I'm no longer a Sophomore - I'm a Junior now!!! Thank you overly dramatic, highly speculative NBA offseason. :) :) :)

Ahhhhh I see that you're a Cubs fan it all makes sense now, making the playoffs in any form would be a great achievement.

Leave the cubs out of this haha. They didn't do anything to you!

He'd be crazy not to go to Houston, especially if his only other option is returning to Miami.

The Decision 2 part 2

Carmelo should just join Bosh and Wade in Miami.

Could you imagine that? It'd be like LeBron turned 'face' and Melo turned 'hell'. Now you get to root for the new good guy.
Houston will probably then push hard for Deng at the least.

When he was traded on January 7, the Bulls were 14-18. The Bulls finished the season 48-34. So they went 34-16 without Deng. Not to mention, but they finished as the second best defensive rated team in the league. The main difference between Deng and P.J. Tucker is that Deng is taller, but his shooting percentages are not good. 43% fg and 30% 3pts (awful 3 point shooter). After just agreeing to re-sign Tucker and having a rookie that averaged 25 ppg in college ready to play, I have no idea why the Suns would want to give big money to Deng. He is barely an upgrade over P.J., if at all.

So you didn't watch that video I posted huh? :banghead: Please watch the video, and if you still feel this way, you should be banned!

You have got to be kidding me. So because you post a video of Luol Deng having 37 points, 7 assists, and 8 rebounds, and 7 turnovers, I am supposed to be impressed? What about the fact that it was a triple overtime game and he played 56 minutes? Or that they lost the game. Or better yet, that they lost the game to the freakin' Pelicans who were horrible. That actually makes it even worse. He needed three overtimes and 56 minutes to get those statistics only to see his team lose to an inferior team. So this video is supposed to convince me that he is worth 12 million dollars a year? Okay, I will post a video of Gerald Green having 41 points in 41 minutes including 8 threes against the Thunder where the Suns actually won the game (far more impressive) and claim that Gerald Green is worth 12 million a year because of it.

Using video highlights is a terrible way to support an argument. You can make any player look good by packaging up a highlight video. Notice how we didn't have to post highlight videos for Lebron. Or Carmelo. Or any good free agent.

Some people on this board are worried about being mediocre for another year. If we sign Deng we are going to be mediocre for the length of his contract. If he is your second or third best player, its going to be hard to win a championship....and that's what we would be paying him like.

Paying Deng 10m-12m/yr for 2-3 yrs is MUCH better than paying Parsons or Hayward 15m/yr for 3-4 years

LMAO, so Miami loses Lebron, is in the process of losing Bosh, and now reports are that Wade is being courted by the Bulls.

The Miami Heat truly were the WCW of the NBA.

While I agree with this, I would not want any of these players on the Suns. They are all role players. Paying role players 8 figures is not a recipe for success. These are the type of players that you sign to get you over the hump to try to win a championship, such as the 2005-2010 Suns. The current Suns are not on that level yet. They have no superstars and did not even make the playoffs. The best any of these players will do for the Suns is maybe add a few regular season wins and then get bounced in the first round. That is not what the Suns need. I am more excited about seeing what T.J. Warren can do and if he can turn into a legitimate NBA scorer.

I agree with that. Just like chopping your finger off is better than chopping your hand off. I would prefer to do neither though.

As Traxxe stated, Sarver left a bad taste in players mouths. Now would Love rather come here with the team how its currently constructed, or if we had Deng on board also. Deng is the type of guy that helps draw in better talent.

What about Wade on a 3 yr 36M deal. He still has some game left in there.... Our trainers could help him.

Deng would be a fine addition.... If the Suns were already a top 6 team... He would of helped a lot back in 2009 with Nash, Amare, JRich etc

I wouldn't mind him on the suns today, but I would like the following conditions.
- 3 year, 21 million dollars. Player option after 2.
- 3 year, 36 million dollars, team option after 1.

Keeps Suns flexible and makes his deal attractive for trades down the line. Basically it's not a terrible contact.

Miami with Wade, Bosh, and Melo. Would be an interesting story come playoff time. If Melo was willing, I think Bosh would do it. I would love for Houston to be left in the cold. This whole thing could bring a little more parity to the league.

Editing: Wouldnt Wade and Bosh have to still take big pay cuts to sign Melo? Can't see them doing that.

Those wanting Warren to contribute this year are nuts. Most rookies can't contribute right away. I'd be ok with Deng if Monroe can't be had. Making the playoffs would be a start. Baby steps, people. Read the book below.

So does Miami still owe teams picks because of the first decision?

There isn't that much talent out there available in FA. And there's not going to be that much next year either. We either need to give up a bunch of assets for Love, or build on what we have an keep our assets. If not Deng, then who?

Ariza?
Stephenson?
???

My guess is we bring on Deng for a "reasonable" contract and do a one-sided trade to get depth at PF or C to help another team with cap space.
