How the hell do we not offer Booker, Durant and every single one Ishbia’s kids for Doncic?

Mavs have to be seriously in doubt Doncic will ever be in good shape. Crazy.

So the Mavs approached the Lakers with the offer...that's unbelievable and it has to be for something that we will discover pretty soon.

I mean...the other 28 teams would have made good offers for Luka. Why the Mav would be OK with just AD trading them Luka BEFORE his prime? Weird weird weird.

I knew getting Klay Thompson was an odd fit and now they sacrifice Doncic to get defense

They (Mavs front office) probably knew that Doncic was planning to leave for a bigger market in 26! And of course, the league steeps up to help prop up their flagship franchise once again! Now watch in 2029, The Mavs in 2029 will magically fall into the #1 pick and be gifted a franchise-level talent to complete the "devils' bargain for three Mavs!

The League office/ NBA always finds a way to prop up Lebron and the flakers. They are trying to help Lebron pull one more championship before passing the mantle to their new Poster child prodigy for their flagship franchise. And watch how absurd the foul disparity becomes now with Doncic there and the refs being directed to give them around 40 free throws per game. So much for actual parity!! :nonono:

It's shocking. But despite the comments about defense winning championships, unless it is refuted, my guess is it became apparent to the Mavs that Luka was likely to leave in the summer of 2026, and would want to go to a huge market, preferably LA. And apparently Miami knew it too because they were trying to clear cap space for him.

The Lakers seem to be pretty small though, and Luka/LeBron is a weird fit, not that you worry about that if you are getting Luka, especially with LeBron at 40. I wouldn't be surprised if not even LeBron knew.

I would say the hits keep on coming not drafting Luka because now he is a Laker, but I am guessing he wanted to go to LA anyway and would have, which may have been worse, because we would have gotten him for nothing, because Ishbia would have been overconfident he would stay.

I have a few friends that are Mavs fans though and I imagine they will be pissed.

This is straight up misconduct right? How do you not start a bidding war when reading Luka Doncic??

It has to be, this sh*t is insane

Cuban isn't even part of the ownership or has any pull in the front office anymore

Absolutely until we realize it's the Lakers and NBA. Entertainment league.

Btw Luka has a 30yo body now. He's not the same this season. Still weird. Mavs have to be fed up with his lack of discipline.

If they knew Luka would stay, they wouldn't have traded him. Zero chance. He does miss a lot of games but AD has missed more over the years and AD is a lot older. Luka is 25, in his prime and a top 3-4 player in the NBA.

Doesn't really matter right? You have a guy who could carry you for the next decade and another guy who's probably done in a season or two.
