Len, plumlee, and markieff need to play at a near all-star level for the suns to be legit. Just being real.

Love my suns but I'm also realistic. We got to shore up the front court to be contenders. Right now, 42-48 wins is pretty realistic. And there is nothing wrong with that as long as we have a plan to shore up what is needed.

Anyway go suns. Go cards, kill Denver!!

I agree about us not resigning Green. We need that money for the front court. Can't wait for the Cardinals game but I have a feeling we will lose because Drew Stanton is named starter. I like him but I see us being 3-1 after the game. Like you said, just being realistic.

Or especially if IT gets pissed off, we trade him, and THEN Bledsoe gets hurt. All of a sudden we'd go from 3 all star PG's to one (that is by now used to being a 2).

I get where you are going on this, but if the goal was to get a first, we should not have spent the 18th pick on him. I think McD is targeting a player with Ennis, or will just develop him. I think he has his eye on someone that plays for a team that likes Ennis. This afternoon I was contemplating going after Olynyk, so we could have two Canadians. They are one team that struggles to attract players that want to play there a little, and may be willing to overpay to get Canadians on their team. Maybe a hail mary for Jonas V? Seem like a long-shot, but maybe.

No way they would trade Jonas V unless we gave up some serious assets. They really can't give up on him yet. The one person I thought about was Amir Johnson, but I don't really think it is worth it for either team. How much playing time does either guy get?

I like Olynyk, but I don't know about that.

It's always good to have future picks. I think if a team really wants him, we would demand a pick. But no one needs him that badly. Toronto has Lowry and Vasquez, and Boston has Rondo and Smart. Unless they were dealing Rondo and thought a backckourt of Ennis and Smart would work, I can't see them giving up much. Might be something Brad Stevens would like though.

I certainly did not mean to insinuate that Ennis or Ennis plus Olynyk would get the deal done, only that they could be parts of a larger deal. I am really just guessing- trying to identify who could use a good, solid backup that could grow into a starter. Not too many spots out there right now.

Aaahhh, my old stomping ground...I didn't graduate from NAU, but spent my Frosh/Soph year there.

But back to Ennis...what is worth more? A somewhat developed D-Leaguer in Ennis, or a highly protected 1st Rd pick...that is the question McD is going to have to answer by the traded deadline.

I still think (along with many others here, as well, I'm sure) that we need a solid veteran presence at the 5. I don't think we need yet another development project like Len/Plumlee. (And I'm just listing some names here, so don't jump down my throat about how horrible of an idea it would be for a specific guy due to spacing, or whatever) So, someone like Sanders, Favors, Lopez, Hibbert, etc. In fact, I know it's been mentioned a couple of times, but even bringing in Okafor or O'Neal would be some nice insurance.

And with Plumlee, is there ANY chance he develops into a solid 14/9 guy and a legit force at the 5, or do you all think last year was about as good as it's gonna get with him? If he plays this year and doesn't fade like last year, and puts up something like a 14/9 season, does he get added to a package for something, or do we consider ourselves lucky and keep him and maybe pass Len off in a deal? Just curious what ya'lls' thoughts are with that.

I don't see a pressing need to decide on Ennis this season. He just turned 20 and it's the first year of a rookie contract so we have a couple of years to develop and see what he turns into. We really don't need anyone else, our roster is loaded with players that we believe in or that we need to give some time to find out if we believe in them.

I disagree that we need another center. If a top 10 center comes along, fine, but otherwise we need to develop Len and Plumlee. If we make a decision about their ceiling now, we're mostly just guessing. It's cliched but big men take time. The problem is that we already have our guard and wing positions poised to compete at the highest level while our power positions are still in early development. I think it's probably in our best interest to let that process play out given that our window with the little guys is nowhere near closing.
