KLove - can't imagine Minny being dumb enough to let him go.... no, wait

seriously, that would be an incredible turnaround for us

question - why is everyone so much hotter for Smoove than Love? Whether its likely or even possible we get either aside, just forma talent standpoint, I think Love is the ideal guy for us.

I was thrilled with the trade that brought Richardson and Dudley to PHX, though at the expense of losing Bell. Didn't care about Diaw. Still don't.

I'm thrilled with this trade.

We've essentially turned Barbosa + Bell + Diaw into Carter + Pietrus + Gortat + Dudley + 2011 1st + Cash.

Break that down:

Barbosa - streaky, head-down combo-guard with no passing or playmaking ability.
Bell - best piece outgoing for PHX in my opinion, lockdown defender with mean 3 ball
Diaw - one of the worst contracts in the league at that times, talented but incredibly lazy

for

Carter - one of the leagues most valuable assets come this offseason, if not the trade deadline. Still capable of dropping 20+ for us with regularity.
Pietrus - lockdown defender with mean 3 ball.... hmm, sounds familiar
Gortat - Wow. Someone who rebounds, defends the post, blocks shots, can run the PNR and finish around the rim. I never thought I'd see the day. Best asset in this extended trade. On a great contract.
Dudley - We all know what he's capable of, though we have to remind ourselves as of late. Still one of the best heart/hustle players in the league and on a great contract. Another "Bell" type of player. We like those.

Cash + 2011 (late) 1st - Pure gravy. Guys, we actually have a pick OWED to us now.... Wow. Another "I never though I'd see the day"

It's always much harder from a fan perspective, but this "extended trade" is remarkable in terms of basketball FO management.

I'd much rather get Love than Smith, but I think a Smith deal is more probable. If Love wasn't beasting like he has been lately, it might be a different story. But letting him go now... there would be riots in the streets and Kahn's head on a pike. Though, if there's a GM to offer his head for the piking... it just might be Kahn.

Lopez + Childress (or Dudley, Pietrus) + PHX 2011 1st + ORL 2011 1st + Cash for Love + Pekovic

PG - Nash / Dragic
SG - Carter / Pietrus
SF - Hill / Dudley
PF - Love / Warrick
C - Gortat / Frye

ORL and PHX are both, as of this moment, playoff teams. Late 1sts are inherently less valuable. Take that Cash from the ORL trade and flip it to MIN. Absorb Pekovic.

Does that have a snowball's chance in hell?

I think that Kahn may secretly be in the employ of Isaiah Thomas, and the whole thing is a plot to get people to forget what he did in New York ... it's the only explanation that makes sense

Hawks are not going to consider blowing up their core for anything less then a top 10 talent.

Zbo only realistic catch that improves the Suns.

The PHX/ATL/POR 3 way doesnt have to wait till Feb.18th, we could do 2 separate trades:

1st. VC to POR / Josh Smith to PHX / Miller+Przybilla to ATL.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2dkdjdn

2nd. Lopez+TE to ATL / Bibby to PHX.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2c65chh

Nash/Bibby
Dragic/Dudley/Childress
Hill/Pietrus/Childress
Smith/Warrick/Lawal
Gortat/Frye/Barron

With these Smith trades everyone is mentioning can we look at this from ATL's point of view for a minute?

I've seen Dre Miller/Lopez to ATL and they are sending out Smith. I've seen Lopez and VC for Smith.

Why would ATL send out JSmoove for Dre/Lopez or VC/Lopez? They aren't burning to trade Smoove away so the suitor is gonna have to pay the price, and he's top talent.

They dont have the cash to pay for all of them. There were reports that they were looking to move Smoove and put Horford back to his natural PF position. They need a PG that can distribute as Bibby playing 30 minutes just aint cutting it. They just gave Horford a 5 year deal, JJ a 6 year deal, and Williams a 5 year deal, so they are looking to pick up a PG and a C with Smiths $11M contract.

Yeah maybe I'm just feeling bitter from that :D

But yeah Kerrsed you make a good point. I personally don't think Dre Miller is the right PG to put next to JoeJ but that's another story I guess. And even if ATL is strapped for cash I bet they can do better than VC/Lopez

A 3 way definitely does NOT have to wait till Feb 18 to be done. We do not have to include Lopez or any other player with VC. He's $17mil contract means we need to get around $16 mil back in contracts, so we'd do something like VC to Portland, Miller to Atlanta, Smith and somebody to us (Pryzbilla?). Then maybe send Lopez to Atlanta via a seperate trade for a draft pick or cash?

I would argue that no one on the Hawks currently are a top 10 talent. How is it they can blow their team up and expect to get "top 10" talent back?

Let me reiterate what I posted.. The Suns are looking into the possibilities of those trades. Of course, the Hawks are the ones who at the end of the day will have the last say . If it was up to the Suns and blazers, this would of been agreed in principle already. I personally think that if the Hawks pull this deal, their GM should be fire.

The KLove interest is all coming from Phx. What the Wolves would want or even if they are considering trading him is unknown. I personally would prefer KLove before JSmith or Nene. Why? Because KLove game is based of IQ and effort, meanwhile JSmith and Nene are in the NBA because of the athletic ability and have been labeled as low bb iq.

Memphis is trying to get rid of Mayo and Thabeet so putting together a package is pretty realistic. I dunno what they would want for Z-Bo tho.
