Something I'm not certain was mentioned yet was, how great of a move was it for McDonough to pick up the Morris' options this past summer? Especially Kieff? I didn't want to for either so they'd be forced to play well. Now, instead of paying Markieff 6-8mil this offseason, we get him for under 4 for one more season. That's a huge savings for us.

Are you surprised? K Love was socialized by American basketball media just like everyone else. NY, Chi, and LA is the only markets that matter........players want to be apart of that. That is why you build the best team you can and not wait around for guys like Love, Melo, and Bron. You just take the best out there and compete........ Hayward or Gay is the best we are going to get!

Think Detroit Pistons!!! That is the only team to win multiple championships without a super super star....it can be done. They done it in two different eras.

NFL>NBA. In the NFL doesn't matter who you root for, your team has a chance.....hell LA hasn't had a team in 20 plus years. That is how much big markets matter in that league!!

Honestly, Monroe and Gay/Hayward would be wonderful.

A lineup of Bledsoe/Dragic/Hayward or Gay/Monroe/Plumlee makes us a title contender.

Besides, we got our superstar in Bledsoe. Archie and Len are next up once they develop.

What's it going to take (average $$ per year) for the Suns to extend Dragic before next season, and avoid his free agency? 15 to 17 million average per? That's what I'm thinking...and thinking he's worthy of those type numbers.

If the Suns keep their promise and do match what I'd guess will be a near max offer for Bledsoe, the Slash Bros. cost will be pushing/roughly 30m a year for the tandem over the long term.

Not sure if this would be the best use of 30m per year. Not completely sold on Eric, especially when he's out there without Goran. A smallish starting backcourt too, if you're talking title run.

If for no other reason than gauging Bledsoe's value, I'm hoping the Suns get in the playoffs.

I'm not worried about their size, Bledsoe has the wing span of a small forward and that's far more important than height IMO. I can only think of one game this season where our guards size was an issue and that was against Brooklyn.

Wow...
15-17 million for Dragic... After 1 season?

I doubt some team will offer him anything over 12 million when he is FA.
If Dragic keeps playing like this for next season also... I still don't see him getting over 13-14 million.

He is an awesome player and absolutely valuable because he is getting 7 million...
Once he starts getting paid near max... Anything less than 20 a night his aura and value would go down...

15-17 million are for players that are absolute elite at their spot.... Dragic would need to be a 20/8 with good defense from now on and for the next 4 years to be worth that near max money.
Bledsoe is more likely to be a 20/7 player with elite defense assuming he is healthy.

I'd pay Dragic no more than $12 mil, because of his age alone. Had he been just a few years younger, he could get the max. He's gonna be 30 in a couple years, and that's where the decline starts.

I've seen fans on other teams' forums as well as analysts mention he is worth $15 million+.

Well, except for Nash. He was 30 when Phx signed him in 2004 and his prime was just about to begin. I'm thinking Dragic is just hitting his prime too.

Bledsoe/Dragic making 25m a year isn't overpaying. What contenders two best players aren't making more than that?

Parker/Duncan
Paul/Blake
Lebron/Wade or Bosh
George/Hibbert
Dwight/Harden
Durant/Westbrook

Pretty much all of them are...

I may get ridiculed and he may be a tad overpaid but I think Josh Smith would be an excellent addition to this team. A good coach is what this guy needs. Right now he is launching 3's which is not his game. But he continues to go it at a poor percentage.

He has the athleticism, he plays good defense, he can rebound and attack the hoop. I think with good coaching he could be an all-star again. Would probably be able to trade for him easily (even possibility of swapping first round picks potentially). Shipping Morris and Frye may get it done. Thoughts?

I'd pay Steph Curry 14 million-15 million max... And he is arguably better than Dragic and much younger... Dragic at 15+... Suns fans would probably end up whining more about him... Because at that money you expect bare minimum superstar numbers on a nightly basis which he won't do...

With Bledsoe next to him, he is a 16-17ppg 5apg player.... and the suns are a better team that way too since Bledsoe does well defensively.... With those Numbes and role... Will you be happy to pay him near max?

11-12 million 3 year extension would be ideal.

Sure, a deal like that would be preferable. But if someone else offers him $15 million a year, we could lose him if we wouldn't go higher. So I guess you have to choose. He's better than Bledsoe and deserves more. And Dragic is 27 by the way. Best case scenario is we can pay them both around $11-12 million and they are both happy since they play the same roles and that is the market for most top tier pgs outside of Westbrook and Paul.

Hopefully since the league is close to being flush with solid point guards, that would bring the demand and market down, but people are starting to call Dragic a top 20 player now.

Extend Dragic early, show him the love, keep his All-Star incentive in there.

$12.5 per year for an extension + $1m should he get nominated to the All-Star game. He could jump up to $13.5m and ride out his last big contract with the team that game him the ability to do so.

I'm less certain re: Bledsoe. I'm more comfortable just leaving that chess match up to McD. He's an RFA after all.

I'd be fine with Dragic's deal as follows
10 Million base
+1 Million for All-Star
+1 Million for All NBA
+1 Million for All NBA Defensive
+1 Million for top 5 MVP

If he performs at an Super star level, he gets paid like one...

This should be on all contracts... base + rewards, just like most real world jobs.

He would decline that and some other team would offer $12 million + incentives.

Fairly certain Irving or Waiters will be traded. The both play better without one another.

Dragic will be 29 when he declines his Player Option right? The highest I'd offer him would be a frontloaded deal around 44-45 M for 4 Years.

1. Year 12.25 M
2. Year 11.50 M
3. Year 10.75 M
4. Year 10.00 M

That seems fair. If possible Bledsoe should get a similar contract or a slighter higher paid contract.
