I have my eye on him too, he could be the "Archie Goodwin" of next season for McD..

Meaning, a player that would be lottery pick if he stay for their sophomore season.
If he comes out in 2014, he could be a late first... McD can do his magic and stash him up!

He is actually a sophomore, but he was good as a freshman last year too. He looks even better this year and it looks like he's been working on his long range shooting a bit.

Our favorite analyst Chad Ford released a new big board (top 30). Jordan Adams broke the ranks at 29, and is averaging 21 ppg and 3.5 spg.

But more importantly, at #30....
After an uneven start to the season, Ashley has been putting up consistently good numbers on offense for Arizona lately. Most importantly to scouts, he's showing that he has legit range on his 3-point shot. Scouts want him to make the transition to the 3 in the NBA, and he's showing signs this season that he's capable of doing so. Given the elite physical tools he possesses, he's going to continue to rise if he keeps shooting this well. I had several scouts put him in the mid-first round.

Could he be our Archie Goodwin pick as suggested, where we get him with Indy's pick? Or might he even go higher than that?

I think he's going to stay. He's playing well this season, but I think one more season in college will get him ready for the NBA. If he declares and assuming we have draft picks, I'd like to see us take a chance on him.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Potentially. (My projections)

14. Wolves pick (8th seed West)
16. Wizards pick (8th seed East)
19. Suns pick (7th seed West)
26. Pacers pick (2nd seed East)

That would make for a very fun draft day. Would not hurt my feelings going into it that AM with all our picks in tow.

I think the Suns will "only" have 3 picks, either Phoenix or Minnesota, both teams are not going to get in the POs and if Minny doesnt make it, they will be worse than 9th (14th) and they will keep the pick.

So most likely, two picks between 13th and 20th (Suns/Wolves and Wizards)
Indiana's (28-30th)

In my mind the 8th best player of this class and the 18th are pretty similar, so I wouldnt trade up, there is no way you are getting in the top10 unless you sacrifice all the picks and moving up is always hard.

Maybe if you throw Plumlee/Goodwin, but still I think it doesnt make any sense, you are not grabbing any of the top6 guys even with that package, so I will stand still.

3 picks like that, I will target two swingmen SG/SF and a PF, probably I will pick some international player to draft&stash since it's difficult to make room for 3 rookies.

Right now,

19th from Wizards, James Young, hopefully he falls because of his %, if not Rodney Hood/Mitch McGary are good fits also.
23th, Dario Saric, I think he could still be there, Payne or Harrell are also good fits.
28th from Indiana, Aaron Harrison, Jordan Clarkson, Vasilije Micic, a guard with good size that can play in a small perimeter with 3 Guards if needed, good shooters.

Young+Saric+Clarkson is the best case scenario with those picks right now.

3 guys with good skillsets that will fit right in, good athletes that like to push the ball and run.

Nice recap. Just one thing: given our roster, which is already deep, I'd draft based on best talent/potential available, not need (I'm no draft guru, so I don't know what names would that be).

I guess at some point you want to stablish and consolidate a rotation of 9-10 players. If/when that happens, someone will be the odd man out, probably one of the kids.

A good option could be selecting one foreigner and letting him develop overseas. Saric would be ideal, but the Mavs promised him last year and he didn't enter, and they say he is a late lotto lock this time. Micic sounds amazing as a third pg, and has size to be a complement to Goran and Bledsoe.

As for trading up, I think this year will be harder than ever. You'd need to be really blown away to give up a top7-10 pick. We could have the assets to get it done in the event a team entertained it, but it would essentially mean saying goodbye to the Lakers pick.

The list of top prospects seems to be pretty consolidated this year, but every time somebody does the weird thing and the draft goes crazy. It is refreshing to trust your GM to be there to take advantage of it if this were to happen.

Funny the challenges that pushing for the playoffs pose to a rebuilding team like ours. The good thing is that it puts the franchise in the mix for The Next disgruntled Superstar. And watching this squad fight in the postseason atmosphere, of course.

Based on Hollinger playoff odds we are looking at roughly

52 (Suns pick - second round)
29 or 30 (Pacers pick)
22 (Suns picks)
20 (Wolves pick)
17 (Wizards pick)

I like Kyle Anderson for us. Even with our first pick since its gonna be later in the draft.

Really good player. He has assists, rebounds, three point shooter, good defense. I really like him :D

Actually, he is a terrible defender. His lack of athleticism and lateral quickness is killing him. But he indeed is a very good offensive player, a creative point forward with a good feel for the game. With that being said, he is a second round pick, imo.

If we somehow pick him with our own (or Wizz) first rounder that would be a KendallMarshallesque mistake. He can be a good value pick in the second round or even with Indy pick.

Anderson is slow, but he is really long and smart, he could be a really good defender in the right system, I think he projects better as a PF in the NBA.

And I dont have insider info but I think everybody will stay at Zona, trying to win a title in 2014/15 season

McConnell-York-PJC
NJohnson-SJohnson
Gordon-RHJ-Pitts
Ashley-Victor
Tarczewski-Peters-Korchek

That's probably the clear cut favourite with Duke for next season.

I think there's very very little chance Gordon stays. He's been referring to this year as his "1 year of college" ever since he committed. I'd be shocked beyond belief if he reverses course and stays a second year. I think Ashley bolts too. At times he's been the best player on the floor. I dig his game a lot and absolutely would take him with the Indiana pick.

My boy Bogdan Bogdanovic (I am kind of repetitious, I know):

He is the kind of player Spurs could pick 50th and make him new Ginobili.

It always worries me when a guy barely shoots a percentage point or two better from the field than from 3. It usually means they have trouble finishing in traffic and at the rim which is bad for an NBA wing. I like that he has deep range on the 3-ball. 39% is pretty good, but I don't know the quality of guys he's going against. He seems to have a decent handle, but the video always shows him dumping off in traffic which kind of supports my above statement.

Also, can anyone explain the Serbian meaning behind having your first name as a shorter version of your surname? I see this quite often from players over there. There's also apparently a more famous Bogdan Bogdanović that was an architect.

Anderson is like a less-skilled, less-athletic Boris, without the defensive ability.

I still like him.
