Reminder that Terry had multiple pre-draft interviews w/ Phoenix and there was strong interest during that process. He was in play for the 10th pick.

Wouldn’t be shocked if Jones tried to convince him to join, though the lack of mins + G League team puts them at a disadvantage.

My guess is they offered Ayton the same contract Collins got 5/$125 or even started a little less...between Jarrett Allen and him hoping to end up at Collins amount. I think they'd go up to 5/$150 but no higher. I hope they get done but ultimately I'm fine waiting. Personally I wouldn't as I don't see upside really and wouldn't want to risk discontent with a finals team..just don't. It's hard to get back anyway.

These guys obviously don't seem like they'd be happy if they don't get done. But I ultimately don't think it impacts their play one way or the other or makes them want to leave and at worst I think we'd match any offer for either unless Sarver was a complete jackass. I think Bridges is worth 4/$100 and would go up to 4/$110 and Ayton is worth 5/$125 but would go up to 5/$150 at least. Though a max isn't THAT much more until year 2 when Crowder, Saric and probably Paul come off the books and if they know other teams will offer it...I imagine they agent knows if they would then they wait.

The only reason I think the players would take a bit less is to lock it in...that security/risk of serious injury...both player and agent might worry about this...could end up like Cousins and blow your big payday.

There may be more discontent though if the player capitulate into a quite a bit lesser deal than they want or thought they'd get and sign though than if not.

But I might ask if I'm Jones "How much money do you think you really need to secure your financial fu

ture? Do you know how hard it is to be part of a team like this and get to play in a place as nice as Phx? This is more money than winning the lottery. The offer more than sets you, your kids, your grandkids and their's for life. Look at what happened with Cousins. I only wish when I played I was offered even close to this amount."

Why are they taking discounts to help Sarver save money? Why can't he pay for his players?

Why did Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker take discounts?

So Sarver has run this team as well and with as much professionalism as the Spurs guys and by extension deserves the same benefit of the doubt?

Sounds like black is the starters and white is the bench.

The purpose of the 2way contract was to be able to develop younger guys in G League but have the ability to also use them in NBA if need be.

With no G League team & as currently constructed, the Suns are using a 2way to have the league minimum 14 players with a dirt cheap 15th.

But don't worry. He's gonna pay both Ayton and Bridges. While paying Booker and CP3. He's learned his lesson this time.

Stanley Johnson is available too. He can play some 3/4.

Terry is raw and he wouldn't play at all with CP3, Payne and Elfrid on the roster.

Nobody we sign as the 15th man is contributing this year anyway. I’m not opposed to Johnson but he’s already had 4 teams give up on him. At least with Terry there is some possible upside.

Being able to pick up a player like Terry with his elite shooting, incredibly high IQ, developing ballhandling and playmaking skills and who has lottery caliber upside:
The Dallas Mavericks have waived 2020 draft pick Tyrell Terry. The 21-year-old point guard was the first pick of the second round (31st overall) out of Stanford. Terry appeared in 11 games during his 2020-21 rookie season, totaling 11 points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals in 56 minutes.

And who the Suns/ Jones had legitimate interests in predraft would be a coup for us at his current price! I mean imagine replacing Payton in time with Terry, And having a bench scoring backcourt of either Payne/ Terry. Or an elite perimeter shooting duo of Terry and Shamet off the Bench. He could become a slightly lesser version of Trae Young possibly, Which is still very good! Lastly, IF anyone could get the best out of a high intelligence player like him, it's Monty.

I'm very happy to hear that but all these Cam stories seem like they're being leaked by the Suns to set the stage for a Mikal move(or non signing).

Since Cam will be taking Mikal's spot if he moves on to another team. Get the fanbase all buttered up. Might just be me being paranoid but I wouldn't put anything past $arver. He's a snake-a cheap one at that.

I think it means they had Bridges done a long time ago but didn't want to announce it until Ayton was agreed on. But now they've realized the low ball to Ayton hasn't panned out so they're done negotiating and decided to announce Bridges before the deadline and Ayton will be after the season is over.

Otherwise, if Ayton was done, they'd announce it at the same time.

Let’s hope we hear something from Ayton soon
