Not sure about this deal. Sure I like Thomas as a player and the deal looks solid but will he be a difference maker for us? Can he lift us into the playoffs while other teams dramatically improved as well? Let's say we extend Bledsoe to a big contract, Goran will be a free agent after next season also. We would have big money commited to those three players while we really dont have the big guys we need on a successful team (especially after Frye left). Free agency isn't over but if the team stays that way I believe we will finish worse than last year.

Is Thomas a player I'll like? Meaning, does he flop, whine, or play like an idiot? How's his motor? Is he a punk? Did the idiocy/cancerous culture in Sacramento infect him at all?

I think is a player that you will like. I did not like the fit, because I thought that we had great depth at PG and SG with Bledsoe, Gogi, Gerald, Goodwin and Ennis....but probably I was wrong because McD and Horny know something that we do not know yet.
Thomas is a terrific one on one player and his handles are amazing. Sometimes he is selfish, and he takes some plays off on defense here and there...but overall plays hard and he does not seem a floper or punk by any means.

I think the age of the superteam is on the decline. The NBA CBA and lux tax almost guarantees it because the best players want to be paid max and no team can afford three superstars plus a good bench.

Fortunately, the Suns are on the leading edge (behind the Spurs) of building a well-balanced team with a deep, deep bench. The matchup problems the Suns can create with that depth will be huge. This is why the Thomas signing was good.

Also, this means less minutes and wear and tear on both Dragic and Bledsoe and we are less likely to have an injury negatively impact us like last year with Bledsoe. Plus the pace of the game can be even faster. Horny may get a team back to averaging 115 pts per game.

Overall a great signing. Now find another value PF and C.

Give the young guys a chance. Who know how good Len or Warren can become. Also, Bledsoe is not done growing as a player.

Exact opposite of the type of player you are hoping to avoid. I think you will love him. Goes all out.

I'm just saying from the picture, we only see the top quarter of the number. In reality, this is just a photoshopped picture that means absolutely nothing. They just took the jersey of an existing player(Bledsoe?) and put it together. It has no implications on Bledsoe at all, even if it is a 2.

It could also be a 3, aka ish smith's number, aka the guy he is actually replacing

Hope these two form a nice tandem off the bench if Kieff isn't starting.

No kidding, it was intentionally cut off so as not to ruffle any feathers. I doubt the Suns even knew what # he'd want since 22 is in use.

As for the deal I wasn't really feeling the interest in him when it was reported but on the deal the Suns gave him that is terrific value. And as an added bonus it's made reading other teams boards more entertaining(Raps board is still salty about the Suns drafting Ennis and Bucks board convinced they can call the Suns bluff on matching Bledsoe).

I don't think any of us believe the Suns WON'T match Bledsoe. The question we have is assuming that the Bucks would be willing to put 4/$63 max on the table for Bledsoe and assuming the Bledsoe would want to come to Milwaukee to play for Kidd, would the Suns considering dealing him in a S&T?

And no, we aren't giving up Giannis or Jabari Parker. But what is the Suns long-term plan, and does your front office want to carry Bledsoe at 4/$63?

Yeah, that's not happening either. 8-) Although I'd give up a top-five protected 2015 myself.

I think the Suns are paying 4/$63 for Bledsoe or coming to terms with some sort of sign and trade with a team with cap room. The question is what your front office sees as the best fit going forward.

yes i realized that, my point was that we don't know what that number was and it doesn't matter anyways cuz it means nothing. It has no indication on what or whose number he will actually wear.
