Can't believe the Knicks are more than halfway through Draft Thread Part 21.

I don't see the Josh Jackson hype. I just don't think he looks that great.

Fultz and Tatum are my top 2.

If we get Tatum, I hope we keep him.

If we get Jackson, I hope we look at a trade with the Bulls or Knicks for Butler or KP assuming both teams are high on Jackson.

Maybe he knows they would be drafting him for the Bulls. I think Jackson has a promise from the SUNS :)

Exactly. Knicks probably wanted Chriss/Warren/#4/Miami picks. Maybe someone else can bail you out Phil

Who's bailing who out? McD has been whiffing in impact signings/additions. No way we stand pat with all these big names floating around. The rebuild is closing fast as the orders have been issued.... it's time to win NOW

looks like Celtics are leaning toward Tatum as Jackson has continued to decline workout with Boston. I doubt the Suns pass on Jackson. But if Jackson made it to 6th pick, we be glad to have Jackson.

I think there are young guys who want to play with Booker. He has an "it" quality to which others gravitate.

I love Jackson without a doubt. That is the only player I have not vacillated on. I'd take Tatum second in a heart beat and not lose any sleep, however Jackson has the skills and athleticism to be a two-way superstar.

Tatum= one-way star like Melo, but better defense.
Jackson= two-way star like Leonard.

I heard on NBA radio that the Bulls reached out to the C's to trade Butler for the 3rd pick and were denied by Boston.
If that's true, then Boston will have to make this pick based on who they want. Guessing Tatum might fit their need more.
Not sure who else they'd work with to make deal.

I read that too. I just don't know if I believe it. #3 for Butler straight up? Come on. How do the Cs turn that down?

Hayward and Tatum is better than Butler?

Cause they're smart. If Butler had 3-4 years left I could see Boston doing it.

This made me chuckle:
Great at drafting? Let's add it up:
One point for star, no point for neutral, negative one for bust/nothing. 2nd rounders and Euro players not counted.
Len/Goodwin: bust/nothing
Warren: neutral (bench player)
Ennis: nothing
Booker: star
Truthfully early but... Bender: bust
Chriss: meh - neutral
McD: -3

Some reason I feel Josh Jackson is a Gerald Wallace mold.

The problem with Wallace wasn't his talent, it was his inability to stay healthy imo.

That makes zero sense. When I first read that I thought "Of course the Bulls turned it down. It's going to take way more than that." Then I realized it said Boston turned it down.

That's a crock.

That would be crazy if he lasted to six, but there is a chance of it happening. It seems like he has a promise from the Kings though, or maybe us. But we bring guys in and do extensive tests, hard workouts, etc, which is a big part of our draft assessment, and we didn't with him. And Isaac stopped his workouts after ours and said he wouldn't work out for teams below 4. That seems awfully risky for him to just do that without good reason.

The Kings were supposedly high on Fox, and their forum prefers him to Jackson, I think almost 2-1 if he's there. They have a poll there on who they would pick if those two are still on the board.

You don't think if he WAS there, there is any chance you would pass on him because you desperately need offense do you? Like for Smith, Jr?

It wouldn't shock me at all if Jackson preferred to be drafted by the Suns. If he goes to Boston he'll be involved in a bunch of trade rumors and could be moved either this summer or at the deadline. Players don't like that uncertainty. Plus Boston has a more crowded wing position so playing time is tougher to come by rookie mistakes will be less tolerated. Where as if he goes to the Suns he's looked at as a main piece from day one and will get all the opportunity to play and put up numbers that will help him get a max contract in 4 years.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

On most underrated prospect:

John Gambadoro: Isaac – I like his ceiling, he can play the 3 now and likely play some 4 in a year and possibly some 5 in the next couple of years as he matures. He is a rim protector that can run the floor, pass and dribble. He is very intriguing.

I really really like JJ and he's top of the board (minus Fultz).. but Porzingis is THE Modern Big man that the league is moving towards to... in a few seasons on his prime you have a potential rim protecting Dirk Nowitski... Phil Jackson is either trolling or just being silly... at their absolute potential peak, Porzingis would be worth more than KAT, yes I said it. I see Porzingis as a potential 25ppg 10rpg 2bpg stretch 4/5.... who no one can guard due to his height and mobility.

KAT is already a 25/10/2 stretch 4/5

He averaged 25/12/1.3 and shot 37% from 3

Raw stats alone doesnt explain my main point.

KAT is a beast no doubt.

But Imagine him playing next to Melo and a triangle system with the incorrect players.

I envision Porzingis as a 25ppg being 1st, 2nd option or even 3rd option. Similar to how Durant is, basically easy 25ppg. And unstoppable whilst helping his team win games due to the mismatch ala Warriors style.

Not only that... Very very comfortable to score outside all game... Then go inside when required. A shot blocking Dirk Nowitski.... Raw numbers alone cant justify the impact.

KAT is the main guy in a traditional system. Beast inside player mainly.... Again he is a star center. Porzingis is more of a star PF/ C. Lets just say both can play together for sure
