Re: 2016 Draft
We'd still need to pay for a starting PF even if we picked PFs in the draft, so not sure what the point would be picking for need.

We won't pick up a decent PF in free agency.
Horford is the best available and I don't see him signing here.
Gasol won't sign here.
I hope we don't max Parsons
I REALLY hope we don't max Ryan Anderson.
Might as well draft some 4's and throw them to the wolves and speed up their development (or demise)

4 & 13 is very auspicious: Charles "Bo" Outlaw was born 4/13/71.

Well, you probably don't have to worry about McD taking Bender as a lame duck GM and him and Sarver wanting to compete now. We will take a guy more ready to contribute so he can hopefully keep his job. As a retort one Boston fan said to another one not wanting Bender because of his stats and that he might not contribute immediately, the guy replied "ok, then never complain that we took Olynyk over Giannis."
So we will go with the safe pick, whatever they consider that to be.
I would be all aboard the Bender hypetrain and excuse his lack of production if he possesed anywhere near the verticality and above the rim explosiveness of KP, he is benefiting from the magical unicorn mysterium. I He projects to be a hustlin role player who can run the open floor, make the outlet pass on the break and finishing in transition. I just don't see the reward outweigh the risk. He actually has a NBA friendly buyout clause and could arrive stateside well before 2019-2020. So maybe the FO thinks that makes him more palatable to the fanbase.

What do you think they'd want at 4 that would be better for them than Gordon? Yeah, I'd probably do it.

I guess I just don't consider the risk as high as you do considering this draft class and who is there. I don't really want Ellenson either. I don't think he will be as good as KP initially, and maybe never, but I do like everything I read about him and I like watching him play. I like the length and the ability to hit 3s.

Coro:
A bevy of guards with guaranteed contracts for next season (Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight, Devin Booker and Archie Goodwin) and the possibility of 2014 draft pick Bogdan Bogdanovic, a guard, joining the backcourt this year apparently will not deter the Suns from weighing that top guard prospect group.
“Our philosophy, my philosophy, has always been, 'Just take the best players in the draft and then figure the rest of it out down the road,' ” McDonough said.

I agree. People are more excited about Bender now that they've seen KP ball in the league but I'm more happy I'm wrong about him than I am unhappy. It's great to see KP do well but I'm not convinced we're going to see a repeat of that in Bender.

If the Suns want a Gordon-esque player they could just take Brown at #4.

Brown is an EXTREMELY poor man's Gordon, and I'm not even that high on Gordon as an NBA player.

I heard Earl's post-lottery interview on 620 driving home and it was just him repeating tired cliches about family and "buying in to tradition". Hoo boy we're in for a long ride

I was excited about Bender before I saw KP. Then again, I was excited about KP before he got to the NBA. I can't say the same about many other euros that have gone lotto in the past.

Who are you guys actually going to take? because most of the talent around after Bender is mainly guards which i'd imagine isn't first priority, even Brown plays in a position you have covered (TJ Warren).

Absolutely. But it won't happen. Only 20, Gordon has the potential to develop into the ultimate small ball 5. From what I have heard he is as close to untouchable as that team has.

Who knows? If McD stays to form, he will take Jamal Murray (1 year guard from Kentucky) after taking Rondo (with Boston), trading for Bledsoe, trading for Knight, drafting Archie Goodwin, and drafting Devin Booker.
Many of us want to trade down. Some hope Bender slides....others want no part of him. A few people really like Brown. A couple here LOVE Hield.
For me, Bender if he slides, and if not, trade down 4-5 spots if we can get something in the process...possibly trade for a pick next year, but that's tough considering you never know where it ends up and it could be protected for years.
If we were stuck at 4, I would probably go Dunn, mostly because I don't think Knight can effectively play pg, and Bledsoe is injury prone, and at worst, he is a great backup pg off the bench.
If not Dunn, then I'd consider Hield and if Ellenson looked good in workouts, I guess I'd begrudgingly possibly go with him. I also really like Chriss, but his lack of bbiq and rebounding fear using a #4 pick on him....but I'd still consider him depending on how workouts and interviews went.
I really don't want Murray. He gives me Knightmares.

I mean, people are more accepting of a euro big go this high in the lottery now that they've seen KP. As a prospect KP seemed more suited to the big man game than Bender but when he was drafted last yr, there were a lot of negativity from the NY fanbase and ridicule from other fans for that decisions. But I just don't see that kind of chatter about Bender.

Heartbeat. I'd even throw in Knight
