It's easily possible that Hood wanted to get in tight with up and coming high school players, maybe even to represent them in the future. I'm sure the twins had many people coming at them, for a future agent would get two clients together.

But again, everyone is going off Hood as a source. I am not bending over backwards, simply pointing out that every report uses Hood's comments as truth. He said that all five guys attacked him, but InLen's roommate claims that Markieff did nothing. So maybe Hood is not telling the truth? And according to you, if he lied about one thing, maybe he is lying about other things, like mentoring them, and supporting them financially.

Let me ask you something, mate. If a guy knows your mom well enough to text her AND be in a picture with you, are you going to say you don't know the guy? You'd have to be, well totally oblivious not too know said person, but I guess it is possible. However slim that may be.

In all honesty, I've had people connect with me on facebook and share a hs picture with me and her in it and I sit there and think "I have no recollection of this have truly have no idea who this is" but at least I pretend.

Sh*t, I have picture of me and girls that I have been somewhat intimate with in early college life, and I couldn't tell their first name. I wouldn't say I know them. Not the best thing to admit, but that was twenty plus years ago. I can't even imagine how many people the twins met/meet just because of basketball, and there has to be a ton of people who say they know the twins, and I'm sure they really don't. Then add the fact that they aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, and it's easy to see how they could say they don't "know" somebody.

Either way, it was stupid of them to put themselves in the situation, and bad for the team. The facts in this case seem pretty weak, and I'm sure their lawyer will get them off. The damage has been done though, and it will hinder any possible trades we may have had lined up, or future deals. Man, those two better work on their game this summer!

Alright, time to do some research into Hood. I found this article from 2000. Words like volatile and slick his way out of practice popped up. Hard to work with, was another. He almost came to blows with a teammate in Europe. Interesting stuff.

http://articles.philly.com/2000-08-18/s ... unior-year

Here is another one. Not an article but a collection of emails from Hood. I wonder if Kyle Lowry or Wayne Elington, knows him.

I'm guessing they probably knew the guy if they beat him up but I don't know the specifics. It's also possible that somebody told them "Hey, that's the dude that texted your mom!"

Think of how many people they have been swarmed with at Kansas, Phoenix, Houston, etc....probably 10s of thousands of people so it's not completely out of the realm of possibility that they don't really remember the guy and they could certainly not KNOW him or know him well at this point.

Hold old are you? Lets remember the twins are still only 25 years old. High school was 7 years ago for them...

But seriously, if I'm in a picture with someone AND that person knows my mom or dad well enough to text them then I know who they are. If you can say no to that scenario then I find that really weird and think you don't pay enough attention to people. That's just my 2c.

It all depends. If you are talented enough to get scouts and agents searching for you as a client, I think you will get many people that want your parents' number, and send them texts and/or emails, right? You may only be introduced to them. We don't even know the timeline of any relationship Hood may or may not have had with the twins' mom. From what I read about Hood, he often tried to help players from Philly, to not do the same mistakes he did as a player. He has said in an email that he coached guys like Kyle Lowry and Wayne Eliington. It would be interesting to hear if those players say they know Hood.

Yes, I realize I'm a bit older than the twins, and hs wasn't that long ago, but they also have probably met many more people over the last 7 years than I did over my time since hs.

I certainly don't know everyone my parents text. And I've met some of their friends, but don't know all of them. I'm in a bunch of pictures where I don't know everyone though, and probably wouldn't know if my parents had texted some of them.

I think it is a little odd that someone would know everyone their parents have ever texted and if they had ever been in a photo with them.

But I obviously feel like I should have paid closer attention to some of these girls in hs. In retrospect, they look pretty hot. Maybe I didn't think so much then.

That's kind of true. If you are one of the best athletes in the world, swarming with agents calling your parents and people trying to get into your lives, there are probably tons of pictures and phone calls that there is no way these stars would remember every single one of them.

But honestly, I do think they probably knew this guy, but I can't know for certain, and I don't know that anyone could prove it by saying "You would have HAD to know them because of a text and a picture."

I have pictures with girls I met out one night that I probably called or texted once or twice and there is no way now I could say that I know them. The twins probably have this situation 100 fold.

