That would be funny if we traded him for Frye. I don't think Orlando would want him though because he doesn't get others involved on offense so he would stifle the young guys.

Not true, I think both Detroit and Dallas, for starters, would start him over what they currently have.

Possibly, but I don't think Dallas really wants to take the ball out of Monta Ellis' and Dirk's hands much. I'm not sure who we could get from them, but if they'd take him for someone expiring soon, I'd do it.

Detroit maybe too, but what do they do with Jennings? Maybe NY too, but we likely won't get much from these teams that fit our needs.

We wouldn't be able to re-sign Monroe either (not that I want him anyway) unless we just let Dragic walk but that would be a step backwards.

Here are the centerpiece players I think we could possibly get back for IT:

-Roy Hibbert
-Jordan Hill
-Greg Monroe
-Lance Stephenson
-Brook Lopez
-Kevin Garnett

Mason Plumlee is a "maybe".

The only one of those I would definitely want would be Hill, and I don't think the Lakers want to clog their post Kobe cap space (though he wouldn't have a big cap hit after that). I don't know if he'd start over Lin right now though anyway.

Come on man, he'd start over Lin. Ask any Laker fan.

What makes you think they'd trade away their starting center? Kobe doesn't really need a ball dominate pg as he is the primary ballhandler.

He's the primary ball handler because all other guards on the team are incapable of even dribbling the ball much less creating their own offense or passing it around.

As for trading away Hill, idk maybe they think Plumlee makes more sense for them since he's cheaper allowing them to go after a guy like Monroe may be in free agency.

I've been busy on the trade board, how bout this:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=nbbamvq

Suns give up Thomas, Tolliver, Randolph and a protected 1st...get back Monroe, Calderon and Jason Smith.

Suns roll out a strong starting 5 with a more balanced bench as well - only one heat-check guy in Green, as opposed to two when Thomas is there:

Monroe
Markieff
Tucker
Dragic
Bledsoe
---
Len
JSmith
Mook/Warren
Green/Goodwin
Calderon/Ennis

We don't have Monroe's Bird Rights obviously, so re-signing would be tough, but you'd hope he'd agree to re-sign before making a deal. Unless you are ok with him walking or potentially sign/trade for another big like Al Jefferson or the pipe-dream Marc Gasol.

Well he was the primary ballhandler with Nash, who became a spot up shooter. Wish Fisher he was, as Fisher was a spot up shooter. He works best with a guy who can spread the floor and hit the 3 and maybe handle occasional ball handling duties.

Much like with Dallas, where Calderon played a similar role last year. That's kind of the perfect type of guy for Dallas. If IT was there, Dirk and Monta Ellis would probably hate playing with him, but I'd love to trade him to them and watch it.

I think Monroe and Markieff would make for an abysmal front court combo. They occupy similar areas and would likely effect each other negatively on offense and both are pretty lousy on defense, especially in terms of protecting the rim.

Just wondering what your interest level would be in Rajon Rondo.

Celtics need scoring from the PG position and your team has three excellent scoring PG's. Ainge was reportedly the first person to call IT and I think he'd be a great fit. And of course McDonough worked with Ainge for years and was reportedly really high on Rondo.

Thoughts? Which of your three guards would you be most willing to deal?

Thomas for Bass + pick?

I think the Celtics would be more than happy to make this type of deal, though it leaves them EXTREMELY thin in the front court. The Celtics have no consistent perimeter scoring and obviously IT provides that as well as excellent insurance on Rondo bolting in the offseason.

Yeah, Monroe would be worse than Plumlee or Len

Yeah, thats TOTALLY what I was saying. Putting words in someone's mouth is a great way to end any rational discourse.

We have Plumlee and Len, we don't have to give anything to get them, Monroe would come at a cost AND I think he is a **** fit for this team... and not particularly good in the first place and keeping him would be difficult and expensive.

What need does Monroe even fill? The Suns need a shooter who can play off the ball and a reliable defensive big, Monroe is neither of those, and yes, he is actually worse than Plumlee and Len defensively, he is a better offensive player than either of them, but he is not a better offensive player than Markieff whom would occupy the same areas on offense, most likely making both of them less efficient.

So... we give up a bunch of value in a trade to get him, and presumably a bunch of money for his soon to be crappy contract and what have we fixed? The offensive spacing is worse, the interior defense is worse, we chewed up a bunch of cap space, we flushed assets... but he might marginally improve our team rebounding and we got a guy who does most of the same stuff offensively as Markieff! Hey hey!

Ok how about this:

Suns get:
Brook Lopez
Mirza Teletovic

Lakers get:
Deron Williams
Shavlike Randolph

Nets get:
Nash expiring/waive him
Isaiah Thomas
Nick Young
Anthony Tolliver
Marcus Morris
Ed Davis

The Nets rid themselves of 2 of the main 3 they want to move, acquiring easier to move parts/smaller deals.

Suns get a legit shot-blocker AND a reliable 3pt shooter at the PF to pair with Dragic. Also ditch Mook's deal which is not looking good at all to be honest.

Lakers get an over-priced guard to pair with their other over-priced guard.

Suns give Len another year or two of development behind a near All Star big in Lopez.

Lopez
Markieff
Tucker
Dragic
Bledsoe
---
Plumlee
Teletovic
Warren
Green
Ennis
Goodwin

Add a cheap body or two from FA like Barron?

Not bad but is Lopez any good defensively?

Of course our training staff would have to sign off on his fragile body...
