So the Ayton just standing and watching clip has gone completely viral (#6 trending on Twitter in sports) and ESPN, Bleacher Report etc have all blasted it on all their social media pages.

Ayton saw it himself because of course he jumped on to IG immediately after getting curb stomped. He even commented on it himself on the sportscenter page with a clapping emoji for whatever that’s supposed to mean.

Read on Twitter

Speculation is that this is Ayton showing appreciation for KD giving the effort that he didn’t show himself.

On a serious note, this is probably the most humiliating moment for Ayton in his career. He’s being entirely blasted on every social media network and tomorrow all the sports shows are most certainly gonna rip him to absolute shreds.

Really hope they don’t try to pin the loss completely on him because he’s a part of the problem but not the only problem or even the biggest one. That’s Monty.

Paul is just a big waste of $$$ as Ayton. He gets an old man future HOFer pass, while the fan base bags on blowhard DA and his shallow promises.

60 million of inconsistent and unproductive play….pencilled in for next year too.

Saw this coming. Who didnt??? Rude awakening in store for the ‘head in the sand’ crowd next year. We will applaud the sacking of Jones and Williams, but should shriek and terror when Ishbo appoints Zeke Thomas as his big thinker. Christomighty he might even make him coach.

We are just a toy for this young billionaire and he’s already taken the wheels off and put on new ones just for fun.

Tough second quarter, we couldn't recover after that.

Aaron Gordon is great on both ends and can play effectively small 5. Personally I think he was the player of the game next to Jamal Murray.

We have to get stops to win the Nuggets. Stops. They are a GREAT offensive team and Murray&Jokic play an amazing two-man game, it's gonna be hard but we can do it.

1-0... let's win the next one.

Honestly, if we lose, I hope Nuggets win the chip. Jokic deserves it. He's Nash 2.0. Smart player.

My last comment. I think we will lose in 5 games. We don't have a bench. I have no idea have our GM thought this bench is gonna be enough.

Didn't watch the entire game due to technical difficulties but despite Ayton's defensive lapses that really isn't the main reason we lost.

Cam is obviously not healthy and we can't have Craig or Okogie only score 3 points while playing a decent amount of minutes, CP3 needs to stop being passive and just take the shots the defense gives them.

KD as well as he played on offense needs to get those TO's under control. KD seems to try to look for DA at times but their chemistry is a bit off with so few games played together but Book is really awful at making any sort of pass to DA due to his tunnel vision. When was the last time he threw a lob to DA that wasn't wildly off target?

I don't think it's time to panic but the serious lack of production from the 5th starter and the bench are very worrying and it's absolutely maddening some of the moves JJ made to not address them at the trade deadline. My hunch is that JJ is gone or at least removed from his current role and Monty is probably going to be replaced with Nick Nurse if he's still available since Ishbia's MO seems to make bold flashy moves to win now.

There are gonna be changes for Game 2.

First thing we are gonna do it's stop giving Aaron Gordon an open shot. It was obvious that we wanted him to shoot the ball but he scored everything. At one point he was 6/6 from the field.

Second adjust will be to play a more common set of handoffs and plays off screens that we didn't play enough on this one.

Third I expect Monty to insert an scorer from the bench. Cam Payne, Ross or Warren...one of them will play decent minutes in Game 2. We need to improve our shooting/playmaking.

KD and Booker must target Jokic all game and take 3s against him like a lot of teams do against Ayton. It's not rocket science, Monty.

Okogie defending Murray didn't work. Just put Craig back in starting lineup to crash for boards and let Booker and Murray go at each other. Torrey had great first round. Suns needed badly his production in this game.

Well, DA challenged it once and trusted KD to finish the work. You need to trust your teammates.

Seriously though, it's like he decided there is no chance Jokic misses and was waiting to inbound the ball.

Seems like he expected Jokic to lay it up but yeah he sometimes gives up on plays since he has a low motor. Like I said in my last post though DA could have scored 25 and had 10 rebounds and we still would have lost.

Having zero bench production and zero offense from Craig and Okogie when one of them is starting is just brutal, team defense is also pretty bad with the Nuggets getting wide open 3 after wide open 3.

Ayton's definitely not the only reason we lost, but that doesn't make him any less frustrating. We weren't winning even with good performances out of Craig and/or Okogie if he's jogging and standing around half the game. That play rightfully went viral, but there were several times where he let Jokic beat him down the court off a rebound or got caught completely flat footed on defense.

Defensive rebounding, turnovers, and 3-point shooting were the obvious flaws. We had to know rebounding issues were coming after the Clippers series. We had a lot of uncharacteristically bad turnovers, especially live turnovers trying to force it into DA. They're not going to shoot 50% from 3 all series, and we'll get more of them up on our end too.

No reason to be doom and gloom after Game 1 in Denver, but we have a lot of work to do.

Ha ha ha. That's the possession I mentioned up thread as one of the few minutes I was able to see. It was a spotlight of anti hustle and lack of drive.

Shoot more **** 3s. Can't battle the god damn math and the nuggets all series. Booker and KD should both shoot 8+ next game.
