Nope I'm still here waiting for you to actually offer up some value. If other teams fans can do it, I don't know why it would be so hard for some in here.

Well, a major part of any trade is the back and forth... the haggling... the counter offer. I just don't think Phx is willing to part with the talent you may seek. Essentially, we have picks, and one or two upcoming/perhaps over achieving youngsters.

It is safe to say, Bledsoe and Dragic will not be part of a trade right now. So I don't think we have/willing to give what it takes to create a Love potion suitable for your longing needs. Draft picks are fun to toss around, but carry too much uncertainty.

I didn't offer anything for him, don't really care about him. He will either stay put, or demand a trade. If he demands a trade, the Wolves will most likely take the best deal offered. If he doesn't agree to stay, it wouldn't be too much.

But who cares, we don't make or accept the deals, so stop acting like you are important.

Apparently you don't realize a major part of this entire board is the discussion of trades. So how about you step down from your perceived high horse, and mingle with the rest of RealGm that likes to talk basketball trades. And I'm the one that thinks I'm important? Sheesh... pot meet kettle

You're the one acting as if you are accepting the trades.

Discussing trades? Fine. Telling us to up the ante? Ha.

I thought this discussion was over, at least according to one acting important on our board.

You have zero say on any trade, so bringing up another fan's offer seems silly unless this was the fantasy thread.

Well, I think outside of Love saying I want to play in PHX, getting him IS a fantasy

Agreed. So is getting equal value for him if he demands a trade.

So telling your fans to up their offers doesn't count as trade discussion?

Is this guy serious? What would be acceptable discussion for you? Should all of us fans of other teams just come in and accept every crap offer any other teams fans offer? No. Bringing in other fans offers and other legit rumors brings a starting point to the discussion. Just because you don't want to hear it doesn't make the point any less valid. Maybe you should stay off the board if you don't like hearing other's opinion. It is the end of the trade discussion since there are no serious offers, but you started a new discussion.

So contradictory

Weren't you the one who said end of discussion?

Legit rumor deal?

If the Wolves continue to blow games, and Love demands a trade, your FO will not e in the driver's seat. You won't get "legit" offers, you'll get offers where the other team wins out in the deal. I wasn't making fun of you, I made it pretty straight forward and simple. But in the end, you don't have any say in any deal, so bringing up, what sounded like a crazy offer from another fan, and using that crazy fake offer to squeeze fake offers from us, not in a fantasy thread seems silly.

I don't play the trade machine often, and when I do, it's usually for small trades, or giant joke trades.

Never said I did. But the Wolves have been blowing a bunch of games lately, I know because I live there now, and have been rooting for them, except for when they play the Suns.

Love has been putting up great stats, even in those blown games, so something is going to have to give. It's been very cold in Minny lately, and the Valley of the Sun, or even LA might be quite inviting. :D

I think other teams can make a better offer. We have quantity, but we are not at the top in quality of assets, unless you offered Goran/Bledsoe plus Miles, but that's not happening. Shouldn't happen, at least. At the same time, 'a couple of picks' is laughable, but the Suns are in a position to improve it to the point it's not ridiculous to accept it.

I think the key here is to determine the caliber of what any team trading for Love would have left to put around him, so he indeed stays, or at the very least agrees to renounce to the player option and gives his new team one extra year.

This leaves the majority of the L out of this race, in my opinion.

About the Warriors, I don't know Curry-?-Iggy-Love-Bogut plus no bench is better than Bledsoe-Dragic-PJ-Love-Plumlee plus a bench mob that has won us games already this season.

Chicago could offer multiple picks, Mirotic and other pieces, but would Love want to play there given the uncertainty that surrounds Derrick Rose?

Denver and Atlanta could be playoff teams with a lotto pick in 2014 to dangle, but would Love stay there? Denver in particular has a system under Shaw that I don't know if would take full advantage of Love. Anyway, I think we can agree that neither franchise has been a favourite destination for star players via trade or free agency.

If the Lakers get a high pick, do they trade it for Love in draft night or would they just wait for free agency? Would Houston offer everything but Harden-Howard?

Maybe because we are smarter fans. We realize he'd be a good fit, but that his game has limitations. Therefore it makes sense not to sell the farm for him. He could conceivably be this generation's Sharif Abdur Rahim. Six seasons and no playoffs yet while making sure he gets his shots and plays very iffy defense. It's not the end all be all if we can't trade for him. Draft smart. Retain cap space. Revisit Love in '15.

I agree with Frank here that we should be more polite to visitors.

But that said: "I dont think it is reasonable to argue with Mattya since his valuation of our team and its "assets" are lower than any other fan out there".

This is from the MIN board posted on the 7th of December.

shrink wrote:MIN already traded it's 2014 pick with these protections:

2014 first round draft pick to Phoenix top13 protected ...
Spoiler:
Minnesota's 1st round pick to Phoenix protected for selections 1-13 in 2014, 1-12 in 2015 or 1-12 in 2016; if Minnesota has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Phoenix by 2016, then Minnesota will instead convey its 2016 2nd round pick and 2017 2nd round pick to Phoenix [Minnesota-New Orleans-Phoenix, 7/27/2012]

MIN is currently 9-10, ahead of only two teams in a competitive Western Division. On the other hand , they are only 1.5 games from a tight playoff spot, and they've faced a brutal schedule so far. Adelman is not looking forward to that pick, even in the lottery - he wants to win now. so does Flip, but the pick represents insurance in case the wolves miss the playoffs, getting a good player in a good draft.

I'm wondering if the Wolves would gamble on themselves, and get value in a trade with PHX by lowering the protection on the pick? And what kind of value can you get on a pick you may already have to convey? a few ideas:

Channing Frye - lower protection to top 10

Goran Dragic - lower protection to top 3

get the pick back - lower protection to Top 8, get a 2015 PHX lottery protected 1st

Mattya wrote:I'm not lower the protection on our pick in this draft for either of these guys, at least not that much for Dragic.

Frye they perhaps have no real need for(not commenting on his proposed value here), but Dragic would be "godsend" even just for insurance.

tldr : Dragic is not worth lowering the pick protection to top3, even though it is highly likely 50/50 we get that pick anyway.

Dragic isnt worth half a pick. That pick has so much value for him(Mattya).
on the other hand, six 1st round picks for Love is too few.

Using Frye to reduce the protection on Minni's pick makes no sense, he is a key part of what we've done so far. Entertaining using Goran Dragic for such purpose leaves me speechless.

End of discussion.

Honestly if you were offered Thompson, Barnes, and Lee how the F did you guys not take that and runnnnn!

This is what a fan offered. In real life the rumored Cavs trade that was declined by the Wolves was Number 1 pick, Waiters, Thompson and filler. We turned that down and it looked like the right move since Love has only improved his value since then.

What the Wolves were (allegedly) turning down last summer when they thought they had a GOOD team has no bearing on what the Wolves might accept at this point when it turns out the Wolves are looking at the lotto again... and especially what they'd be looking at if/when Love asks out.

I've lost that Loving feeling.

Perhaps the question we should be asking ourselves is one from the other side of the fence....

What will Okafor and 2 mid-first round picks get ?
