Traxxe is a special young man who had about as many sources as Oscar the grouch had friends.

DarkHawk wrote:NBA.com has an 'argument for and against' all teams. Here's what they wrote for the Suns:Argument for Suns: All that we said about the Grizzlies? Now double it. The Suns just logged their 50th season, yet somehow have never earned an NBA championship or the No. 1 pick -- the oldest team in the league to own such distinctions. The bad luck behind that stat is a monolith of pain.
It started in the franchise’s second offseason, when a coin flip would determine whether the Suns or Milwaukee Bucks would get the top overall pick -- and a chance to Draft a guy named Lew Alcindor (later Kareem Abdul-Jabbar). The Suns picked heads. The coin showed tails and Phoenix wound up with Neal Walk.
Fast forward to 1987. Again, it was down to just Phoenix and one other team: the San Antonio Spurs. The unquestioned top pick of that year’s draft was a Navy guy named David Robinson. The Suns’ logo showed up on the second-to-last envelope, and they drafted Armen Gilliam instead.
As recently as last year, Phoenix had the second-best odds of landing the No. 1 pick. Instead, the Lakers and 76ers leap-frogged them, dropping the Suns to fourth.
In terms of being due blindingly good luck, Phoenix probably has the most historic case in the league.
Argument against Suns: It happened with Connie Hawkins in the 1970s. It occurred Charles Barkley in the '90s. And it happened when Nash was dealt in 2012: Whenever Phoenix has dealt its star player to a rival, the team is punished with a tumultuous transition.
Maybe the lottery gods are still offended at seeing Nash in Laker purple and gold. Maybe they’ll point to 21-year-old Devin Booker and say, “You know what? You’re good.” Maybe Phoenix just isn’t allowed to have nice things.
http://www.nba.com/article/2018/05/14/arguing-each-teams-case-nba-draft-lottery-luck
The fact that NBA.com has an article explaining why each team should get the number one pick is hella........suspect. Nice way of convincing the conspiracy theorist that its not rigged, by including why each team is so deserving of those top spots. Seriously, bad look on their part for putting something out like that, i can understand other websites, but not the damn NBA itself!

This isn't like an Anthony Davis or Ben Simmons all or nothing draft so I'm already happy with a top 4 pick.

Re: 2018 NBA Draft Lottery thread - 4:30pm MST / 7:30pm EDT
my thoughts on draft lottery reform right before the Suns get screwed again:
Lottery odds should be weighted with how long a team has gone without winning the lottery and how many times you've won the lottery in the past decade and how recent they were in the playoffs. When a team wins a top three pick, their odds to win again next year plummet to next to nothing. No more Lakers winning the #2 pick three years in a row. Team who wins #1 should basically be ineligible the next year (no Cavs bull ever again). It should be less likely that a team like the Spurs tanks for one year and wins a Duncan type. They gotta feel some pain like the rest of the league first.
Teams who haven't won the lottery in a long time (or ever lol) can be bad and have a good chance of winning. Then if they win they have to try to build a team with it because they're almost certainly not winning it again in the next few years. No Hinkie 76ers being unspeakably bad for half a decade straight and getting rewarded for it.
No more being bad for years and years based on false hope. You gotta start building a winning team after you get a top prospect.

Silly as it sounds, that felt like an out of body experience watching it. I couldn't process it. Like, there wasn't enough time to take in what had just happened. The next thing I knew, Magic was pumping his fist and I was furious.

Seems to me most are trying to reverse jinxe the Suns with their picks. I don’t know what to think about where the Suns will land just that we Suns fans are battered and bruised from the out come of these NBA draft lotteries .
