They did a better job this year of removing a lot of the PF eligibilities for many centers this year but there's still too many, imo. Zach Collins, WCJ, Duren, Sabonis (Sabonis this year, at least). Centers are the most specialized position in the modern NBA. They rarely play down to PF.

There's also more ridiculous stuff like Ben Simmons @ SG (you should have seen the gymnastics the yahoo rep on reddit was doing to justify this). LaMelo ball with SG is insane as well.

In general they've been much better this year with positions though. But I'm not a believer honestly in adding eligibilities after the season has been started. I think actively buffing players like that once they've already been drafted is ridiculous and gives out random little advantages for no real reason.

I normally wouldn't care but since this is more of a huge draft with a polarizing prospect, I wanted to know if we can do our draft lotto after the NBA finishes theirs? So maybe in like late May (NBA lotto is May 16th I think) if no one else cares. My thinking is that IF there are any trades to be made involving some of the top picks it might be easier to figure that stuff out over the summer between posters as opposed to the 1 or 2 days leading up to the draft....

I think we'll get this done around that time you mentioned as posters will still be active watching the playoffs meaning we can inform our managers about who is dropping a tier, etc. And they can have a whole offseason to think about their rookie pick since thats when most coverage about rookies happens.

Josh Okogie - 15 games: 12 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.1 steals. 26 3s made. (Under 40% FG though)
Mason Plumlee - 23 games: 15.4 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 13 total steals & 13 total blocks. 73% FG, 63% FT
Steven Adams - 17 games: 8 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.2 blocks.
Thybulle and Wright who both got me 43 steals in 29 total games played.

Without Thybulle and Wright I would have at least one less point in the steals category. Without Plumlee and Adams I would have dropped maybe two points in rebounds. And McConnel and Okogie provided decent overall stats.

Overall, fun year, and crazy finish. I had to sit Fox for five games due to his inconsistent FT%, during this 5 game stretch he shot 11/16 on FTA's which might have been enough to drop me 1 point or probably at least tie with Bigfoot at .818 FT%.

It was a great year with 4 teams breaking the 100 point mark.

I was surprised how good my team was given that I had no players over 25, so when Qwigglez got Embiid I decided to turn Trae Young into two guys (Harden, Butler) who were both big time players. Since there were no star bigs available after Embiid was traded, ultimately the goal was to get rebounds by removing Trae's negative impact in that category, and replacing it with the 10-12 rpg of Harden and Butler. It didn't quite have as much an impact as I had hoped as there was so much separation for the top rebounding teams.

The scoring impact was MASSIVE though, and I think had I done the trade a week earlier I might've finished 1st in the points category, resulting in a tie for Qwigz and DesertFox, with me still in 3rd but only 1 total point behind.

Maybe I jumped the gun a season too early with that trade, as the goal was to win, not come 3rd or even 2nd. Probably should have tried to get it done earlier but players like Poku and Bol Bol early on were doing so much damage. Either way, the core of my team is still as young as most rebuilding teams so next year there is a lot to look forward to.

Have to acknowledge Shai Gilgeous Alexander here too. Guy was my best player throughout the entire year and it wasn't even close, even with JJJ, and the additions of Harden and Butler.

MVP: Joel Embiid (Qwigglez) - best player on the winning team in a close season. Case closed even if Jokic edges him in basketball monster rankings by a few decimals. A monster of a fantasy asset who delivered a championship to Qwigglez.

ROTY: Jalen Williams (Sunskerr) - Highest rated rookie per game value. Great FG%, steals, and consistently turned in massive games when Shai was out for the team that finished 3rd. Walker Kessler is my #2.

MIP: Lauri Markannen (dmastro32) . I wanted to give this to Shai, as he went to an MVP level asset from a regular 3rd round value star, but Lauri gets this because he went from a forgettable player to legitimate 2nd round value and star asset. Nobody was expecting such massive things from him even with the projected stats bump going to Utah.

SOTY(steal of the year, waiver or draft): Jalen Williams (Sunskerr). Nothing too spectacular this year. I think there were some nice additions to rebuilding teams off the waiver, like Austin Reaves and Okongwu going to SlimCharless and Wheezy (I'm still sad I had no room for Okongwu whom was my keeper going into the year). They all have similar overall value, but Williams (pick #42) edges out Jakob Poeltl (#11), Kelly Olynyk (#56), and Walker Kessler (#57) by a bees dick because of his apparent potential.

As for the informal awards, it would be cool to see what some of our managers think. Those are my picks. Might make this a seasonal thing too which would be cool.

As a reminder we are doing the draft lotto early, around the time of the NBA lottery, so rebuilding teams keep an eye out for that as well as penalties for tanking. For the teams who are planning on drafting rookies this will allow them the full summer of media rookie coverage so hopefully the decision on our own draft day will be easier, instead of having to cram research in October.

Also, I'd like to point out that Yahoo only keeps track of games played. Therefore "tanking" shouldn't apply, only how many games an owner has played his guys. In other words, if your team has a high amount of games played, then who was played should make no difference.

If it looked like playing Trae would have made a difference, yeah, bw and I would probably talk it over.

And we will be cracking down on things like healthy players on IL next year for sure. That will be a no-go with the reactions we had this year. Small change but I think it makes sense. So sucks for us Charless because we were going hard accumulating assets doing that but I think again having more prospects in the FA pool will be good for the league.

I doubt Mobley's production ever gets close except maybe in boards and blocks, but Embiid's free throws and free throw % seems like he's got to have you #1 in that category. Then of course points, ast, reb, blk...turnovers he would hurt but we don't have that.

I didn't pay much attention to FT% before the season, Giannis will always hurt me there but I figured I'd be middle of the pack. Nope was dead last when I made the Embiid trade and finished dead last in it for the year. Need to try and fix that next year.

Maybe I should have shopped Giannis instead but I love him so I'll never trade him. I worried about Embiid aging gracefully with all the leg issues he's already had. But we'll see.

Oh I was definitely doing it in the early season. I had I think (all healthy) Bol/Vanderbilt/Plumlee/Okongwu/Jal Williams/Payne/Avdija rotating through the IL/IL+ at one point. Definitely pretty gamebreaking when it comes to asset acquisition.

I don't even think I had the best team, I think I just made really good in-season pickups, like I mentioned earlier. McConnell and Wright made such a huge impact on the final standings, it's kind of unbelievable. I mean literally the last day, I put in Obi Toppin and had he not gotten those 7 rebounds, I would have had 13 points for rebounds instead of 14, which then would have been a tie for 1st place.

I will likely be looking to make some roster changes this off-season. As for awards I agree with pretty much everything you wrote.

I think Mobley would look a lot better had the Cavs not traded for Mitchell. Mobley is going to end up being like Ayton, taking a back seat. Even more unfortunate since the Cavs also have Jarrett Allen taking away stats from Mobley too.
What is funny is that I absolute hate watching Embiid because he gets to the FT line so much, but now that he is on my fantasy team, I like him a lot more. I don't think I realize Embiid is 28. I thought he was 31 for some reason.
