We're going to lose Booker if we don't start winning. Can you imagine NOT trying to sign DLo if he becomes available? What kind of message does that send?

We use the stretch provision on Tyler Johnson and max out DLo. Match any offer Oubre gets.

Russell / Booker / Bridges / Oubre / KAT

Bickley was just saying how the Sun's haven't made any swing for the fence trades in quite some time and they need to. I like this proposal a lot. Especially if they could somehow get Dlo then you have three stars who are all good friends.

Agree. Ayton can put up KAT numbers and actually play defense (or least has the potential to). I think next season Ayton's easily a 20/10/2 guy

Beverley is not leaving LAC in my opinion. He's a UFA but is still involved in recruiting guys. I expect him to resign on a modest deal shortly after FA starts.

What's a better plan than signing a 23 year old point guard coming off their first all star appearance? Just stretch Johnson and salary dump JJ. It only took trading Ryan Anderson to get Tyler Johnson, it's not like he's any more than a bench combo guard. I still have some belief in Jackson, but I'd have no problem with losing Tyler Johnson and Josh Jackson to gain D'Angelo Russell. We'd have plenty of options to continue filling out the roster from there.

Yep D Lo is a no brainer signing. Do whatever it takes to get him here.

If I’m Brooklyn I’m keeping Russell unless it means KD + Kyrie. Letting him go and maxing out Tobias Harris doesn’t seem like a Sean Marks type move.

Trading Jackson and Johnson for Dlo would be a dream.

If that dream can be realized by stretching Johnson and giving Jackson away for free....it's the same thing.

We gotta do it!

I'm not a huge fan of DAR but he's a smooth combo guard that, like Booker, is a willing passer. He can light it up and his catch & shoot numbers aren't terrible. He loves going down hill and pushing the pace. I think I could get behind a Coby White, DAR, Booker back court where we just try and run it down the other team's throat constantly. Think 7SOL on 'roids.

Thing about that is Monty has gone on record saying he doesn't believe in pushing the pace

Interesting I hadn't seen that yet. Hopefully that would mean an Ayton-heavy offense.

Yeah he did say offense will run through Booker and Ayton, so that was good to hear.

He mentioned that there's no evidence to suggest rushing the ball up is beneficial, and that teams like the spurs and GSW benefit from a lot of ball movement rather than pace, or words to that effect.

You had me until Coby White. But yeah Russell is the best we can reasonably hope for and would be a dynamic backcourt pairing with Booker for the next 5 years.

If D'Angelo Russell is available you sign him. Not often 23 year old all stars point guards want to sign with you when you desperately need a point guard. Especially when your as bad as the Sun's. It's a no brainer then draft the best available. Obviously would still need help at the power forward but try flip TJ for a PF.

Yeah I agree. Towns isn’t that much better than Ayton right now. In 2-3 years Ayton will easily top Towns. I want a swing for the fence trade too, just not Towns. His defense is arguably worse than Aytons. No thanks to Towns!!
I am such a lucky NBA fan. 8647 My favorite team went from the most greedy and racist owner to the most ego driven dumbass owner in all of sports fdt.

Wilber, you would save a lot of time by puting "You're all crazy" in your signature so you don't have to write it in your every post.

Why stretch Tyler Johnson - call the Cavs and see if they would take the Bucks pick for JR Smith and Zizic. Actually creates a bit more cap space even taking on Zizic. Plus - can't Zizic be your back up center. Than if you move Jackson - you might be in position to get DLo.
