tags more often than INJ) and back on the playing roster or into FA. **** lol maybe we should just do away with IL+ entirely next year and go with 3 INJ since h&s protocols are not a thing anymore. This seems to be a problem exacerbated by IL+ slots and we can mitigate it from happening without IL+, which was actually created because of the covid crisis.

I feel like you can drop any player and you don't have to make any announcement of any sort. It doesn't matter if they are good or not. I mean, we can change the waiver wire to 2 days instead of 1 day if that helps.

Re: 2022-23 Dynasty Season Discussion
I don't think every player needs to be notified if those guys are dropped. It's not like those guys are world beaters anyway. Payne's last game would have hurt in the FG% dept.
If you did want to notify people on a rule change or that people are hitting waivers, you can email all managers from the league page, or you could quote them all in a post here. We should probably have everyone quoted in one post that we an reply all to if we want everyone to be notified of something, but I doubt people care about this that much.

Well, looks like the IL situation sorted itself out.
Sad to let Okongwu go but I didn't think I'd be competing this year. Last year I was so happy to find Okongwu unclaimed in FA. Definitely a very nice prospect at center.
Also bit surprised I couldn't find a trade with all the young prospects I had.

Now the team is rated R. No, I know (think) that name has to do with Paul George.

I am collecting everyone's least favorite players. My team would be so hated IRL. Name might need to change with PG no longer being the best player on the team.