Can you stop with the bs, please. I never said he knew nothing. I said that the witness accounts differed greatly, meaning it's a he said she said situation, with zero evidence other than the differing witness accounts. None of this shows a defense of the twins. So if you want to continue looking dumb over this, be my guest.

Initially InLen said that Marcus may have gotten in some blows, now it's a definite? Seems as if the evidence is changing over time. Either way, if InLen's roommate says that Makieff didn't participate, and Hood says that he definitely did, then who is the liar?

Still doesn't seem like enough evidence to convict, which was my stance from the start. Now back to your regularly scheduled putting false claims on posters.

You still think that the Morris twins don't know the guy despite multiple reports stating that they've been mentors and long time family friends to the twins?

I don't know/care as much if they actually assaulted the guy as much as I care about whether or not they lied to the police department. Apparently 5 people assaulted the guy so Morris twins may or may not be among them. But we know for a fact what they told the police about knowing the victim and based on all "reports", its not true.

Regardless its pretty obvious that these guys are millionaires and will more than likely settle this outside.
so far the only source in every report I've seen or heard has Hood claiming he mentored them in high school. Multiple reports of his testimony doesn't change the single source. As for the so called "long time friendship", (again, only Hood's claims) the relationship was only in their early years in high school. And according to Hood, they haven't had any contact in four years. So a couple of so called years in high school six to seven years ago equals a long time family friend to the twins.

You don't know if they lied to the police. Again you are taking Hood's claims as evidence.

As for InLen's last claim of trying to contact them....wtf? How are we to varify that there was contact, and that message was received, and responded to?

Now I completely admit it was stupid to even be near a fight because of their ease of recognition. It's stupid to hang out with people that will start fights in public places where children are present. But there are tons of stupid players that often stupid things.

Again, we keep hearing the same stuff over and over, and everytime the same reports use Hood's claims, everyone here goes off. You've actually said I should apologize to InLen. For what? I didn't call him names. I never denied that his roommate was there, nor have I denied that the twins were there. I just question the differing witness accounts, one of which says the opposite of what Hood claims. Also, from listening to Hood's girlfriend's 911 tape (only 911 call I've heard), she claims there were ten people involved. It all sounds too fishy.

So could it be a possibility, that Hood wanted to mentor the twins, maybe in hope to represent them in the future, and they know of him, but not really know him? Do you remember everyone you met seven years ago? Now imagine going to college being basketball stars, and then going to the NBA. Good chance they remember his name, but not know him, hence not a lie.

I could have swore you called him names and said he was a liar and stuff but if not, then maybe I was thinking of something else. I thought you and gino questioned this whole case from the beginning saying it had no legs and that it was some mad up crap but I guess not.

And yes all the reports are based off Hood's statement but that's because he's the only one that has talked and went into detail. His stuff is what has come out in the public. What have the twins said other than "I didn't know them"? Nothing thus far. Their not giving us anything to go on and it may be because they caught in a lie.

To say that he supported him financially and that he did this for them and that for them are big claims to make. Would Hood really lie and risk getting caught and being sent to jail for lying to the police? Unlike the twins, Hood doesn't have the money to afford top notch representation. If the twins lie and get caught or whatever, they have millions in their bank account to settle this outside of court. Hood likely doesn't.

Right now, I'm going off what I've heard and seen from this situation.

This is a criminal case, Hood doesn't have to have representation, for he isn't on trial. So his financial situation doesn't matter much in this case.

But good point of his lack of money, which he has been in that situation for a bit especially dating back to when the twins were in early high school. He was playing overseas in 2006 and 2007, but it wasn't like he was a key player. He loses nothing by making claims like financially supporting the twins. Right now he seems to be milking his fifteen minutes of fame. If he loves the twins as he claims, why continue this, for he knows even if not convicted, that this will hurt the twins just in rumor alone.

Both Gino and I said that the information was weak, and with the differing witness account, it is a he said she said situation. Many took this a different way. Claims that we were in denial, multiple times. Maybe someone owes us an apology?

Still, according to Hood, he has coached both Kyle Lowry and Wayne Elington. It would be interesting to see if these players also say they don't know Hood. Meeting someone for a day, or even throughout a clinic, doesn't mean you really know someone. Hood's name is recognizable in Philly, so many players coming up through Philly probably have heard of him, and even met him, but it doesn't mean they "know" him.

