Would be smart to see who else gets cut and we can sign to a 2 way. There are some deep teams out there. The Nuggets, for example.

It is ridiculous that professional athletes eat that **** during a game. Come on, it is OK to eat some garbage here or there in your free time but on the bench in a game?

I know that is like a "tradition" in the NBA, I have seen candy on the benches a lot in the past, but they need to change it. If they want some fast glucose they can eat a banana or another fruit.

Hopefully Ayton usually does not eat that ****.
I am pretty sure that Booker already takes care of his diet, not sure about Ayton.

I don't see whats wrong with this. If you don't want to eat candy then don't, but why force your opinions on others? Is this what the world has come to? We are now candy shaming elite athletes that run more in a week then most of us in a year? Maybe we should Gatorade shame them to. That sh*ts got more sugar in it then the candy does.

You don't compare elite athletes to regular folk. You compare elite athletes to other elite athletes.

I guess I'd have been fine watching prime Shaq or someone crazy like MWP or Rodman eating candy on the bench. But I can't imagine Michael Jordan sucking on some sour patch kids on the sidelines. Makes Ayton look like a chump to me.

Absolutely. This is rediculous. One must show an image of professionality and act like that.
If this is what we see in a game bench I cannot imagine what they can do when they act privately.

Desertfox wrote:The problem with Bender is not about him specifically but how the team dealt with him since the beginning.

The team took a clearly developmental player but then made zero effort to properly develop him, and just when the team was set up to bring him along and when he had the specific skill set the team requires at that position, they drop him despite having no true long term replacement at that position. Remember Dragic? The Suns have a history of drafting developmental players and then completely screwing up their development. Some players (Booker) can survive in a sink or swim environment, but not all can and thats on the team to help them succeed. Was McD a bad GM? Most certainly, but all of his drafts where well rated by most, that should be a warning sign that the issues with this team where deeper than just the GM. Draft picks do bust, but if most of them keep busting, you might want to take a good hard look at your development process.

This is a great explanation.
So many players already arrived here with high potentials, then they developed like crap.
Chriss, Bender, JJ and many others.
Just the ones with a high desire to be super players stay on their paths to success, as Amare or Booker.
But even Booker, great as he is, is developing in a way that is clearly not the best one for the team of even for himself.
He clearly needs to develope other aspects of his game, which he is not doing. Or may be the problem is that he cannnot show that in games, as the team every season lacks in so many things that he has to stick to his scoring task and no any other thing...

With the cap likely to drop from lost revenue due to China, I would take those offers if I was those guys.

Yall are ridiculous and over opinionated about other people's choices. View the bigger picture and then focus on your own lives.

Should athletes try to avoid refined sugar?
Refined white sugar is a nutritional zero, void of any vitamins, minerals or protein. Yet, the calories in sugar come from carbohydrates. Muscles welcome these carbs to fuel depleted glycogen stores. Muscles don’t know the difference between carbs from juice, candy, and sports drinks vs. apple, sweet potato, and banana. The difference shows up in health, immune response, and ability to fight off colds and flu.

You know, you're right. We all talking about Kelly Oubre and Frank Kaminsky, but what about me? How come no one ever talks about my jumper? My post game?

Call me crazy but

Ill stand by Ayton > Trae young any day of the week

Dude needs 20 shots to score 20 and has no defense . Ill pass . That would have been a pain next to booker

But Trae gets highlights on Sportscenter.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I agree, 20/10 is probably right, but those numbers won’t have a lot of weight if they are like 9/16 from the field, 2/3 from the line, his offensive aggressiveness not putting/gathering fouls on opponents front line defenders...not creating gravity and headaches for the oppos coaches to really worry about in general. And then there’s the other side of the court still “in development”. Progress for sure year one... long way to go on the D for Deandre.

I’m waiting and hoping Ayton has “force” potential. Haven’t seen it yet. So far he’s been more or less “Mr. Default, talented 7 footer” Read: nothing really that special. He should get 10 rebs and around 20 pts with what he’s got ...but as a #1 overall? He needs to eventually deliver much, muchh more, and in many departments

Saw your comment about being sure the Suns will top the Mavs this year. Won’t bet money with you, but I’d wager with you on that prediction in RGM terms if you want

Anyone ready to join me yet in Warriors missing the playoffs?

They’ll be better with Curry and WCS in the lineup. I think they’ll sneak in.

One of my predictions for playoffs locks was taking GSW over LA. Looking like I already goofed before the season even began

Dude is running an offense, unlike our big boi. Like many said already, Ayton is just doing regular things, nothing even remotely special in his game. And some key qualities demanded from center nowadays are just painfully missing. Overall DeAndre is not a minus player, but that is just so underwhelming for a #1 pick in such good and highly praised draft.

We complain about wasted picks, Jackson, Bender or Quese, but in reality, what'd hinder us the most is making the wrong choice a year ago when we had a clear chance to build something really special.

One of the most efficient scorers, but OK. NBA has turned into such unfair league for bigs. It's now not enough to be a good 1-on-1 defender, which Ayton is, but cover all other mistakes done by the wings.

I would love to watch a big game from him against the Kings. Starting the season strong. They play Dedmon and Holmes at C, so Ayton (on theory) has an advantage in front of them.

But for now Ayton's game is empty. He does not get calls, teams do not need to prepare your defenses for him and they even attack him on every set beacuse he is not good enough on defense yet. That can change with experience and a better effort, hopefully we will see it during next season.

This second year is gonna be huge for him. Obviously I have hope, but I truly think that he can go both ways.... Embiid or Kanter.
