While no trade is imminent, a source says there is a 50/50 chance of a deal materializing involving Cousins and the Pelicans before the deadline.

This is madness. Are the Kings' brass this idiotic? WTF is wrong with them if this is true?
I don't care if they got Holiday and Hield and picks, that's just nowhere near enough. Especially to keep him in the West.

On a side note, if Davis and Cousins are paired up, players should be lining up to go there. That's an insanely talented frontcourt.

Westbrook should consider them in a couple years if it comes to that.

This is why the Suns really need to make a push for him.

The only team it makes sense to trade with is Boston as Cousins doesn't affect their elite picks.

This has the Suns written all over it. I would bet my house that we are involved and NOT the team that was 'eliminated'.

And if it's true that Boston isn't involved (makes sense since he and IT supposedly didn't get along) who else out there could be involved? Denver probably?

I'm not sure the Kings owners are draft guys, they are Europeans who develop young talent in their leagues.

I'd suggest it might be Len, Bender, Warren and then Phoenix 2017, Miami 2018.

Usually in the NBA you'd have the picks as the primary pieces, but with them they'd look at players first.

My $0.02 I think we gotta do it, and its a very McD move to trade for Cousins.
Hes that superstar player which McD has been looking for in a trade, ever since he took over as GM.

As Rayray said a couple of weeks back, the deal could be Bender, Warren, Len and our 1st... quite a big haul. But what if we look at whats left on our roster.

Cousins/Chandler/Williams
Chriss/Dudley
PJ/Dudley
Booker/Knight/Barbosa
Bledsoe/Ulis

That is still a deep team, and we are able to surround Cousins with some great talent and good shooters.

With Cousins, Bled and Booker, we also will be a good FA destination in the summer, with guys like Millsap and Butler on the market.

Interesting to note that I was listening to a Woj podcast with Caron Butler and he talked a little about Boogie as a teammate. Said Boogie is a very very good guy and a great teammate who wants to be the best player and "transcend the game."

Woj bomb suggests Kings have taken best offer to the owner for his decision, wow.

I am at least 51% sure it's us.

ONLY reason why Boogie wants to stay in Sac is due to the ENORMOUS contract extension he would get with them. If Sac trades him, he'll lose about 40-50 mil.. Boogie can ONLY get over 200mil extension with the Kings..

That's why he wants to stay

Correct. That's why I said that.

Talks with New Orleans have included the Pelicans sending multiple first-round picks, pick swaps, Buddy Hield and expiring contracts to the Kings, league sources said. The Pelicans are eager to find a center to pair with Davis and Jrue Holiday.

This looks like what the Nets did. I imagine this would be Pels' unprotected 1'st 2017 & 2019 and pick swap rights in 2018, 2020, and maybe even 2021.
I guess that's one way to convince a team to take your trash.

How do we trade without a commitment, do we have had to have one?

I've said before there are very few players I'd move the Suns 2017 pick for; Cousins is on that shortlist

If Boston is not one of the teams, I am hoping it's a friendly nod to Ryan McDonough to not get into a bidding war.

So if it's 2 teams, I'm sure it's us the Pels. Has to be. Denver being the dark horse.

But if he's being traded then the Kings wouldn't sign him to an extension anyway. If both are on the same page, then there wouldn't be trade talks.

That's definitely going to be part of the conversation. We're not trading our pick without it being discussed and having high confidence he'll resign
