Hawes is a perfect fit for this team whether you like to admit it or not. That and his contract was very reasonable.

They can play together too. Even though I'm low on Frye he'd be a better fit than Len...
Trading Len/twins/Warren/Goodwin cuts about 12-13m.

Bledsoe-Ennis
Dragic-Green
LBJ-Tucker
Bosh-LBJ/Frye
Pumlee-Frye/Bosh

That is the best team in the league.

I wouldn't trade all the rookies... That's suicide down the line.

Len, Goodwin I'll keep...
If Lebron come... Maybe trade Warren because Tucker, Green brings what he does.
Goodwin brings the wing attacker who can play defense and Len is the back to the basket player you need.

Rather trade Plumlee who I like, but he is so cheap that you just keep him anways.

I think Ryan Anderson may still be in play ...
Green, Tucker for Anderson?

Yeah, I have a feeling Hornacek would have gotten a ton out of Hawes. He has been terrible defensively in the past, but it's not often you have a 7'1 center who can shoot 40% from 3 and is a great passer, solid rebounder and blocks shots at an ok rate. Especially when you have two point guards who need space in the paint. He really would have likely flourished on this team. He would have been an upgrade over Frye, and it remains to be seen that we will do much of anything. He was one of the only (mid tier) FA's that definitely fit our team well.

I wish I knew which teams those were.

If the other team is looking for a S&T then they are very likely an over the cap team. Maybe Memphis?

I think the idea behind that is the Suns aren't willingly going to give Tucker up without getting some kind of assets back. My thought was, just trading him straight for a 2nd round pick and acquire a TPE.

Im happy to wait on LeBron. Even with the small margin for success it allows the market to settle. There was really little point in rushing towards a Deng or Gasol and blowing out future cap flexibility.

If no LeBron I would love to see us take a chance on Granger. Try to pull a Grant Hill type of resurgence. Probably be had for cheap. And he could play some small ball stretch 4 if Frye is over paid.

LOL Granger in a Suns' uniform is a big NO for me. He's doesn't like the Suns and we don't like him, just ask Frye.

I actually hope we continue to wait preventing us from signing average players.

If our plan is to wait to only sign superstar players for the next 10 years or whatever, it won't turn out very well.

If the Suns are really costing themselves FAs on a great price tag because their waiting for LeBron then really ought to think if McD is the right person for the job.

At the end of the day, Hawes, LeBron and the Clippers will get the last laugh while the Suns sit there with egg on their face.

For the record, I don't think McD is holding off on signing FAs because of the 5% chance that LeBron might sign here. He's not that stupid imo.

Surely you aren't saying McD is a chump because he lost out on Hawes are you? :D

Not at all. I think McD tried his best to get Hawes. I don't agree with the premise that McD didn't try his best to get Hawes because he's too busy kissing LeBron's ass.

Tucker's grown on me but if we get LeBron and then resign Tucker as his backup, what kind of playing time is Warren and Marcus gonna get?

I have said this earlier but I will say it again, if the Suns do not get Lebron and/or Bosh, I want no part of any other free agents, and I really do mean any. I think they all suck and I want nothing to do with them. I could care less about Spencer Hawes or any of these other career losers. They are terrible. I would rather the Suns just keep their own free agents (except Channing Frye) and continue to develop the young players. Gordon Hayward? Give me a break. The guy shot 41% fg and 30% 3pts last year and there are rumors he will get a max contract. That is a huge joke if I ever heard one. Who are other guys? Trevor Ariza? No thanks. I would rather see what T.J. Warren can do. The only other player I would consider is Pau Gasol, and that is not because I think he will lead the Suns to a title. I would take him because I think he could help Plumlee and Len tremendously. As for the other free agents, absolutely zero interest, especially Luol Deng. He shot 43% fg and 30% 3pts. P.J. Tucker had better statistics than that with 43% fg and 39% 3pts. Just keep P.J., unless the Suns get Lebron. Then he becomes expendable. Basically it is Lebron and/or Bosh or no one for me. I am way more excited about the Suns young players and internal development than I am of 99% of the available free agents.

Don't recall the Suns waiting for Dwight last year. The Suns have good young players and cap space right now and are on the best player in the world's short list. Far from an every year occurrence.

I mostly agree on this. I would sign parsons if he came for the right price. I've NEVER wanted deng here for an ounce of a second. Somehow people forgot about arizas last pending FA. dude is a contract year player. thats it.

Why trade away all our youth? I'd much rather keep guys like Warren/Len/Goodwin around rather than Tucker/Green so we can continue to be good rather than mortgaging our future. You don't see teams like the Spurs trading away their rookies, why should we?

I can't imagine McD letting his man Warren walk in favor of the 30+ year old Tucker.

It makes more business sense to keep Warren even though basketball "win now" mode may say Tucker.

I'm not saying the Suns wait but every single off season I hear out fans say "No don't sign him, lets only sign superstars not any role players or average players".

Superstars aren't exactly a dime a dozen.
