I don't know who all is on your team but I think Tatum is...I assume it's him? I once had Draymond years ago and named my team Everybody Loves Draymond. Close to the name of an old tv show.

Yeah, Tatum has been his best player this year after taking another leap. He had Paul George, Tatum, and LeBron all first round production last year. And AD while he was down last year still was pretty high (like 2nd or 3rd round value). This year looks a bit closer but I think desertfox is still the team to beat. I'd be very happy if my team got some hardware for a top 3 finish with how many good teams there are.

Interesting to see him moving away from AD to Porzingis and JV.

Also made a huge mistake last night with Sengun on the IL and playing an all unicorn front court. He had a massive game and I've been struggling with rebounding.

AD has been killing it this year, but he is for sure going to get injured at some point in the season and I got zero good backups behind him with RWIII on IR. Best to get two solid players while his value is still high.

Anyone interested in

Ingram
Porter Jr.
Pokusevski
Bol
Huerter
Avdija
Vanderbilt
Jalen Williams

Ik thats like half my roster lol but its really getting frustrating having all these guys around the same level of production and watching someone go off on the bench...

Swipe Em Book and Three 6 Latvia have agreed on a trade.

Zach Lavine and Jalen Smith for D'Angelo Russell and Jordan Poole.

Hurts to lose Lavine since I originally drafted him in the 3rd round when we started this league. But I need some damn assists and the combination of Russell and Poole give me that.

I put Lavine on the trading block a while ago and didn't receive any offers from ya.

I sent you an offer but you have more faith in Poole than what I offered you apparently.

I didn't want Jimmy since he is injury prone and much older. Poole is still only 23 so he might improve especially if he gets traded or when Klay is gone. Additionally, DLo is putting up 7 assists a game, and again I need those bad. Oh and Jalen Smith has been pissing me off. I wanted to cut him so bad, he gets points, rebounds, an occasional three, but he has very poor efficiency. He stands too straight up to get steals and doesn't get any assists.

Went to go pick up TJ Warren and he wasn't available. You would have been one of my last guesses as the manager who picked him up.

I was gonna pick him up a few weeks ago but then I just didn't and forgot. I even almost dropped Bagley just because I don't like holding onto guys who are on IR. Glad I kept him though he's playing better than I expected.

Lol yeah I even laughed to myself when picking him up.

It's a depressing wasteland in wiavers.
Figured he was worth a flyer and if he manages to stay healthy for a couple weeks I might be able to trade him.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

You know I like TJ, but I'd never trade for him, as I think even when solid, he's a better NBA player than a fantasy player. Now if he was scoring 50 like he did that would be nice but that's not going to happen.

Glad Middleton is finally healthy. Now I need Bane back.

FA might look like a wasteland but I think for rebuilding teams your options increase a bit. If you're competing or in the middle of the pack its tougher because you are limited to guys who are currently producing.

Teams that are rebuilding at the bottom of the standings might think they can just be very hands off each year waiting for their cores to develop, but I think rebuilding is the best time to be watching FAs for those young guys who show signs of potential, or even if they don't show signs, so you already have them rostered if they do.

I got guys like Simons, KPJ, Okongwu (3 keepers) off free agency. And this year guys like Plumlee, Bol, and Payne. Somebody got Franz Wagner off waivers last year too at the start of the year which is insane.

I'll say it right now there are a couple guys on waivers that if I were a rebuilding team, I would try to roster them right now. I think the league take another step forward in difficulty once it's hard to pick up (for example) an Okongwu-type prospect from free agency.

But yeah if you really want to be thorough, sometimes it takes too much real life scouting. The thing with dynasty is that to be a safe dynasty asset/prospect, the player needs to actually be good in real life. If they are just getting stats, they will get found out eventually and lose their minutes. Of course that doesn't mean you ignore guys who are good at getting stats, as that's also a prerequisite to fantasy, but being actually good is the precursor to minutes (playing time) which correlates strongly with box score production.

What makes it easier for me, and this might seem cheap, is to listen to Josh Lloyd's fantasy basketball videos like game previews, recaps, etc., because he's basically paid to watch NBA and look at stats. Sometimes he'll name drop a guy and be like "this guy might actually be better than the guy in front of him in the rotation", and that keys me into thinking about the dynasty prospects of said player.

Of course its still hard to find those gems but with this sort of thought process I think you increase the chances of striking gold. I mean for all those guys I've named that I got on waivers, there's been probably 10 more who were trash. But a 1:10 ratio however ****, is still better than like 1:11, 1:15, etc..

There's always good waiver guys out there throughout the season. One season I got Jerami Grant but had to drop him one year because of too many keepers. Another year I picked up Poole off waivers too. You just have to sort of pay attention and stick to players on a hot streak and hope they have a breakout season.

I've already regretted letting a couple of players go this season (Bones Hyland). The wire is your friend.

You're right about the point on rebuilding teams. I just grab young dudes when I saw ones I liked and let them sit.

I was also the one that got Franz off the waivers. Then of course I trade him lol. Hopefully I can be as lucky this year with my guys I grab for free off the scrap heap.

Trade announcement I'll send Trae Young and Pokusevski to SlimCharless for James Harden and Jimmy Butler

Want to contend this year with how amazing Shai is playing, and this trade upgrades me in every category, especially a boost in rebounding with Trae outgoing. I feel like I have such a strong core of young players outside of Trae that getting older doesn't matter here.
