Is that Dan Dickau at the 1:30 mark? I did a double take because it's unusual to see someone so young running draft workouts.

I think it is. And thanks for reminding me of that name, I go to a gym across from a Blazers facility and this youngish white guy a bit shorter than me is always in there weekdays around 2:30 and almost never misses the entire time he's shooting. I think it's the aforementioned Dan Dickau.

I googled it an it looks like he took a position with the Blazers staff last off-season. I remember him from his great run at Gonzaga and of course he played for the Hornets for a while. He averaged 13 points and 5 assists for them, but never managed to shoot well as a pro (40%).

You should strike up a conversation. I think he married a Blazers' cheerleader/dancer. ;)

Hits the big 3 to win the game, then walks straight out the gym, like a boss!

I still want him on our team, i dont care how much people dont like him. I've been a fan of him since he did this.

Rick Bonnell ‏@rick_bonnell: Suns promise strategy with Dion Waiters won't work. Not a Kobe redux. If Phoenix doesn't trade up, they lose him. via Twitter

Rick Bonnell ‏@rick_bonnell: Portland, Golden State and particularly Toronto won't pass on Waiters. Suns looking hard for a deal they might not get. via Twitter

Rick Bonnell ‏@rick_bonnell: Don't know that Bobcats would/should consider him at No. 2, but from what I hear, he's second-highest potential in this draft.Waiters is very risky -- lots of high schools, someone Boeheim put up with. But very intriguing. via Twitter

Also....

John Canzano ‏@JohnCanzanoBFT: Some developing NBA news that peripherally involves the Blazers. Stay tuned here. I'll tweet it shortly. via Twitter

Seems like the Blazers are up to something. :-?

We want Lowry to stay away from Toronto. Don't do it BC!

Thank god. This is the first reference in the press I can remember pointing to the Suns looking to trade up in the draft.

If the Bobcats take Waiters at 2 I think my head will explode, and I'm not even a fan of the Bobcats. The servers on this site would crash due to the Bobcats forum rioting digitally.

Well I've thought for a long time Olshey loved Waiters and would take him at 6. Now suddenly everyone in mid lottery seems to want him. It's kind of crazy. After that Waiters article by Ford, he vaulted up all the mocks. If Olshey was the one who quoted to Ford that Waiters was the 2nd star in the draft, I bet he regrets it now (but of course, if it was him, he said it while he was the Clips gm). But I wonder if that article made other teams give him a closer look than they would have otherwise.

I can't even imagine what the Suns could do to trade up to 5....they just don't have the assets. I guess they could try to trade Gortat for 6, but if Olshey likes Waiters that much, I wonder if he'd even do it.

As much as I hope we get another pick or even move up, I seriously hope we don't trade a future first to do it, unless it has SERIOUS protection. Because that could end up being WAY too costly.

And who is Rick Bonnell? Edit, never mind.....I hadn't read all the posts....

Gortat, Dudley, #13

for

#2, Henderson

On a serious note, I have the worst feeling we're taking Sullinger, and to make it worse one of the players we really want will be there too...ARGH!!

Well, supposedly Houstons offer to the Kings for the #5 is revolving around Dalembert/#14 for #5/Salmons or Garcia.

We shouldn't need to include our pick of the kings would accept Sammy for number 5.

Haha, that's all of our assets. I love Thomas Robinson's game. I think he's a legit player. We can't give everything we have for him though. I know you're just kidding, but find another way to get Robinson for me because I want him on the Suns.

I think we could pull 5 and Reke for Gortat and 13.
