Ayton spent most the game on switches against guards. Malone's game plan is Milwaukee's. Force the Ayton switch and then crash the board with both wings and Jokic. And our pansy ass team refuses to box ANY of them out.

I'm no Jason Kidd fan but he generates a ton of 3s with 1 less efficient supserstar than the 2 we have. Monty's entire gampelan should be geared around 3s for players in THIS order: Book / Durant, Lee, CP3, Ross, or dunks for Ayton / BIyombo.

Instead we get push shot floaters from our bigs or contested 2s for our guys and it only works b/c those guys are historically good at those contested 2s.

You cannot just ignore math and win this series. It shrinks the margin of error so very much. Suns will not shoot better form 2 the rest of the way. They either will defend and start paying attention to 3s and the value of offensive rebounds or they are going home with the most talent on the roster YET AGAIN.

Said this time and time again, the 3PT is the great equaliser these days when you don't have the talent advantage. Clippers were able to keep games close because they weren't afraid to shoot 3s and had an offense that got them 3s.

Top to bottom they are the better team, coach included. We might win 2 games, but easily could get swept. It would be fitting. We have to get good games from 3 guys other than Book and KD to win at this level. Thats just not happening.

Even with the footage of Ayton I posted earlier, I’ll say this loss isn’t mostly on Ayton. We have had losses where you can clearly point to him but this isn’t it. He’s a big part of it but it’s not mostly on him.

This is on Monty. Suns have no rhyme or rhythm to what they’re doing defensively and there’s zero plays being run offensively just iso chucks. Very few 3pt attempts and again he has no idea who to play off the bench.

Monty should’ve been fired after losing by 60 to the Mavs last season. I hope Ishbia’s stupid ass can see this and fires him because that’s the only way he’ll get any chance at a ROI on his stupid ass trade.

And back to the Ayton front, Ayton should never have been brought back after he beefed with Monty who is a terrible HC but is a super likable coach by basically every player in the league except DA apparently. That should’ve been a clue. And considering how much Ayton gets yelled at by even the Suns players themselves like Booker/Durant/Craig/Bridges (when he was here)/Payne etc on the court, he’s not well liked in the locker room either. Nobody in the NBA respects him as evidenced by Mitchell Robinson trolling him on IG earlier this season calling him soft.

Matching his contract was stupid as hell. And now we’re stuck with him because nobody wants this big of a contract unless they can dump a bad contract of their own.

Ayton played lazy but I'm sick of losing titles watching guys like Jrue Holiday, Christian Braun, and insert random undersized role player here grab game changing offensive rebounds. 3 years now of watching CP3 standing under the hoop yelling at the big guy after guys like Braun get boards.

When other teams double the screen on Book / Durant and we make the pocket pass to Ayton, we are playing 3 on 2 (because our 4th guy is always above the elbow / out of play). If Mike Malone was our coach Ayton would either 1. Dunk, or 2. Pass to one of the 3 point shooters and the opposite 3 point shooter AND Ayton would go for the offensive board position AND the shooter would crash as well. Math dictates we should do this because it is a fast break situation. Or, the 4th guy should CUT from the elbow to the hoop as a release valve.

Instead, under Monty, the SECOND the offensive player releases the ball, whether that is Ayton's floater or the corner 3, ALL players other than Ayton and sometimes also Ayton immediately leave the area to go back on D, where we are not exactly juggernauts to begin with. We have an overwhelming talent advantage but Monty's scheme v. Malone' is going to ruin it for us unless Book / Durant can save us themselves.

Also, one way to beat up a fast break team is to crash the glass and punish the early leakouts. Again, we NEVER force another team to adjust to us.

Serious question Slim, do you truly believe we choose to specifically block out DA from our view? ie We watch both teams play but somehow are blind to DA on the court and we're just making up lies?
