Bender, Len, Chriss and Ulis with a combined 47 minutes while our "core" players of Knight, Tucker and Chandler get a combined 88 minutes, great job Watson! Way to get us one step closer to the 8th seed on the treadmill to mediocrity! :banghead:

Had we won because of one of those Tucker tip-ins i would have been mad. But since its a Booker game winner (sort of) im fine with it.

I mean, Dudley and Barbosa aren't playing and they deserve minutes over Bender/Chriss/Ulis. Tucker and Knight will be gone soon. There's not a ton to complain about there.

You always cheer for the win while watching the game man. But you can still know that losses are more important for long term success of the franchise.

I was cheering and happy to see them play well but hoping they lost a close on at the end. That last shot going in would have been perfect after the Booker air ball.

Why wouldn't they be happy about losing? They could really use a high pick to go with the Unicorn.

We should be playing our young players over any veteran that clearly doesn't have a future here. Win or lose, play your young core so they can gain valuable experience. I understand not wanting to destroy their confidence by playing them too much, but playing each kid like 5-10 minutes a game is ridiculous if the goal is to develop these players.

I understand that McDoogle wants to raise Knight's, Tucker's and Chandler's trade values but let's be real here. Knight's value is at an all time low and no amount of playing time will fix that, in fact it might just lower his value even further. Tucker's value is as high as it can be so trade him for whatever you can get, he's an FA after this season anyways. Chandler I wouldn't mind staying with the team if he was under 25 but he's way past his prime and will only get worse the longer we keep him. At the very least bench him and ride Len as far as you can.

Our veteran leadership will come from Dudley, Barbosa and Bledsoe so there is no need for Tucker, Knight or Chandler to continue to be on this team.

Because they are not bad enough to get a high pick, their not good enough to be a .500 team but they are not bad enough to be botton 5. They can cheer for a loss and the tank. But their going to finish around that 10-14 spot

Ok, just finished the game after having it paused for like ever at halftime.

Bleh.

Good for Booker for hitting that final shot, but man, i would be more than happy to get the win if it was due to our youngsters getting the lions share of the minutes.....or lose with the Vets getting the major minutes and playing like crap, but to get a win with the Vets playing so many minutes, its kind of a loss in my book.

Sure Booker played great, and maybe helped his confidence more with the last shot, but when our youngsters play so much and lose, and when we play our vets more and win, its got to make the youngin's kinda feel bad, and is kind of detrimental to their confidence.

And here we are, 3+ years later and Len still is making these stupid mistakes. I really havent seen that much growth from him, or think he is anywhere close to where he should be. I would be really surprised if we do keep Chandler and look at Lens value on the trade market. The kid will get overpaid for "potential" that just isnt there.

Other than that, Warren was pretty much non-existent and had no real impact on the game for the amount of minutes he played. Chriss looked pretty good, Bender and Ulis were also really nowhere to be seen, but i guess thats what happens when you have old guys with no real future with the team gobbling up all the minutes.

In short......Feelsbadman.

I'd still be rooting for L's if I were them.

Great win. I was on the "tank train" last year. This year I am not. Bledsoe, Tucker, Chandler, Booker have been playing their hearts out and deserve a run at the 8th spot. And remember, that was the goal coming into the season: Playoffs!

Did you see Tucker/Warren/Bledsoe/Booker/Chandler on that last play? They wanted the W badly!

I'm proud of our team. Winning may cost us some spots in the lottery, but it will do wonders for the confidence of our youngsters. Chriss had his best game of the season tonight. It's amazing how fast he keeps improving. I've NEVER seen a player improve so much in so little time.

More thoughts:

-Booker is a stud
-Great coaching by Watson to keep Chriss out in the final minutes even though he was playing well. This decision may have won us the game.
-TJ missed so many shots that he typically makes.
-Knight played well. Why? Because he was playing off the ball and also looking to pass more. Also continues to put in more effort on defense.
-KP is unreal, but I'd argue that Chriss' ceiling is just as high. Both can dominate in this new age of basketball given their skills.
-I wish we had just drafted Noel instead of Len. (Gobert would be too much to ask for).
-Eddie Johnson seems like one cool dude. He and Cotton are the best Suns play by play commentators ever.

One more thought...with Knight possibly "buying in" and the team looking so focused, I think we have Watson's culture to thank. Our bench is one of the most engaged in the league.

Some of you made fun of Watson talking about "getting 1% better each day" at the beginning of the season, but I'd argue that most of our players are improving.

Watson is the man and Devin Booker is too good.

Suns are supposed to be ready and "improved" 20 games ago.

Teams like 76ers... the word "improving" holds more value.

The Suns have A LOT of veterans and a couple of players in their prime.

Return to Phoenix Suns
