Yeah Bender's going to be a really important player for us going forward. Get him on the Giannis diet/workout plan and have him shoot a million threes and a million ball handling drills.

It's really encouraging to see Bender have a positive impact on the game despite having a long way to go developing his offensive game. His defense is excellent, it's definitely going to keep him on the court while Chriss continues to develop discipline on defense. Love his passing instincts, sometimes it seems like he'll find people who don't realize they're in position to score and aren't ready for the ball. Ball handling skills have a long way to go, he's good to bring it up the court but if you pressure him to change directions it gets sketchy. I think part of the reason he doesn't look to score outside of catch and shoot 3s and cuts/putbacks is because he's not comfortable taking NBA 4s off the dribble yet, which will hopefully come with time.

The Suns defensive rating in 66 minutes with Dragan and Jackson on the court is... 88.8.

With a total of 6 games so far this year, Bender is shooting 40% from 3 point range in the last 5 games. Almost all his shots are from 3.
Great defense, developing a solid 3 point shot, it's going to be hard to keep him from being a starter eventually.

And he is still only 19!

Dragan Bender's defense down the stretch was just amazing. No one could get a decent shot around him. He is 19 years old. He is definitely a potential all-defensive team candidate in the future, and who knows, maybe DPOY candidate at some point in his career.

I am ready for him to start now.

Plus I think the injury for Chris is bothering him. So let's start Bender! I think once we do that it will be very hard to get him out of that lineup.

I know I'm crazy but at times I swear Dragan has way more potential than Booker and I still think Booker's going to be a star.

Well, Dragan was 4th pick in a really hyped/stacked draft, Booker lasted until 13 in another good - but not that stacked one. So it makes sense on that level.

True. I guess I just have such high expectations for Booker that I'm very happy to see that we may have even more potential in a legit 7 footer who enjoys playing defense. Those types of players are rare.

He was the only guy that could contain RHJ's drives to the basket when the Nets went small. Len/Chandler had no business of trying to stay in front of an athletic wing. Bender's ability to switch and guard smaller, athletic payers is perfect for today's game. I'm consider putting him ahead of Jackson in the Suns' ranking of their young core.

There was one advanced stats site, can remember which, that said that Bender has he most potential of any of our young players, and it wasn't even that close.