In the end, it doesn't mean the twins are liars. Stupid? Sure, for being in this situation, but not necessarily liars.

Lastly, if Hood just took a settlement from the beginning, he wouldn't have a ton of people asking him questions, and his name in the paper. Clearly he isn't out for just the money. Keeping his name in the news keeps him relevant.

I believe Hoods attorney was there and checked in on behalf of his victim on this case. I wasn't listening to the wording of specific charges but there was no one else with them as far as co-defendants. No posse. .. just Kief, Marcus, fat Moms, attorney, maby one other dude.... at least in the court room, I did not go out front and see who might be waiting outside. But no co-defendants were attached to my knowledge.

RDR, I know someone close to the Suns org that knows some player including the twins. He sent a message to Markieff explaining that he could get them in contact with the witnesses (via me) if he wished. Markieff opened up the message but never responded. It couldn't have hurt him, I have no idea why he didn't do it.

I don't think a defendant is allowed to talk to a witness in an ongoing case, unless they are representing themselves, right?
They have copies of your roommates testimony, and if they feel necessary they will summons them for court. Maybe the lawyers still think this will settle outside of court, for the evidence is pretty weak.

Upon further research, a lawyer said they can, but in most cases, not a good idea.

You are probably right. I'm not a legal expert but that makes sense. They won't go to court because 1 of them isn't even in AZ anymore and more importantly the cops aren't even relying on them anybody because as I mentioned in this thread like 2 months ago the cops found some lady on a balcony or something that claimed to have witnesses everything. I have no idea what this lady said to police.

This is also why I've gotten no new info recently and I won't get any going forward.

Plus since they are twins, and your roommate may be able to implicate one of them, their lawyer might not want that testimony. The prosecution also might not want that testimony because charged both, and your roomates's testimony would clearly get one off.

The other odd thing I've been researching is, since this is a criminal case, Hood is only a witness now. So I'm not sure if this case can be settled outside of court, unless done through the court. If Hood (a witness) asks for money, it could be a felony charge of bribery.

So far all we've seen was a preliminary hearing where the plea was put in.

I actually just talked to my roommate, he said that he didn't tell police that one of them was called out by name. He just said that one of them was taking take of him and my other roommate while the other was involved in the fight (but not as involved as one of their friends who was literally kicking and stomping on Hood)

He just assumed that the twins would tell police which one was handling witnesses and which one was involved in the fight. Who knows what they said, but the fact that they both got the exact same charge says that they both just lied to police and said they were both innocent or something stupid.

Well if one was handling the crowd, he may not have seen his brother do anything. They both aren't super smart, so the other may have said to the other,"I pushed him, but I didn't do anything". So when questioned, the one handling the crowd says," my brother didn't do anything." The one not handling the crowd, can legitimately say that their brother didn't do anything.

Overall, the prosecutor better have some good evidence, for it seems like an easy case for a top lawyer.

Either way, this will hinder any trades probably for this summer at least. So anyone hoping to rid our team of the twins will have to calm down for a bit.

It is pretty common in any criminally charged case for the defendants to deny deny deny, until the prosecutor actually shows them what they actually have as far as evidence, you dont just tell on your self. This is just an indictment.....lowest form of charges filed, dose not take much to get an endictement to go forward, basic low level accusations and evidence presented to a grand jury panel... jury duty folks.... here is the accusation... here is the evidence.... is there enough probable cause to file a charge based of this info if it is true and if you guys believe it??? The next course of action, even for them is fast track court. If not settled before the next date, the twins will probably see some sort of plea deal offered. Based off of criminal history and this being basically a fight/assault, expect a probation plea. Most likely an unsupervised probation. Under the law, even if.. say Marcus did the dirt and Kief played crowd control... ACCOMPLICE LIABILITY comes into play here. So if Marcus walks into a store and robbs it... and Kief is in the car and never even enters the store... when Marcus goes back to the car and they drive away together.... THEY ROBBED THE STORE... they are equally culpable and subject to the same punishment, just like they both entered the store. So even if Kief just stood watch, THEY TOGETHER whipped that dudes ass in the eyes of our states law.

Brittany Griner gets a seven game suspension for misdemeanor assault / domestic violence. The Morii are charged with felony assault. The NBA is gonna throw the book at these two idiots.
