So what else did you want them to do, exactly? If a player doesn't want to sign here, management can't really do anything about that. We have money and would have loved to sign a big name or two, but they had no desire to play for Phoenix. If you believe rumors, it's due to Sarver and he's not leaving any time soon. It's one thing to blame management if they didn't even try, but McDonough and company have been trying and players just aren't listening.

This is what I mean by letting the inmates run the asylum. The Rockets, stupid as they are, allowed the prospect of signing some guy to dictate their player management. They trade a player *and* a pick to the **** Lakers to "make room" for said guy, and the guy spurns them.

Terrible, terrible management by the Rockets and an absolutely atrocious, alarming trend of teams bending over backwards for players in this league.

I honestly do not understand these kinds of statements. How can you be disappointed? They took a shot for a star and came up empty. I applaud management for going for it and the offseason is far from over. Who has been signed already that you wish the Suns had landed where you would not have been disappointed?

I guess some of us have higher aspirations than just being a lottery team. Sorry if we don't want to be continuously average/below average team.

But some posters here seem to want the Suns to make those same mistakes. It's better to be cautious than stupid.

I'm slightly worried about this MIA situation - they'd be foolish to not look at Bledsoe, I know they're linked to Thomas but depending on their relationship with Rich Paul, we might be ok...

Dallas could still land Deng and be vastly improved defensively with Chandler there now too, but they still need a PG.

How about Anthony Tolliver on the cheap? Still reminds me of that savage Amare dunk from way back but he's a legit 6'9" who can stretch the D and rebound a little, probably on the cheap too.

Why? Because he hates the west? Then why is his summer camp in Vegas? He's staying East because he gets to coast to the finals with the Pacers being the only obstacle.

b-ball forever wrote:Ya, I obviously woulda prefered it if LBJ came to the Suns, but I like that he didn't take the easy way out this time. Excellent choice for his legacy if he manages to win with Cleveland

He's already been in the east his whole career, he isn't leaving the west

The Suns were above average last season. Also, last I checked, no team can force a player to sign with them. I'm not sure why some fans don't understand this. The Suns set themselves up for the best possible chance at landing free agents and they did not want to play here. End of story. It's not like they didn't try, because they did. Now they have to make it work with what they've got.

Ok so clearly my attempt at humor was overlooked in favor of the last line in my post.

Here's what I'll say about it, guys like Isaiah Thomas and Luol Deng just simply don't excite me. When you figure that Luol Deng will be an overpay based on the type of contract he's seeking and that Isaiah Thomas just simply doesn't fit our roster as constructed. I'll continue to reserve judgement until November, hopefully whatever changes are made bode well for us.

For now, I can't wait to see the young guys play in Vegas!

Jordan Hill 2yr $18m from LAL (wow $9m for him?!)

Nick Young 4yr $21.5m from LAL

Two solid rotation guys but that's them out of Bledsoe sweepstakes isn't it?

So Houston just dumped Lin and draftpicks to LA to make room for Bosh and he turns around and signs with Miami.

Fair enough, but answer the question. Who has been signed already that you wish the Suns had landed where you would not have been disappointed?

I don't think the Bucks can even offer a max contract.

Time to low-ball Bled. :D
